Metal additive manufacturing(AM)technology has promising applications across many fields due to its near-net-shape advantages.The quality of the as-built component is closely linked to the temperature evolution during the metal AM process,which exhibits strong nonlinearities,localized high gradients,and rapid cooling rates.Therefore,real-time prediction of the temperature field is essential for effective online process control to achieve high fabrication quality,which poses surprising challenges for numerical methods,as traditional methods suffer from the inherent time-consuming nature of fine time-space discretizations.In this study,we proposed an isothermal surface imaging and transfer learning framework for fast prediction of isothermal surfaces,which are further used to reconstruct the high-dimensional,nonlinear temperature field.It consists of three key parts:physics-guided isothermal surface imaging to reduce the problem dimensionality by transforming the unstructured temperature field into a series of structured grayscale images,a pre-trained hybrid parameter-to-image generative neural network for the isothermal surface prediction in favor of small training samples,and a transfer learning strategy leveraging physical similarity of these isothermal surfaces in the metal AM process to obtain the 3D temperature field.The training samples are generated using a high-fidelity numerical model,which is validated against experimental data.The predicted results from the proposed framework agree well with those from the high-fidelity numerical simulation for a given combination of process parameters,achieving a computational cost measured in seconds.It is expected that the proposed framework could serve as a powerful tool for predicting the temperature field and further facilitating online control of process parameters. 展开更多

Electrically controlled solid propellant(ECSP)offers multiple ignition and adjustable burning rate,serving as fuel for next-generation intelligent propulsion systems.To further enhance the combustion performance of ECSP,a method utilizing electrochemical and thermal decomposition catalysts has been proposed.In this work,we investigated the combustion characteristics of hydroxylamine nitrate(HAN)-based ECSP incorporating cerium oxide(CeO2)and graphene oxide(GO)by using an electrically controlled combustion test system.Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and linear sweep voltammetry(LSV)were used to measure the electrical conductibility and overpotential of ECSP with various additives,and Tafel curves were calculated.Thermogravimetric analysis coupled with differential scanning calorimetry(TG-DSC)was employed to investigate the thermal decomposition behavior of ECSP.While the addition of CeO2 and GO reduced the conductivity of ECSP,both catalysts exhibited strong electrocatalytic properties and facilitated the thermal decomposition of ECSP.Between two catalysts,GO demonstrated superior electrochemical catalytic performance but weaker thermal decomposition catalytic ability than CeO2.The addition of catalysts significantly enhanced the combustion performance of HAN-based ECSP.Specifically,the ignition delay time was shortened by 10%~20%.CeO2 raised the burning rate by approximately 20%but GO exhibited a remarkable boost of 40%in burning rate at high voltage.The combination of GO and PVA produced a flame-retardant substance that negatively impacted the ignition delay of ECSP and resulted in a smaller increase in the burning rate of ECSP at low ignition voltages. 展开更多

Planar and curved microlens arrays(MLAs)are the key components of miniaturized microoptical systems.In order to meet the requirements for advanced and multipurpose applications in microoptical field,a simple manufacturing method is urgently required for fabricating MLAs with unique properties,such as waterproofness and variable field-of-view(FOV)imaging.Such properties are beneficial for the production of advanced artificial compound eyes for the significant applications in complex microcavity environments with high humidity,for instance,miniature medical endoscopy.However,the simple and effective fabrication of advanced artificial compound eyes still presents significant challenges.In this paper,bioinspired by the natural superhydrophobic surface of lotus leaf,we propose a novel method for the fabrication of waterproof artificial compound eyes.Electrohydrodynamic jet printing was used to fabricate hierarchical MLAs and nanolens arrays(NLAs)on polydimethylsiloxane film.The flexible film of MLAs hybridized with NLAs exhibited excellent superhydrophobic property with a water contact angle of 158°.The MLAs film was deformed using a microfluidics chip to create artificial compound eyes with variable FOV,which ranged from 0°to 160°. 展开更多

In rotor dynamics,blades are normally modelled as a slender beam,in which elastic deformations are coupled with each other.To identify these coupling effects,new rigid-flexible structural model for helicopter rotor system is proposed in this paper.Finite rotations of the whole blade(on flapwise,lagwise,and torsional)are described as three global rigid degrees of freedom.The nonlinear deformation geometrics of the beam is built on geometrically exact beam theory.New expressions for blade strain energy,kinetic energy,and virtual work of various kinds of external forces are derived as functions of finite rotations and elastic deformations.To quantify the coupling characteristics,following the definition of coupling factor in electromagnetics,a new coupling factor between two modal components on each mode is introduced in modal analysis.Simulations show that the new structural model is highly capable of solving static and dynamic problems in rotor system and the maximum deformation that moderate deformation beam theory can predict might be 15%of beam length.After the new coupling factor is applied to study structurally coupled characteristics of rotor blade,it can be concluded that closeness of natural frequencies likely indicates considerable coupling between corresponding DOFs in structure. 展开更多

Temperature is an important environmental factor affecting heading date of rice.Despite its importance,genes responsible for temperature-sensitive heading in rice have remained elusive.Our previous study identified a quantitative trait locus qHd1 which advances heading date under high temperatures.A 9.5-kb insertion was found in the first intron of OsMADS51 in indica variety Zhenshan 97(ZS97).However,the function of this natural variant in controlling temperature sensitivity has not been verified.In this study,we used CRISPR/Cas9 to knock out the 9.5-kb insertion in ZS97.Experiments conducted under cotrolled conditions in phytotrons confirmed that deletion increased temperature sensitivity and advanced heading by downregulating the expression level of OsMADS51.One-hybrid assays in yeast,ChIP-quantitative polymerase chain reaction,electrophoretic mobility shift,and luciferase-based transient transactivation assays collectively confirmed that OsMADS51 affects heading date by regulation of heading date gene Ehd1.We further determined that the long non-coding RNA HEATINR is generated from the first intron of OsMADS51,offering an explanation for how the 9.5-kb insertion affects temperature sensitivity.We also found that OsMADS51 was strongly selected in early/late-season rice varieties in South China,possibly accounting for their strong temperature sensitivity.These insights not only advance our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying the temperature-responsive regulation of heading date in rice but also provide a valuable genetic target for molecular breeding. 展开更多

A GaN-based pin neutron detector with a 6LiF conversion layer was fabricated,and can be used to detect thermal neutrons.Measurement of the electrical characteristic of the GaN-based pin neutron detector showed that the reverse leakage current of the neutron detector was reduced significantly after deposition of a 6LiF conversion layer on the detector surface.The thermal neutrons used in this experiment were obtained from an 241Am-Be fast neutron source after being moderated by 100-mm-thick high-density polyethylene.The experimental results show that the detector with 16.9-μm thick 6LiF achieved a maximum neutron detection efficiency of 1.9%at a reverse bias of 0 V,which is less than the theoretical detection efficiency of 4.1%calculated for our GaN neutron detectors. 展开更多

The purpose of this research study was to examine the attitude response of a planing craft under the controllable hydrofoils.Firstly,a non-linear longitudinal attitude model was established.In the mathematical model,effects of wind loads were considered.Both the wetted length and windward area varied in different navigation conditions.Secondly,control strategies for hydrofoils were specified.Using the above strategies,the heave and trim of the planing craft was adjusted by controllable hydrofoils.Finally,a simulation program was developed to predict the longitudinal attitudes of the planing craft with wind loads.A series of simulations were performed and effects of control strategies on longitudinal attitudes were analyzed.The results show that under effects of wind loads,heave of fixed hydrofoils planing craft decreased by 6.3%,and pitch increased by 8.6%when the main engine power was constant.Heave decreased by less than 1%and trim angle decreased by 1.7%as a result of using variable attack angle hydrofoils;however,amplitude changes of heave and pitch were less than 1%under the control of changeable attack angle hydrofoils and longitudinal attitude. 展开更多

Lattice structures can be designed to achieve unique mechanical properties and have attracted increasing attention for applications in high-end industrial equipment,along with the advances in additive manufacturing(AM)technologies.In this work,a novel design of plate lattice structures described by a parametric model is proposed to enrich the design space of plate lattice structures with high connectivity suitable for AM processes.The parametric model takes the basic unit of the triple periodic minimal surface(TPMS)lattice as a skeleton and adopts a set of generation parameters to determine the plate lattice structure with different topologies,which takes the advantages of both plate lattices for superior specific mechanical properties and TPMS lattices for high connectivity,and therefore is referred to as a TPMS-like plate lattice(TLPL).Furthermore,a data-driven shape optimization method is proposed to optimize the TLPL structure for maximum mechanical properties with or without the isotropic constraints.In this method,the genetic algorithm for the optimization is utilized for global search capability,and an artificial neural network(ANN)model for individual fitness estimation is integrated for high efficiency.A set of optimized TLPLs at different relative densities are experimentally validated by the selective laser melting(SLM)fabricated samples.It is confirmed that the optimized TLPLs could achieve elastic isotropy and have superior stiffness over other isotropic lattice structures. 展开更多

Surgical robots have been widely used in diferent procedures to improve and facilitate the surgery.However,there is no robot designed for endometrial regeneration surgery,which is a new therapy for restoring fertility in women using stem cells.Endometrial regeneration surgery requires processing of the endometrium and transplantation of stem cells with minimal trauma to the uterus.In this paper,we introduce a surgical robotic system that consists of a dexterous hysteroscope,supporting arm,and additional novel instruments to facilitate the operation and decrease trauma to the uterus.Remote center of motion(RCM)constraint is required to protect the cervix of the uterus.First,the supporting arm and hysteroscope are controlled separately in kinematics to ensure that the RCM constraint and hysteroscope’s shape and posture are predictable.Then,a task-decoupled method is used to improve the robustness of the RCM constraint.Experiments confrm that the proposed method is more robust and achieves higher RCM accuracy.In addition,the master-slave control of a robot with RCM constraint is also verifed.This study proposes the realization of a robot with robust RCM control for endometrial regeneration surgery. 展开更多

The electrocatalytic upgrading of polyethylene terephthalate(PET)-derived ethylene glycol(EG)to polyglycolic acid(PGA)offers a sustainable pathway for transforming waste into biodegradable polymer,aligning with the concept of waste-to-wealth.Nevertheless,ongoing research primarily focuses on upgrading EG to glycolic acid(GA),with direct upgrading of PET to PGA remaining unexplored.Moreover,achieving ampere-level current density and ensuring long-term stability are significant challenges in EG electrooxidation.Herein,we achieved the electrooxidation of EG to GA with an impressive ampere-level current density(>1 A/cm2)and 1000 h stability using a AuPd alloy catalyst,together with a high GA selectivity(94%),and realized the full-process conversion of PET into PGA via electrocatalysis.Wereveal that within the AuPd alloy,Au serves as the catalytic site for producing active oxygen species(OH*),while Pd functions as the adsorption site for EG,synergistically enhancing performance.To demonstrate practical application potential,we successfully transformed crude EG extracted from waste PET bottles into GA coupled with H2 production using a homemade flow electrolyzer,and then successfully polymerized the resulting GA to PGA.Preliminary techno-economic analysis estimates that the profit per ton of PGA from waste PET could remarkably reach$5475.6,highlighting the feasibility of addressing PET pollution through sustainable upcycling PET to PGA and H2 fuel. 展开更多

The Chinese government has set long-term carbon neutrality and variable renewable energy development goals for the power sector.The clean energy transition requires a co-evolution of innovation,investment,and deployment strategies for emerging energy storage technologies.Hydrogen could play a pivotal role as a long-duration energy storage in future low-carbon electricity systems,balancing inflexible or intermittent supply with demand.Cost projections are important for understanding this role,but data are scarce and uncertain.Here,we provide a techno-economic evaluation and uncertainty analysis of hydrogen as a long-duration energy storage,using a learning rate approach to estimate the long-term cost.We find that the levelized cost of hydrogen energy storage based on a modeled 25 MW system with proton exchange membranes technology is 3.981 yuan/kWh in 2025.Capital expenditure and equipment replacement costs are the top two contributors,accounting for 32.7%and 33.6%,respectively.Technological advancements and deployment scaling of electrolyzers and fuel cells are projected to drive the levelized cost of hydrogen energy storage down to 1.848 yuan/kWh by 2050 under an 18%learning rate trajectory.Although projections indicate that hydrogen energy storage remains less cost-competitive compared to mature technologies through 2050,like electrochemical storage and pumped hydro storage,its unique value proposition for long-duration storage and grid resilience sustains development potential in high variable renewable energy penetration scenarios. 展开更多

微小染色体维持蛋白2(minichromosome maintenance protein 2,MCM2)的异常表达与多种恶性肿瘤的发生发展密切相关。为探索MCM2基因对胆管癌细胞肿瘤生物学行为的影响及其潜在的作用机制,本研究首先采用cell counting kit-8(CCK-8)、平... 微小染色体维持蛋白2(minichromosome maintenance protein 2,MCM2)的异常表达与多种恶性肿瘤的发生发展密切相关。为探索MCM2基因对胆管癌细胞肿瘤生物学行为的影响及其潜在的作用机制,本研究首先采用cell counting kit-8(CCK-8)、平板细胞克隆形成、Transwell和Invasion实验证实,MCM2可促进胆管癌细胞的增殖、迁移和侵袭能力;流式细胞术检测结果显示,MCM2可加快细胞周期进程,抑制细胞凋亡。进一步通过对胆管癌组织RNA测序数据集的分析发现,MCM2基因与p53信号通路的激活显著负相关。采用实时定量PCR(quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction,qRT-PCR)和蛋白质免疫印迹(Western blotting,WB)实验发现,在胆管癌细胞中MCM2可显著下调p53和BAX的mRNA和蛋白表达水平,显著上调BCL2和CCND1的mRNA和蛋白表达水平。采用流式细胞术、qRT-PCR和WB实验进一步证实MCM2基因依赖于p53通路发挥影响胆管癌细胞周期和凋亡的功能。最后,通过分析MCM2的表达水平与胆管癌患者临床预后的相关性发现,MCM2在胆管癌组织中的表达显著高于癌旁组织,且其高表达与患者的不良预后显著相关。综上所述,本研究初步揭示MCM2可能通过抑制p53信号通路促进胆管癌的发生发展,并提示MCM2的高表达与胆管癌的不良预后显著相关,为未来胆管癌新的临床诊治措施的研发提供了理论依据。 展开更多

Objective To investigate the early serum proteomic response in acute radiation syndrome(ARS)and identify potential biomarkers for early diagnosis and injury stratification using deep data-independent acquisition(DIA)proteomic.Methods 24 male C57BL/6 J mice(8 weeks old)were randomly assigned to four groups forγ-ray whole-body irradiation at doses of 0,2,6.5 and 10 Gy,respectively.Serum samples were collected 6 h post-irradiation for deep DIA proteomic analysis combined with nanoparticle-based enrichment.Bioinformatics methods were employed for screening differentially expressed proteins(DEPs),functional enrichment and core protein set identification.Western blot was used to validate the dose and time effects of candidate biomarkers.Results Leveraging deep DIA proteomics,we established an early-stage radiation injury proteomic profile in mice,quantifying over 4500 serum proteins.Analysis revealed a distinct dose-dependent response pattern:at a dose of 2 Gy,DNA damage repair pathways were activated concurrently with significant downregulation of cardiovascular function-related proteins;when the irradiation dose reached 6.5 Gy,the response shifted to immune hyperactivation coupled with widespread impairment of fundamental cellular functions;at a cumulative radiation dose of 10 Gy,complete collapse of basic biological processes including protein synthesis was observed.Notably,neutrophil granule protein(NGP)demonstrated stable,dose-dependent elevation within 24 h post-irradiation.At 6 h post-exposure,NGP levels increased approximately 2-fold,7.2-fold,and 7.5-fold at doses of 2 Gy(t=3.47,P<0.05),6.5 Gy(t=4.51,P<0.05),and 10 Gy(t=15.91,P<0.001),respectively,indicating its strong potential as an early biomarker for radiation injury.Conclusion This study elucidates a dose-dependent serum proteomic response pattern in early ARS,revealing that molecular alterations associated with long-term cardiovascular effects of radiation occur as early as the initial post-irradiation phase.The stable early response of NGP within 24 h post-exposure provides a potential molecular target and theoretical foundation for early warning and clinical intervention in ARS. 展开更多

Individuals with higher working memory capacities excel in mathematics performance.However,limited research has explored the impact of working memory on adolescents'algebraic ability and the transferability of training effects.Therefore,we con-ducted the current investigation with Chinese adolescents.In a correlational study(n=218),we identified a positive association between n-back working memory and the ability to solve algebraic word and equation problems.In a subsequent training study,the experimental group(n=28)underwent adaptive n-back working memory training for 20 days,resulting in enhanced working memory performance.However,no improvements in algebraic performance were observed in the experimental group compared to either the passive control(n=22)or the active control group(n=28).Together,while n-back working memory performance is associated with better algebraic performance,leveraging training gains of working memory to enhance algebra learning presents challenges.The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are presented. 展开更多

Sodium humate(HA-Na) has been topically used as a wound healing and anti-inflammatory agent in folk medicine. In the present study, HA-Na was investigated for cutaneous wound healing in Sprague–Dawley rats. HA-Na solution(1.0%, w/v) was topically administered to rats undergoing excision wound models. Healing was assessed with a recombinant bovine basic fibroblast growth factor for external use as positive control. Wound healing rates were calculated on Day 3, 6, 9, 14 and 21 after injury, and tissues were also harvested after the same intervals for histological analysis. In addition, tissue hydroxyproline levels were measured. Furthermore, m RNA levels and protein expressions of transforming growth factor-β1, 2, 3(TGF-β1, 2, 3) were determined by RT-PCR and western blot. Protein expression levels of Smad-2,-3,-4 and-7 were also detected by western blot. Our study demonstrates that HA-Na has the capacity to promote wound healing in rats via accelerated wound contraction and increased hydroxyproline content. More importantly, these wound healing effects of HA-Na might be mediated through the TGF-β/Smad signaling pathway. HA-Na may be an effective agent for enhanced wound healing. 展开更多

Background and Aims:The natural course of chronic hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection is widely studied;however,follow-up studies of the same patients are scanty.Here,we studied the dynamic changes of serum HBV RNA and cytokines in hepatitis B virus e antigen(HBeAg)-positive patients treated with entecavir(ETV)to explore the relationship between the HBV serum viral nucleic acids and host immunity.Methods:Thirty-three chronic hepatitis B patients who are HBeAg-positive,with high virus load(HBV DNA>20,000 IU/mL),and received standard nucleos(t)ide analogue(NA)antiviral therapy(ETV)for more than 48 weeks were included.The serum levels of HBV nucleic acids and selected cytokines were measured at 0,12,24,and 48 weeks respectively.Results:Serum HBV RNA could still be detected while serum HBV DNA had fallen below the detection limit in patients treated with ETV.There was a strong positive correlation between HBV RNA and HBeAg,with a concomitant decrease in the secretion of cytokines from type 1 helper T(Th1)ype 2 helper T(Th2)/interleukin(IL)-17 producing T(Th17)cells.IL-4 and IL-10 were the main cytokines negatively associated with serum HBV RNA.Conclusions:HBeAg can be used to reflect the load of HBV RNA indirectly,because serum HBV RNA has not been widely used in clinical practice.Meanwhile,serum IL-4 and IL-10 might be explored in combination with HBV RNA in guiding future clinical antiviral therapy. 展开更多

The electricity distribution network is experiencing a profound transformation with the concept of the smart grid,providing possibilities for selfish consumers to interact with the distribution system operator(DSO)and to maximize their individual energy consumption utilities.However,this profitseeking behavior among consumers may violate the network constraints,such as line flows,transformer capacity and bus voltage magnitude limits.Therefore,a network-constrained energy consumption(NCEC)game among active load aggregators(ALAs)is proposed to guarantee the safety of the distribution network.The temporal and spatial constraints of an ALA are both considered,which leads the formulated model to a generalized Nash equilibrium problem(GNEP).By resorting to a well-developed variational inequality(VI)theory,we study the existence of solutions to the NCEC game problem.Subsequently,a two-level distributed algorithm is proposed to find the variational equilibrium(VE),a fair and stable solution to the formulated game model.Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed game model and the efficiency of the distributed algorithm are tested on an IEEE-33 bus system. 展开更多

Background: Psoriasis is a common, chronic, immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease with increased epidermal proliferation. The objective of this review was to systematically identify the evidence and perform a network meta-analysis (NMA) to estimate the relative efficacy of secukinumab (SEC) against adalimumab (ADA) and infliximab (INF) for the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis.Methods: A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted according to a pre-specified protocol to identify relevant studies. Initially, the databases were searched from database inception till June 2013, and the SLR was updated in April 2020. The eligibility criteria included adult patients (≥18 years old) with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis, and the SLR included randomized controlled trials (RCTs). The comparators of interest were SEC, ADA, INF, and placebo (PLA), while outcomes of interest were Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) (50, 75, and 90) at weeks 12, 16, and 24. A Bayesian NMA for PASI was utilized with a framework that evaluated the probability of PASI responses in different categories of PASI thresholds within a single model.Results: A total of 23 RCTs that assessed the efficacy of SEC, ADA, and INF in patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis were identified. At 12 weeks, SEC was associated with a significantly better response compared with PLA and ADA for PASI 75 and 90, while response results were comparable against INF. At 12 weeks, risk ratio (95% confidence interval) derived from NMA for SECvs. ADA and INF for PASI 75 was 1.35 (1.19, 1.57) and 1.01 (0.90, 1.18), respectively. At the 16-week and 24-week time interval, SEC was significantly better than PLA, ADA, and INF for PASI 75 and 90.Conclusion: Efficacy of SEC in the treatment of patient populations with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis is well demonstrated through NMA. 展开更多
