Methods: A total of 60 neonates undergoing heel blood sampling at Friendship Hospital of Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang from January 2021 to January 2025 were enrolled and divided into two groups based on differences in actual nursing protocols: a control group (traditional blood collection techniques supplemented with routine care) and an observation group (refined blood collection techniques combined with systematic nursing care), each comprising 30 cases. Comparison was conducted regarding blood sampling success rate, sampling time, neonatal pain scores, post-procedural adverse reactions, and parental satisfaction. Results: The observation group demonstrated higher success rates per procedure and lower failure rates compared to the control group (P <0.05). Sampling time was significantly shorter in the observation group (P <0.05). Neonatal pain scores were statistically lower in the observation group (P <0.05). The incidence of post-procedural adverse reactions was significantly reduced in the observation group (P <0.05). Overall parental satisfaction was significantly higher in the observation group (P <0.05). Conclusion: The application of refined blood collection techniques combined with systematic nursing care enhances the success rate of neonatal heel blood sampling, reduces sampling time, alleviates pain during the procedure, minimizes adverse reactions, and potentially improves parental satisfaction with medical services.展开更多
Objective:To explore the application effect of the intelligent blood collection system in the outpatient blood collection of cancer specialized hospitals,and to provide a basis for improving the quality of outpatient ...Objective:To explore the application effect of the intelligent blood collection system in the outpatient blood collection of cancer specialized hospitals,and to provide a basis for improving the quality of outpatient blood collection nursing and the medical experience of patients.Methods:136,274 blood specimens collected using the traditional manual blood collection mode from January to June 2020 were selected as the control group,and 176,989 blood specimens collected using the intelligent blood collection system from January to June 2021 were selected as the observation group.The blood collection process time,blood specimen quality,incidence of adverse events and patient satisfaction of the two groups were compared.Measurement data were expressed as x±s and analyzed by t-test.Counting data were expressed as cases(%),and theχ2test was used.A p value<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results:The registration and number collection time,specimen submission time and total process time of the observation group were significantly shorter than those of the control group(p<0.001).The total error rate of blood samples decreased from 0.374%to 0.050%,and the error rate of blood collection tube usage decreased from 3.8%to 0.7%.The patient satisfaction rate increased from 88%to 96%,and the differences were statistically significant(p<0.05).Conclusion:The intelligent blood collection system can optimize the outpatient blood collection process,shorten the service duration,reduce the error rate of specimens,improve the efficiency of nursing and patient satisfaction,and has good application value in the outpatient blood collection management of tumor specialized hospitals.展开更多

Objective:To systematically evaluate the application effect of a self-developed teaching case collection for emergency nursing courses and explore its value in enhancing students’core clinical competencies.Methods:Ba...Objective:To systematically evaluate the application effect of a self-developed teaching case collection for emergency nursing courses and explore its value in enhancing students’core clinical competencies.Methods:Based on the characteristics of nursing education and the training requirements for higher vocational students,a teaching case collection suitable for the nursing major was constructed.Students enrolled in the nursing major in Grade 2022 were selected as the control group(traditional teaching mode,n=1081),and students in Grade 2023 were selected as the experimental group(case-based teaching mode,n=1038).The control group received conventional theoretical and practical teaching,while the experimental group received case-based teaching using the case collection in addition to conventional teaching.Self-designed questionnaires were used to survey the control group,clinical instructors,and external review experts.Objective evaluations were conducted through theoretical tests and objective structured clinical examinations for both groups.The two groups were compared in terms of theoretical scores,practical skills,autonomous learning ability,and teaching satisfaction.Results:A teaching case collection containing 33 cases covering 10 symptoms(such as dyspnea,chest pain,and abdominal pain)was successfully constructed.The experimental group showed significantly better results than the control group in theoretical scores(86.54±6.32 vs.78.21±7.85),practical scores(88.92±5.14 vs.81.45±6.73),and total autonomous learning ability scores(85.37±8.21 vs.74.56±9.03)(all P<0.05).Additionally,91.67%of students were satisfied with the case-based teaching mode,95.83%believed case teaching improved clinical thinking ability,and 97.22%of instructors felt that the case collection enhanced lesson preparation efficiency and teaching effectiveness.Conclusion:The“Emergency Nursing Teaching Case Collection”fills the gap in systematic teaching cases for emergency nursing.Compared with traditional teaching,the case-based teaching mode more effectively improves students’comprehensive competencies and has been widely recognized by both students and instructors,providing effective resource support for the reform of emergency nursing teaching.展开更多

It covers the entire process of rainwater collection, storage, purification, and utilization, directly influencing the stability and ecological benefits of the municipal road drainage system. Based on the practical experience of municipal road engineering and combined with the concept of sponge city construction, this paper optimizes the application scheme of rainwater collection technology in road drainage, integrating practical technologies such as L-shaped integrated side curb stones and permeable pavement. Through process improvement, equipment optimization, and system coordination, the utilization rate of rainwater collection and the efficiency of drainage are enhanced. The feasibility and effectiveness of the optimized scheme are verified through specific project practice. The data shows that the optimized technology application can increase the road rainwater collection volume by 3800 cubic meters per year, reduce the duration of road water accumulation by a total of 45 hours per year, and lower the annual operation and maintenance cost of the drainage system by 126,000 yuan. Objectives:This study aimed to explore the characteristics of outpatient blood collection center visit fluctuation and nursing workforce allocation based on a time series model,and the application effect was evaluated...Objectives:This study aimed to explore the characteristics of outpatient blood collection center visit fluctuation and nursing workforce allocation based on a time series model,and the application effect was evaluated.Methods:To enhance the efficiency of phlebotomy at the hospital outpatient window and improve patient satisfaction,the First Affliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University implemented a time series analysis model in 2024 to optimize nursing staff allocation.The management team was led by a head nurse of the outpatient blood collection department with extensive experience.It included one director of the nursing department,six senior clinical nurses,one informatics expert,and one nursing master's degree holder.Retrospective time-series data from the hospital's smart blood collection system(including hourly blood collection volumes and waiting times)were extracted between January 2020 and December 2023.Time series analysis was used to identify annual,seasonal,monthly,and hourly variation patterns in blood collection volumes.Seasonal decomposition and the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average Model(ARIMA)were employed to forecast blood collection fluctuations for 2024 and facilitate dynamic scheduling.A comparison was conducted to evaluate differences in blood collection efficiency and patient satisfaction before(January-June 2023)and after(January-June 2024)implementing the dynamic scheduling model based on the time series analysis and forecasting.Results:Visit volumes showed periodicity and slow growth,peaking every second and third quarter of the year and daily at 8:00-9:00 a.m.and 2:00-3:00 p.m.The ARIMA model demonstrated a good fit(R2=0.692,mean absolute percentage error=8.28%).After adjusting the nursing staff allocation based on the fluctuation characteristics of the number of phlebotomy per hour in the time series analysis model,at the peak period of the blood collection window,at least three nurses,one mobile nurse and two volunteers were added.The number of phlebotomy per hour increased from 289.74±54.55 to 327.53±37.84 person-time(t=-10.041,P<0.01),waiting time decreased from 5.79±2.68 to 4.01±0.46 min(t=11.531,P<0.01),and satisfaction rose from 92.7%to 97.3%(χ2=6.877,P<0.05).Conclusions:Based on the time series analysis method,it is helpful for nursing managers to accurately allocate human resources and optimize the efficiency of outpatient service resources by mining the special change rule of the outpatient blood collection window and predicting the future fluctuation trend.展开更多
BACKGROUND The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate a practical stem cell collection method that provides sufficient stem cells for autologous stem cell transplantation(ASCT)in multiple myeloma(MM)patients despite ...BACKGROUND The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate a practical stem cell collection method that provides sufficient stem cells for autologous stem cell transplantation(ASCT)in multiple myeloma(MM)patients despite low peripheral CD34(pCD34)counts and to describe the benefits of this method for MM patients with limited resources.AIM To demonstrate a practical method for stem cell collection.METHODS Stem cell collection data on the last 300 patients at a community cancer center in Washington were reviewed.We report on the methods of collection,including medi-cations used and timing,used by the blood blank as well as their outcomes.The three MM patients with initially very low pCD34 counts all successfully underwent stem cell collection in a single trip to the transplant center for their ASCT.RESULTS Three patients whose pre-collection pCD34 counts were the lowest and less than 2.5 cells/μL were identified.These patients had the commonality of having multiple barriers to transportation and likely would have been able to make only one trip for the stem cell collections.CONCLUSION Despite particularly low pre-collection peripheral blood CD34 counts,successful autologous stem cell collection in MM patients is feasible by routinely adding plerixafor to granulocyte-colony stimulating factor on day 4 of mobilization.There is limited analysis demonstrating that sufficient stem cells for one or more transplants can be collected using this method.This practical and novel approach may benefit the high number of MM patients who face limited resources,finances,long travel times,and social support.These results are highly relevant to physicians treating similar patients.展开更多
Commercial value of cucumber is primarily driven by fruit quality.However,breeding goals frequently focus on production constraints caused by biotic and abiotic stresses.As sources of resistances are often present in ...Commercial value of cucumber is primarily driven by fruit quality.However,breeding goals frequently focus on production constraints caused by biotic and abiotic stresses.As sources of resistances are often present in unadapted germplasm,we sought to provide morphological and genetic information characterizing the diversity of fruit quality traits present in the CucCAP cucumber core collection.These 388 accessions representing>96%of the genetic diversity for cucumber present in the US National Plant Germplasm System harbor important sources of resistances and extensive morphological diversity.Data were collected for skin color,length/diameter ratio(L/D),tapering,curvature,and spine density for young fruits[5-7 days postpollination(dpp)],and length,diameter,L/D,skin color,netting,seed cavity size,flesh thickness,hollowness,and flesh color for mature fruits(30-40 dpp).Significant associations of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)with each trait were identified from genome-wide association studies.In several cases,quantitative trait loci(QTL)for highly correlated traits were closely clustered.Principal component analysis,driven primarily by the highly correlated traits of fruit length,young and mature L/D ratios,and curvature showed a clear divergence of East Asian accessions.Significant SNPs contributing to the longest fruits,including development-stage specific QTL,were distributed across multiple chromosomes,indicating broad genomic effects of selection.Many of the SNPs identified for the various morphological traits were in close vicinity to previously identified fruit trait QTL and candidate genes,while several novel genes potentially important for these traits were also identified.展开更多
Since COVID-19 has emerged and become a global health issue,an awareness of wearing face masks has been attentive to prevent the spread of the disease.Face masks that have become a part of daily life,may be encountere...Since COVID-19 has emerged and become a global health issue,an awareness of wearing face masks has been attentive to prevent the spread of the disease.Face masks that have become a part of daily life,may be encountered at crime scenes and serve as a potential source of DNA for human identification.This study developed a rapid method for obtaining abundant DNA from 3-layer disposable face masks.Ten healthy volunteers were recruited to wear the masks for a period of 2 h.The optimal method for retrieving DNA was determined to be direct cutting of the middle section of the mask’s inner layer.The average DNA concentrations from males and females were 0.1270±0.2337 ng/μL and 0.0699±0.1074 ng/μL,respectively,with no significant difference observed between the sexes(P=0.286).Furthermore,testing a smaller area(28 cm2)from the mouth-covering region still yielded sufficient DNA for STR genotyping(average 0.0255±0.0218 ng/μL).Comparison of the inner and the filter layers revealed that the filter layer contained significantly less DNA(average 0.0213±0.0203 ng/μL,P19 autosomal STR loci.This suggests that the method was suitable in DNA analysis when a face mask is found as forensic DNA evidence.展开更多
Wind turbine blades in cold regions are susceptible to icing due to meteorological conditions,significantly affecting the turbine's energy capture efficiency and operational safety.Precise calculation of droplet c...Wind turbine blades in cold regions are susceptible to icing due to meteorological conditions,significantly affecting the turbine's energy capture efficiency and operational safety.Precise calculation of droplet collection efficiency(DCE)is essential for accurate icing prediction.This study examines existing methods for calculating DCE and identifies limitations during glaze ice formation.An enhanced method based on the Euler Wall Film(EWF)model is introduced to address these limitations,incorporating splashing and rebound phenomena during glaze ice formation on wind turbine blades.The method's reliability is validated using data from the classic symmetric airfoil,NACA0012.Through the control variable method,this research examines DCE variations under different incoming velocities,medium volume droplet diameters(MVDs),and temperatures.The study also analyzes the distinctions between the improved method and the existing Eulerian method.Results indicate that both impact range and maximum DCE increase with higher incoming velocity and MVD,while temperature exhibits minimal influence on DCE.Variations between the calculation methods reveal differences in water droplet splashing intensity,primarily influenced by droplet kinetic energy and liquid film thickness.The splashing phenomenon gradually decreases as incoming velocity and MVD increase.展开更多

Adult sex estimation is one of the first and most important steps in forensic examination.While dealing with disturbed burials,the most dimorphic anatomic areas of the skeleton(such as the coxae,the skull and the head...Adult sex estimation is one of the first and most important steps in forensic examination.While dealing with disturbed burials,the most dimorphic anatomic areas of the skeleton(such as the coxae,the skull and the head of femur and humerus)may be deteriorated or fragmented.In contrast,the minimum supero-inferior femoral neck diameter(SID)is generally much better preserved.The aim of the present research is to identify the discriminatory potential of SID for sex estimation and to test different formulae and mathematical procedures currently available in the forensic literature,on a sample of 295 contemporary individuals from the 21st Century Identified Skeletal Collection(University of Coimbra,Portugal),in order to identify its relevance for application in Portuguese forensic cases.Results showed that SID is a dimorphic variable,with high frequencies and probabilities of cases correctly estimated(0.82 and 0.83,respectively);statistically significant differences between females and males,and a high association between the metrics and sex,were identified.Posterior probabilities allow reliable estimations for all the measurements,excepting those between 31.0 and 31.5 mm,and the procedures that show the highest accuracy are those proposed by Seidemann et al.(1998),Curate et al.(2016),and Luna et al.(2021).Adult sex estimation from in a contemporary osteological sample from Buenos Aires,Argentina,with frequencies and probabilities between 0.82 and 0.83 for both sexes.The validation procedures implemented in this study highlight both the need to test quantitative models generated from diverse contemporary human populations,and the value of SID for obtaining reliable adult sex estimates,as they improve the quality of the biological profiles obtained in forensic contexts.展开更多

The Revised Atlanta classification categorized these collections on the basis of duration of disease and contents, whether liquid alone or a mixture of fluid and necrotic debris. Management of these different types of collections differs because of the variable quantity of debris; while patients with pseudocysts can be drained by straight-forward stent placement, walledoff necrosis requires multi-disciplinary approach. Differentiating these collections on the basis of clinical severity alone is not reliable, so imaging is primarily performed. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography is the commonly used modality for the diagnosis and assessment of proportion of solid contents in PFCs; however with certain limitations such as use of iodinated contrast material especially in renal failure patients and radiation exposure. Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) performs better than computed tomography(CT) in characterization of pancreatic/peripancreatic fluid collections especially for quantification of solid debris and fat necrosis(seen as fat density globules), and is an alternative in those situations where CT is contraindicated. Also magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography is highly sensitive for detecting pancreatic duct disruption and choledocholithiasis. Endoscopic ultrasound is an evolving technique with higher reproducibility for fluid-to-debris component estimation with the added advantage of being a single stage procedure for both diagnosis(solid debris delineation) and management(drainage of collection) in the same sitting. Recently role of diffusion weighted MRI and positron emission tomography/CT with 18F-FDG labeled autologous leukocytes is also emerging for detection of infection noninvasively. Comparative studies between these imaging modalities are still limited. However we look forward to a time when this gap in literature will be fulfilled.展开更多

Methods: A total of 60 neonates undergoing heel blood sampling at Friendship Hospital of Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang from January 2021 to January 2025 were enrolled and divided into two groups based on differences in actual nursing protocols: a control group (traditional blood collection techniques supplemented with routine care) and an observation group (refined blood collection techniques combined with systematic nursing care), each comprising 30 cases. Comparison was conducted regarding blood sampling success rate, sampling time, neonatal pain scores, post-procedural adverse reactions, and parental satisfaction. Results: The observation group demonstrated higher success rates per procedure and lower failure rates compared to the control group (P <0.05). Sampling time was significantly shorter in the observation group (P <0.05). Neonatal pain scores were statistically lower in the observation group (P <0.05). The incidence of post-procedural adverse reactions was significantly reduced in the observation group (P <0.05). Overall parental satisfaction was significantly higher in the observation group (P <0.05). Conclusion: The application of refined blood collection techniques combined with systematic nursing care enhances the success rate of neonatal heel blood sampling, reduces sampling time, alleviates pain during the procedure, minimizes adverse reactions, and potentially improves parental satisfaction with medical services.

摘要Objective:To explore the application effect of the intelligent blood collection system in the outpatient blood collection of cancer specialized hospitals,and to provide a basis for improving the quality of outpatient blood collection nursing and the medical experience of patients.Methods:136,274 blood specimens collected using the traditional manual blood collection mode from January to June 2020 were selected as the control group,and 176,989 blood specimens collected using the intelligent blood collection system from January to June 2021 were selected as the observation group.The blood collection process time,blood specimen quality,incidence of adverse events and patient satisfaction of the two groups were compared.Measurement data were expressed as x±s and analyzed by t-test.Counting data were expressed as cases(%),and theχ2test was used.A p value<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results:The registration and number collection time,specimen submission time and total process time of the observation group were significantly shorter than those of the control group(p<0.001).The total error rate of blood samples decreased from 0.374%to 0.050%,and the error rate of blood collection tube usage decreased from 3.8%to 0.7%.The patient satisfaction rate increased from 88%to 96%,and the differences were statistically significant(p<0.05).Conclusion:The intelligent blood collection system can optimize the outpatient blood collection process,shorten the service duration,reduce the error rate of specimens,improve the efficiency of nursing and patient satisfaction,and has good application value in the outpatient blood collection management of tumor specialized hospitals.
摘要Over the past three decades,the academic community has conducted multi-dimensional research on the“Collections Division”(Ji Bu)within China’s traditional four-category classification system,covering such topics as the evolution of bibliography,the differentiation of subcategories,critical concepts of classics,and the transformation to modern disciplines.At the bibliographical level,scholars have examined the evolution from the establishment of the Collections Division in the Record of Sui Dynasty to the bibliographical classification of the Song Dynasty,revealing the interactive relationship between literary concepts and classification systems.Regarding subcategory research,issues including the aesthetics of ci poetry,the classification of qu genres,and the transmission of ci collections have attracted attention,reflecting an academic orientation toward exploring the internal structure of the Collections Division through specific documents.In terms of modern transformation,the focus has been on how scholars represented by Qian Jibo transformed the“Study of the Collections Division”into a modern literary discipline,demonstrating the continuation and adaptation of traditional knowledge systems in modern and contemporary academic construction.Existing research has not only enriched the understanding of documents and literary concepts in the Collections Division but also provided an important reference for re-examining the indigenous literary lineage of China.

摘要Objective:To systematically evaluate the application effect of a self-developed teaching case collection for emergency nursing courses and explore its value in enhancing students’core clinical competencies.Methods:Based on the characteristics of nursing education and the training requirements for higher vocational students,a teaching case collection suitable for the nursing major was constructed.Students enrolled in the nursing major in Grade 2022 were selected as the control group(traditional teaching mode,n=1081),and students in Grade 2023 were selected as the experimental group(case-based teaching mode,n=1038).The control group received conventional theoretical and practical teaching,while the experimental group received case-based teaching using the case collection in addition to conventional teaching.Self-designed questionnaires were used to survey the control group,clinical instructors,and external review experts.Objective evaluations were conducted through theoretical tests and objective structured clinical examinations for both groups.The two groups were compared in terms of theoretical scores,practical skills,autonomous learning ability,and teaching satisfaction.Results:A teaching case collection containing 33 cases covering 10 symptoms(such as dyspnea,chest pain,and abdominal pain)was successfully constructed.The experimental group showed significantly better results than the control group in theoretical scores(86.54±6.32 vs.78.21±7.85),practical scores(88.92±5.14 vs.81.45±6.73),and total autonomous learning ability scores(85.37±8.21 vs.74.56±9.03)(all P<0.05).Additionally,91.67%of students were satisfied with the case-based teaching mode,95.83%believed case teaching improved clinical thinking ability,and 97.22%of instructors felt that the case collection enhanced lesson preparation efficiency and teaching effectiveness.Conclusion:The“Emergency Nursing Teaching Case Collection”fills the gap in systematic teaching cases for emergency nursing.Compared with traditional teaching,the case-based teaching mode more effectively improves students’comprehensive competencies and has been widely recognized by both students and instructors,providing effective resource support for the reform of emergency nursing teaching.
摘要The sponge city rainwater collection technology is applied in the drainage system of municipal roads, which is a key measure for promoting urban ecological construction, alleviating water shortage, and solving road flooding problems. It covers the entire process of rainwater collection, storage, purification, and utilization, directly influencing the stability and ecological benefits of the municipal road drainage system. Based on the practical experience of municipal road engineering and combined with the concept of sponge city construction, this paper optimizes the application scheme of rainwater collection technology in road drainage, integrating practical technologies such as L-shaped integrated side curb stones and permeable pavement. Through process improvement, equipment optimization, and system coordination, the utilization rate of rainwater collection and the efficiency of drainage are enhanced. The feasibility and effectiveness of the optimized scheme are verified through specific project practice. The data shows that the optimized technology application can increase the road rainwater collection volume by 3800 cubic meters per year, reduce the duration of road water accumulation by a total of 45 hours per year, and lower the annual operation and maintenance cost of the drainage system by 126,000 yuan. These achievements provide technical support and practical references for the ecological and efficient upgrade of the municipal road drainage system.

摘要Objectives:This study aimed to explore the characteristics of outpatient blood collection center visit fluctuation and nursing workforce allocation based on a time series model,and the application effect was evaluated.Methods:To enhance the efficiency of phlebotomy at the hospital outpatient window and improve patient satisfaction,the First Affliated Hospital with Nanjing Medical University implemented a time series analysis model in 2024 to optimize nursing staff allocation.The management team was led by a head nurse of the outpatient blood collection department with extensive experience.It included one director of the nursing department,six senior clinical nurses,one informatics expert,and one nursing master's degree holder.Retrospective time-series data from the hospital's smart blood collection system(including hourly blood collection volumes and waiting times)were extracted between January 2020 and December 2023.Time series analysis was used to identify annual,seasonal,monthly,and hourly variation patterns in blood collection volumes.Seasonal decomposition and the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average Model(ARIMA)were employed to forecast blood collection fluctuations for 2024 and facilitate dynamic scheduling.A comparison was conducted to evaluate differences in blood collection efficiency and patient satisfaction before(January-June 2023)and after(January-June 2024)implementing the dynamic scheduling model based on the time series analysis and forecasting.Results:Visit volumes showed periodicity and slow growth,peaking every second and third quarter of the year and daily at 8:00-9:00 a.m.and 2:00-3:00 p.m.The ARIMA model demonstrated a good fit(R2=0.692,mean absolute percentage error=8.28%).After adjusting the nursing staff allocation based on the fluctuation characteristics of the number of phlebotomy per hour in the time series analysis model,at the peak period of the blood collection window,at least three nurses,one mobile nurse and two volunteers were added.The number of phlebotomy per hour increased from 289.74±54.55 to 327.53±37.84 person-time(t=-10.041,P<0.01),waiting time decreased from 5.79±2.68 to 4.01±0.46 min(t=11.531,P<0.01),and satisfaction rose from 92.7%to 97.3%(χ2=6.877,P<0.05).Conclusions:Based on the time series analysis method,it is helpful for nursing managers to accurately allocate human resources and optimize the efficiency of outpatient service resources by mining the special change rule of the outpatient blood collection window and predicting the future fluctuation trend.
摘要BACKGROUND The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate a practical stem cell collection method that provides sufficient stem cells for autologous stem cell transplantation(ASCT)in multiple myeloma(MM)patients despite low peripheral CD34(pCD34)counts and to describe the benefits of this method for MM patients with limited resources.AIM To demonstrate a practical method for stem cell collection.METHODS Stem cell collection data on the last 300 patients at a community cancer center in Washington were reviewed.We report on the methods of collection,including medi-cations used and timing,used by the blood blank as well as their outcomes.The three MM patients with initially very low pCD34 counts all successfully underwent stem cell collection in a single trip to the transplant center for their ASCT.RESULTS Three patients whose pre-collection pCD34 counts were the lowest and less than 2.5 cells/μL were identified.These patients had the commonality of having multiple barriers to transportation and likely would have been able to make only one trip for the stem cell collections.CONCLUSION Despite particularly low pre-collection peripheral blood CD34 counts,successful autologous stem cell collection in MM patients is feasible by routinely adding plerixafor to granulocyte-colony stimulating factor on day 4 of mobilization.There is limited analysis demonstrating that sufficient stem cells for one or more transplants can be collected using this method.This practical and novel approach may benefit the high number of MM patients who face limited resources,finances,long travel times,and social support.These results are highly relevant to physicians treating similar patients.

摘要Commercial value of cucumber is primarily driven by fruit quality.However,breeding goals frequently focus on production constraints caused by biotic and abiotic stresses.As sources of resistances are often present in unadapted germplasm,we sought to provide morphological and genetic information characterizing the diversity of fruit quality traits present in the CucCAP cucumber core collection.These 388 accessions representing>96%of the genetic diversity for cucumber present in the US National Plant Germplasm System harbor important sources of resistances and extensive morphological diversity.Data were collected for skin color,length/diameter ratio(L/D),tapering,curvature,and spine density for young fruits[5-7 days postpollination(dpp)],and length,diameter,L/D,skin color,netting,seed cavity size,flesh thickness,hollowness,and flesh color for mature fruits(30-40 dpp).Significant associations of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)with each trait were identified from genome-wide association studies.In several cases,quantitative trait loci(QTL)for highly correlated traits were closely clustered.Principal component analysis,driven primarily by the highly correlated traits of fruit length,young and mature L/D ratios,and curvature showed a clear divergence of East Asian accessions.Significant SNPs contributing to the longest fruits,including development-stage specific QTL,were distributed across multiple chromosomes,indicating broad genomic effects of selection.Many of the SNPs identified for the various morphological traits were in close vicinity to previously identified fruit trait QTL and candidate genes,while several novel genes potentially important for these traits were also identified.
摘要Since COVID-19 has emerged and become a global health issue,an awareness of wearing face masks has been attentive to prevent the spread of the disease.Face masks that have become a part of daily life,may be encountered at crime scenes and serve as a potential source of DNA for human identification.This study developed a rapid method for obtaining abundant DNA from 3-layer disposable face masks.Ten healthy volunteers were recruited to wear the masks for a period of 2 h.The optimal method for retrieving DNA was determined to be direct cutting of the middle section of the mask’s inner layer.The average DNA concentrations from males and females were 0.1270±0.2337 ng/μL and 0.0699±0.1074 ng/μL,respectively,with no significant difference observed between the sexes(P=0.286).Furthermore,testing a smaller area(28 cm2)from the mouth-covering region still yielded sufficient DNA for STR genotyping(average 0.0255±0.0218 ng/μL).Comparison of the inner and the filter layers revealed that the filter layer contained significantly less DNA(average 0.0213±0.0203 ng/μL,P19 autosomal STR loci.This suggests that the method was suitable in DNA analysis when a face mask is found as forensic DNA evidence.

摘要Wind turbine blades in cold regions are susceptible to icing due to meteorological conditions,significantly affecting the turbine's energy capture efficiency and operational safety.Precise calculation of droplet collection efficiency(DCE)is essential for accurate icing prediction.This study examines existing methods for calculating DCE and identifies limitations during glaze ice formation.An enhanced method based on the Euler Wall Film(EWF)model is introduced to address these limitations,incorporating splashing and rebound phenomena during glaze ice formation on wind turbine blades.The method's reliability is validated using data from the classic symmetric airfoil,NACA0012.Through the control variable method,this research examines DCE variations under different incoming velocities,medium volume droplet diameters(MVDs),and temperatures.The study also analyzes the distinctions between the improved method and the existing Eulerian method.Results indicate that both impact range and maximum DCE increase with higher incoming velocity and MVD,while temperature exhibits minimal influence on DCE.Variations between the calculation methods reveal differences in water droplet splashing intensity,primarily influenced by droplet kinetic energy and liquid film thickness.The splashing phenomenon gradually decreases as incoming velocity and MVD increase.

摘要Adult sex estimation is one of the first and most important steps in forensic examination.While dealing with disturbed burials,the most dimorphic anatomic areas of the skeleton(such as the coxae,the skull and the head of femur and humerus)may be deteriorated or fragmented.In contrast,the minimum supero-inferior femoral neck diameter(SID)is generally much better preserved.The aim of the present research is to identify the discriminatory potential of SID for sex estimation and to test different formulae and mathematical procedures currently available in the forensic literature,on a sample of 295 contemporary individuals from the 21st Century Identified Skeletal Collection(University of Coimbra,Portugal),in order to identify its relevance for application in Portuguese forensic cases.Results showed that SID is a dimorphic variable,with high frequencies and probabilities of cases correctly estimated(0.82 and 0.83,respectively);statistically significant differences between females and males,and a high association between the metrics and sex,were identified.Posterior probabilities allow reliable estimations for all the measurements,excepting those between 31.0 and 31.5 mm,and the procedures that show the highest accuracy are those proposed by Seidemann et al.(1998),Curate et al.(2016),and Luna et al.(2021).Adult sex estimation from in a contemporary osteological sample from Buenos Aires,Argentina,with frequencies and probabilities between 0.82 and 0.83 for both sexes.The validation procedures implemented in this study highlight both the need to test quantitative models generated from diverse contemporary human populations,and the value of SID for obtaining reliable adult sex estimates,as they improve the quality of the biological profiles obtained in forensic contexts.
摘要Data collection serves as the cornerstone in the study of clinical research questions.Two types of data are commonly utilized in medicine:(1)Qualitative;and(2)Quantitative.Several methods are commonly employed to gather data,regardless of whether retrospective or prospective studies are used:(1)Interviews;(2)Observational methods;(3)Questionnaires;(4)Investigation parameters;(5)Medical records;and(6)Electronic chart reviews.Each source type has its own advantages and cons in terms of the accuracy and availability of the data to be extracted.We will focus on the important parts of the research methodology:(1)Data collection;and(2)Subgroup analyses.Errors in research can arise from various sources,including investigators,instruments,and subjects,making the validation and reliability of research tools crucial for ensuring the credibility of findings.Subgroup analyses can either be planned before or emerge after(post-hoc)treatment.The interpretation of subgroup effects should consider the interaction between treatment effect and various patient variables with caution.

摘要This study examines the Big Data Collection and Preprocessing course at Anhui Institute of Information Engineering,implementing a hybrid teaching reform using the Bosi Smart Learning Platform.The proposed hybrid model follows a“three-stage”and“two-subject”framework,incorporating a structured design for teaching content and assessment methods before,during,and after class.Practical results indicate that this approach significantly enhances teaching effectiveness and improves students’learning autonomy.
摘要Pancreatic fluid collections(PFCs) are seen in up to 50% of cases of acute pancreatitis. The Revised Atlanta classification categorized these collections on the basis of duration of disease and contents, whether liquid alone or a mixture of fluid and necrotic debris. Management of these different types of collections differs because of the variable quantity of debris; while patients with pseudocysts can be drained by straight-forward stent placement, walledoff necrosis requires multi-disciplinary approach. Differentiating these collections on the basis of clinical severity alone is not reliable, so imaging is primarily performed. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography is the commonly used modality for the diagnosis and assessment of proportion of solid contents in PFCs; however with certain limitations such as use of iodinated contrast material especially in renal failure patients and radiation exposure. Magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) performs better than computed tomography(CT) in characterization of pancreatic/peripancreatic fluid collections especially for quantification of solid debris and fat necrosis(seen as fat density globules), and is an alternative in those situations where CT is contraindicated. Also magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography is highly sensitive for detecting pancreatic duct disruption and choledocholithiasis. Endoscopic ultrasound is an evolving technique with higher reproducibility for fluid-to-debris component estimation with the added advantage of being a single stage procedure for both diagnosis(solid debris delineation) and management(drainage of collection) in the same sitting. Recently role of diffusion weighted MRI and positron emission tomography/CT with 18F-FDG labeled autologous leukocytes is also emerging for detection of infection noninvasively. Comparative studies between these imaging modalities are still limited. However we look forward to a time when this gap in literature will be fulfilled.
