The Variable Stator Vanes(VSV)system ensures the smooth operation of the highpressure compressor by adjusting the vane angles to prevent surge, and the dynamic behavior of its multistage vanes directly affects its service performance. To investigate the dynamic behavior of the spatial VSV multi-vane mechanism,a positional constraint equation for the VSV mechanism was established, and the numerical expressions of the Jacobian matrices for different kinematic pair constraint equations were derived. The Lagrange multiplier method was modified for spatial rotation, and an ideal dynamic model of the spatial VSV multi-vane mechanism was developed. The computational results indicate that the dynamic behavior of different vanes within the same stage is similar, and the constraint moment experienced by vanes at different positions has a linear relationship with their centroid coordinates. This study expands the dynamic modeling methods for spatial mechanisms and provides a foundation for researching the frictional dynamic behavior of VSV mechanisms with clearance. 展开更多

An integrated dynamic model updating method is proposed to address the challenges of mode jumping and mode degeneracy for complex dynamic models.A reduced order proxy model of Neural Network Response Surface(NNRS)was constructed by Modal Matching Reconstruction Strategy(MMRS)and an Improved Vectorial Surrogate Model(IVSM).Among them, the analytical modes are correctly matched with the experimental modes by MMRS,and the order of the mode matching is determined by calculating the Modal Assurance Criterion(MAC),addressing the dynamic changes of the mode matching order during the construction of the NNRS.The fitted NNRS model results are vectorized by IVSM,enabling the rapid extraction of required input and output parameters under multi-parameter conditions, thereby improving efficiency. The model parameters are updated using a multi-objective genetic algorithm, which achieves the simultaneous updating of natural frequency and mode shape. To validate the accuracy and efficiency,an intermediate casing of a gas turbine was updated using the proposed method. With high efficiency, the mean absolute error of natural frequency for the matched order decreased from 24.46%to 3.89%,while the corresponding average MAC value increased from 0.654 to 0.752. 展开更多

The stick-slip vibration of the disc brake system at low speed is caused by the interaction of multiple factors. This paper focuses on the disc brake system of the high-speed train as the research object, establishing three-and four-degree-of-freedom(DOF)dynamic models considering wheel-rail adhesion and nonlinear friction, and the model’s accuracy was confirmed through line testing. The system stability,stick-slip bifurcation characteristics, and key factors affecting stick-slip vibration are analyzed through models simulation. The results demonstrated that compared with the three-DOF model, the over-evaluation of the system stability can be avoided after considering the normal motion. In the three-DOF model, the main factor inducing chaotic stick-slip vibration is the tangential stiffness. In the four-DOF model, the tangential stiffness mainly changes the amplitude, while the normal stiffness is the main factor causing vibration chaos.Additionally, damping has a minimal impact on the occurrence of chaotic stick-slip vibration.Optimal ranges for brake disc rotational inertia(5-9 kg·m2and 11-22 kg·m2)and friction pad mass(7-17 kg)were further identified, effectively mitigating the occurrence of chaotic stick-slip vibration. 展开更多

In-space cable-driven manipulators exhibit several advantages, such as a large range of motion, high dexterity, and lightweight structure. However, kinematic and dynamic analysis play an essential role in designing a cable-driven manipulator. In this paper, the kinematic analysis of a type of cable-driven manipulator is performed, and a motion planning scheme is conducted to actuate this manipulator. Moreover,a flexible multi-body dynamic model of a cable-driven manipulator considering the frictional contact between the cables and pulleys is established. To describe properties such as flexibility, vibration, and variable length of the cable, this paper utilizes reducedorder beam elements of the Absolute Nodal Coordinates Formulation(ANCF)in Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian(ALE)framework.Additionally,a virtual element is introduced to model the contact segment in the cable-pulley system.A tension decay factor is employed to account for the friction in the contact segment. To validate the proposed method,a semi-analytical model based on D'Alembert's principle is established.Cross-verification is performed to validate the accuracy of both models. The model is further applied to simulate the rotation of the cable-driven manipulator with different structural parameters and frictional factors. The results from the analyses provide valuable guidance for the design and motion control of the in-space cable-driven manipulator. Finally,a prototype of a single module is manufactured and tested.Ground experiments are carried out to verify the kinematic and dynamic models. 展开更多

As a common fault of the aero-engine,the blade-casing rubbing(BCR)has the potential to cause catastrophic accidents. In this paper,to investigate the dynamic responses and wear characteristics of the system, the laminated shell element is used to establish the finite element model(FEM)of a flexibly coated casing system.Using the shell element, the blade is modeled, and the surface stress of the blade is calculated. The stress-solving method of the blade is validated through comparisons with the measured time-domain waveform of the stress. Then,a dynamic model of a blade-flexibly coated casing system with rubbing is proposed, accounting for the time-varying mass and stiffness of the casing caused by coating wear. The effects of the proposed flexible casing model are compared with those of a rigid casing model, and the stress changes induced by rubbing are investigated. The results show that the natural characteristics of the coated casing decrease due to the coating wear. The flexibly coated casing model is found to be more suitable for studying casing vibration.Additionally, the stress changes caused by rubbing are slight, and the change in the stress maximum is approximately 5%under the influence of the abrasive coating. 展开更多

Currently, there are a limited number of dynamic models available for braided composite plates with large overall motions, despite the incorporation of three-dimensional(3D)braided composites into rotating blade components. In this paper,a dynamic model of 3D 4-directional braided composite thin plates considering braiding directions is established.Based on Kirchhoff's plate assumptions, the displacement variables of the plate are expressed.By incorporating the braiding directions into the constitutive equation of the braided composites, the dynamic model of the plate considering braiding directions is obtained. The effects of the speeds, braiding directions, and braided angles on the responses of the plate with fixed-axis rotation and translational motion, respectively, are investigated. This paper presents a dynamic theory for calculating the deformation of 3D braided composite structures undergoing both translational and rotational motions. It also provides a simulation method for investigating the dynamic behavior of non-isotropic material plates in various applications. 展开更多

This paper presents a dynamic modeling method to test and examine the minimum mass of pressurized pore-gas for triggering landslides in stable gentle soil slopes.A stable gentle soil slope model is constructed with a dry cement powder core,a saturated clay middle layer, and a dry sand upper layer. The test injects H2O2solution into the cement core to produce new pore-gas.The model test includes three identical H2O2injections.The small mass of generated oxygen gas(0.07%of slope soil mass and landslide body)from the first injection can build sufficient pore-gas pressure to cause soil upheaval and slide.Meanwhile, despite the first injection causing leak paths in the clay layer, the generated small mass of gas from the second and third injections can further trigger the landslide.A dynamic theoretical analysis of the slope failure is carried out and the required minimum pore-gas pressure for the landslide is calculated. The mass and pressure of generated gas in the model test are also estimated based on the calibration test for oxygen generation from H2O2solution in cement powder. The results indicate that the minimum mass of the generated gas for triggering the landslide is 2 ppm to 0.07%of the landslide body.Furthermore, the small mass of gas can provide sufficient pressure to cause soil upheaval and soil sliding in dynamic analysis. 展开更多

This study aims to develop an accurate calculation model of transmission torque and load-bearing capacity for hydro-viscous clutches(HVC)used in high-power vehicles, which is important to investigate the step-less speed regulation characteristics in a fan drive system. However, most of the existing models ignore the distribution differences of groove area along the radial direction, which may lead to significant deviations in calculating the mechanical property of friction pairs related to operating conditions and the engagement process. To fill this gap,a new calculation model for bearing capacity and frictional torque of friction pairs with different oil grooves is proposed,in which the traditional fixed contact area ratio coefficient for oil groove measurement is replaced by a more precise discrete micro-ring area ratio(DMAR)integration method. Then,a 32-degree-of-freedoms dynamic model of HVC at a fan drive system is established for the prediction of dynamic responses during speed regulation. Results show that friction pairs with different oil grooves have a direct influence on frictional torque and bearing capacity through the change of DMAR along the radial direction. The friction pairs with different groove structures have oscillation phenomena at the engagement steady-state boundary.Furthermore,a step-less speed regulation experimental setup is established to verify the correctness of the proposed model. It is demonstrated that the axial engagement force and the speed regulation curve predicted by the proposed method are in good agreement with the experimental data. The results could effectively predict the engagement dynamic characteristics. The numerical relationship among the structure parameters, the mechanical properties of friction pairs, and the speed regulation characteristics of the system are established through the proposed model, which lays a theoretical foundation for the structure design of friction plates and optimization of step-less speed regulation performance. 展开更多

The complex nonlinear characteristics of pneumatic soft actuators, such as asymmetric hysteresis,rate-dependence,and mechanical load-dependence,pose a challenge in accurately modeling their dynamics. To address this challenge, this paper proposes a comprehensive dynamic model aimed at describing bidirectional asymmetric hysteresis,rate-dependent,and mechanical load-dependent characteristics of a vertical pneumatic bellows actuator(PBA)system. The dynamic model contains a hysteresis submodel and a load-dependent dynamic submodel. The hysteresis submodel consists of several sets of weighted double-side play(DSP)and weighted dead-zone(DZ)operators connected in series, and it is used to model the bidirectional asymmetric hysteresis of the system. The load-dependent dynamic submodel is built based on the gated recurrent unit(GRU)neural network, and it is used to fit the nonlinear relationship between the displacement of the system and the frequency of the input air pressure as well as the mechanical load. The model parameters of the hysteresis submodel and the loaddependent dynamic submodel are determined by intelligent optimization method and neural network training method, reseparately. The fitness value(FV)between the output of the dynamic model and the experimental data is calculated to be 96.1736%,demonstrating that the parameters of the dynamic model are valid. We conduct six set of experiments to compare the model output with the experimental data, and calculate the root-meansquare errors and the maximum error, respectively. The experimental results show that, the root-mean-square error remains consistently below 2.7700%,while the maximum error remains below 8.4000%across all experiments, thereby substantiating the validity and generality of the proposed model. 展开更多

PETREL, a winged hybrid-driven underwater glider is a novel and practical marine survey platform which combines the features of legacy underwater glider and conventional AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle). It can be treated as a multi-rigid-body system with a floating base and a particular hydrodynamic profile. In this paper, theorems on linear and angular momentum are used to establish the dynamic equations of motion of each rigid body and the effect of translational and rotational motion of internal masses on the attitude control are taken into consideration. In addition, due to the unique external shape with fixed wings and deflectable rudders and the dual-drive operation in thrust and glide modes, the approaches of building dynamic model of conventional AUV and hydrodynamic model of submarine are introduced, and the tailored dynamic equations of the hybrid glider are formulated. Moreover, the behaviors of motion in glide and thrust operation are analyzed based on the simulation and the feasibility of the dynamic model is validated by data from lake field trials. 展开更多

There exists a lot of research on the nonlinear vibration of the pipeline system with different boundary conditions. To the best of our knowledge, little research on the actual constraint of the clamp has been performed. In this paper, according to hysteresis loops of the clamp obtained from experimental test, the simplified bilinear stiffness and damping model is proposed. Then the Finite Element(FE)model of L-type pipeline system with clamps is established using Timoshenko beam theory in combination with aforementioned stiffness-damping model. Both hammering and shaker tests verify the FE model via the comparisons of natural frequencies and vibration responses. The results show that the maximum errors of natural frequencies and vibration responses are about 8.31%and 17.6%,respectively.The proposed model can simulate the dynamic characteristics of the L-type pipeline system with clamps well, which is helpful to provide some guidance for the early design stage of pipeline in aero-engine. 展开更多

Two combination methods are proposed. In one method, historical data is introduced into the grey time series model to predict future trend of measurement values in chemical process. These predicted measurements are then used in the dynamic model to retrieve the change of fault parameters by model based diagnosis algorithm. In another method, historical data is introduced directly into the dynamic model to retrieve historical fault parameters by model based diagnosis algorithm. These parameters are then predicted by the grey time series model. The two methods are applied to a gravity tank example. The case study demonstrates that the first method is more accurate for fault prediction. 展开更多

In space operation, flexible manipulators and gripper mechanisms have been widely used because of light weight and flexibility. However, the vibration caused by slender structures in manipulators and the parameter perturbation caused by the uncertainty derived from grasping mass variation cannot be ignored. The existence of vibration and parameter perturbation makes the rotation control of flexible manipulators difficult, which seriously affects the operation accuracy of manipulators. What’s more, the complex dynamic coupling brings great challenges to the dynamics modeling and vibration analysis. To solve this problem, this paper takes the space flexible manipulator with an underactuated hand(SFMUH)as the research object. The dynamics model considering flexibility, multiple nonlinear elements and disturbance torque is established by the assumed modal method(AMM)and Hamilton’s principle.A dynamic modeling simplification method is proposed by analyzing the nonlinear terms. What’s more,a sliding mode control(SMC)method combined with the radial basis function(RBF)neural network compensation is proposed.Besides, the control law is designed using a saturation function in the control method to weaken the chatter phenomenon. With the help of neural networks to identify the uncertainty composition in the SFMUH,the tracking accuracy is improved. The results of ground control experiments verify the advantages of the control method for vibration suppression of the SFMUH. 展开更多

Roller chain drives are widely used in various high-speed, high-load and power transmission applications, but their complex dynamic behavior is not well researched. Most studies were only focused on the analysis of the vibration of chain tight span, and in these models, many factors are neglected. In this paper, a mathematical model is developed to calculate the dynamic response of a roller chain drive working at constant or variable speed condition. In the model, the complete chain transmission with two sprockets and the necessary tight and slack spans is used. The effect of the flexibility of input shaft on dynamic response of the chain system is taken into account, as well as the elastic deformation in the chain, the inertial forces, the gravity and the torque on driven shaft. The nonlinear equations of movement are derived from using Lagrange equations and solved numerically. Given the center distance and the two initial position angles of teeth on driving and driven sprockets corresponding to the first seating roller on each side of the tight span, dynamics of any roller chain drive with two sprockets and two spans can be analyzed by the procedure. Finally, a numerical example is given and the validity of the procedure developed is demonstrated by analyzing the dynamic behavior of a typical roller chain drive. The model can well simulate the transverse and longitudinal vibration of the chain spans and the torsional vibration of the sprockets. This study can provide an effective method for the analysis of the dynamic characteristics of all the chain drive systems. 展开更多

In this model, the non-uniform flexible tail was modeled by a rotary slender beam. The hydrodynamics forces, including the reactive force and resistive force, were analyzed in order to derive the governing equation. This equation is a fourth-order in space and second-order in time Partial Differential Equation (PDE) of the lateral movement function. The coefficients of this PDE were not constants because of the non-uniform beams, so they were approximated by exponential functions in order to obtain an analytical solution. This solution describes the lateral movement of the flexible tail as a function of material, geometrical and actuator properties. Experiments were then carried out and compared to simulations. It was proved that the proposed model is suitable for predicting the real behavior of fish robots. 展开更多

Aiming at handling complicated maneuvers or other unpredicted emergencies for hypersonic glide vehicle tracking, three coupled dynamic models of state estimation based on the priori information between guidance variables and aerodynamics are presented. Firstly, the aerodynamic acceleration acting on the target is analyzed to reveal the essence of the target’s motion. Then three coupled structures for modeling aerodynamic parameters are developed by different ideas: the spiral model with a harmonic oscillator, the bank model with trigonometric functions of the bank angle and the guide model with the changing rule of guidance variables. Meanwhile, the comparison discussion is concluded to show the novelty and advantage of these models. Finally, a performance assessment in different simulation cases is presented and detailed analysis is revealed. The results show that the proposed models perform excellent properties. Moreover, the guide model produces the best tracking performance and the bank model shows the second; however, the spiral model does not outperform the maneuvering reentry vehicle(MaRV) model markedly. 展开更多
