The Fe3O4@SiO2 composite nanoparticles were obtained from as-synthesized magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles through the modified St?ber method. Then, the Fe3O4 nanoparticles and Fe3O4@SiO2 composite nanoparticles were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectra, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Recently, the studies focus on how to improve the dispersion of composite particle and achieve good magnetic performance. Hence effects of the volume ratio of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and magnetite colloid on the structural, morphological and magnetic properties of the composite nanoparticles were systematically investi-gated. The results revealed that the Fe3O4@SiO2 had better thermal stability and dispersion than the magnetite nanoparticles. Furthermore, the particle size and magnetic property of the Fe3O4@SiO2 composite nanoparticles can be adjusted by changing the volume ratio of TEOS and magnetite colloid. 展开更多

MgAl2O4 particle-reinforced AC4C based alloy composites were fabricated by the stirring-casting method. The effects of the average sizes and the size distributions of MgAl2O4 particles on the dispersibility were investigated, and the microstructures, strength, and fatigue properties of MgAl2O4 particle-reinforced AC4C based alloy composites were evaluated. Tensile strength in the MgAl2O4 particle-reinforced AC4C based alloy composite was increased by using the classified particles. The fatigue limit at 107 cycles in the MgA1204 particle-reinforced AC4C-Cu composite increased by 27% compared to the unreinforced alloy at 250 ~C. Dislocations were observed in the matrix around the MgAl204 particle which resulted from the mismatch of thermal expansion coefficients between MgAl2O4 and Al, and resisted failure and caused fatigue cracks to propagate around the MgAl2O4 particles, resulting in extensive crack deflection and crack bowing which contributed to the improvement of fatigue strength. 展开更多

Total dose effects and single event effects on radiation-hardened power vertical double-diffusion metal oxide semiconductor(VDMOS) devices with composite SiO2-Si3N4 film gates are investigated.The relationships among the important electrical parameters of the samples with different thickness SiO2-Si3N4 films,such as threshold voltage,breakdown voltage,and on-state resistance in accumulated dose,are discussed.The total dose experiment results show that the breakdown voltage and the on-state resistance barely change with the accumulated dose.However,the relationships between the threshold voltages of the samples and the accumulated dose are more complex,and not only positively drift,but also negatively drift.At the end of the total dose experiment,we select the group of samples which have the smaller threshold voltage shift to carry out the single event effect studies.We find that the samples with appropriate thickness ratio SiO2-Si3N4 films have a good radiation-hardening ability.This method may be useful in solving both the SEGR and the total dose problems with the composite SiO2-Si3N4 films. 展开更多

A silicon dioxide fiber-reinforced silicon nitride matrix (SiOJSi3N4) composite used for radomes was prepared by chemical vapor infiltration (CVI) process using the SiCl4-NH3-H2 system. The effects of the process conditions, including infiltration temperature, infiltration time, and gas flux were investigated. The energy dispersion spectra (EDS) result showed that the main elements of this composite contained Si, N, and O. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) results indicated that phases of the composite before and after treatment at 1350℃ were all amorphous. A little fiber pull-out was observed on the cross section of the composite by scan electron microscope (SEM). As a result, the composite exhibited good thermal stability, but an appropriate interface was necessary between the fiber and the matrix. 展开更多

Using low-cost FePO4·2H2O as iron source,Na2FePO4F/C composite is prepared by alcohol-assisted ball milling and solid-state reaction method.The XRD pattern of Na2FePO4F/C composite demonstrates sharp peaks,indicating high crystalline and phase purity.The SEM and TEM images reveal that diameter of the spherical-like Na2FePO4F/C particles ranges from 50 to 300 nm,and HRTEM image shows that the surface of Na2FePO4F/C composite is uniformly coated by carbon layer with a average thickness of about 3.6 nm.The carbon coating constrains the growth of the particles and effectively reduces the agglomeration of nanoparticles.Using lithium metal as anode,the composite delivers a discharge capacities of 102.8,96.4 and 90.3 mA·h/g at rates of 0.5C,1C and 2C,respectively.After 100 cycles at 0.5C,a discharge capacity of 98.9 mA·h/g is maintained with capacity retention of 96.2%.The Li+diffusion coefficient(D)of Na2FePO4F/C composite is calculated as 1.71×10^–9 cm^2/s.This study reveals that the simple solid state reaction could be a practical and effective synthetic route for the industrial production of Na2FePO4F/C material. 展开更多

Aluminum-matrix boron carbide (B4Cp/Al) is a kind of neutron absorbing material widely used in nuclear spent fuel storage. In order to improve the tensile property of B4Cp/Al composites, a new type of nano-Al2O3 particle (Al2O3np) reinforced B4Cp/Al + Al2O3np composites were prepared by powder metallurgy method. The Monte Carlo particle transport program (MCNP) was used to determine the influence of Al2O3np on the thermal neutron absorptivity of composites. The universal material testing machine and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used to study the mechanical properties, microstructure and fracture morphology of B4Cp/Al composites. The results indicated that the neutron absorption properties of B4Cp/Al composites were not affected by the addition of nano-Al2O3 particles in the range of 1 wt%-15 wt%. The addition of Al2O3np can obviously reduce the grain size of B4Cp/Al matrix metals thus improve the tensile strength of the composites. The addition threshold of Al2O3np is about 2.5 wt%. Both B4Cp and Al2O3np change the fracture characteristics of the composites from toughness to brittleness, and the latter is more important. 展开更多

ZrO2/TiO2 composite photocatalytic film was produced on the pure titanium substrate using in-situ Zr(OH)4 colloidal particle by the micro-arc oxidation technique and characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometer. The composite film shows a lamellar and porous structure which consists of anatase, futile and ZrO2 phases. The optical absorption edge of film is shifted to longer wavelength when ZrO2 is introduced to TiO2. Furthermore, the photocatalytic reaction rate constants of degradation of rhodamine B solution with ZrO2/TiO2 composite film and pure TiO2 film under ultraviolet irradiation are measured as 0.0442 and 0.0186 h 1, respectively. 展开更多

SEM and TEM were utilized to analyze the surface and cross-section morphologies or the microstructures of the composite coating before and after heat treatment, as well as a micro-hardness tester was used to measure the micro-hardness before and after heat treatment. The results show that the entrance of nano SiO2 particles into composite coating makes the micro-hardness higher. After heat treatment, due to the obstruction to growth of Ni crystals from nano particles, the composite coating still possesses a higher micro-hardness than that of common Ni-base coating. 展开更多

A ternary composite of TiO2 and a SiO2-Al2O3 aerogel with good photocatalytic activity was prepared by a simple sol-gel method with TiO2 nanoparticles and SiO2-Al2O3 aerogels derived from industrial fly ash.The structural features of the TiO2/SiO2-Al2O3 aerogel composite were investigated by X-ray powder diffraction,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,transmission electron microscopy,gas adsorption measurements and diffuse reflectance UV-visible spectroscopy.The optimal conditions for photocatalytic degradation of 2-sec-butyl-4,6-dinitrophenol(DNBP],included an initial DNBP concentration of 0.167 mmol/L at pH = 4.86 with a catalyst concentration of 6 g/L,under visible light irradiation for 5 h.A plausible mechanism is proposed for the photocatalytic degradation of DNBP.Our composite showed higher photocatalytic activity for DNBP degradation than that of pure TiO2.This indicates that this material can serve as an efficient photocatalyst for degradation of hazardous organic pollutants in wastewater. 展开更多

为支撑新型轻质防弹装甲材料的研发和优化,以添加和未添加增韧相TiB2的两种石墨烯改性碳化硼(B4C)陶瓷复合材料为研究对象,研究其在12.7 mm口径穿甲弹侵彻下的失效机理。利用维氏硬度计、三点弯曲法和单边切口梁法获得两种陶瓷基... 为支撑新型轻质防弹装甲材料的研发和优化,以添加和未添加增韧相TiB2的两种石墨烯改性碳化硼(B4C)陶瓷复合材料为研究对象,研究其在12.7 mm口径穿甲弹侵彻下的失效机理。利用维氏硬度计、三点弯曲法和单边切口梁法获得两种陶瓷基复合材料的维氏硬度、弯曲强度和断裂韧性3个准静态力学性能参数,通过残余穿深试验研究两种复合材料在12.7 mm口径穿甲弹正侵彻下的抗侵彻能力,并采用防护系数进行定量表征。结合铝合金背板和陶瓷碎块的宏观损伤形貌,利用扫描电镜进行微观断口分析,研究陶瓷在弹头侵彻下的失效机理、增韧相TiB2以及石墨烯的强化机制。结果表明:TiB2的加入可以提高石墨烯改性B4C陶瓷的各项性能,相较不含TiB2的石墨烯改性B4C陶瓷,含质量分数14%TiB2改性B4C陶瓷的维氏硬度、弯曲强度和断裂韧性分别提高了19.66%、24.06%和19.70%,在12.7 mm口径穿甲弹弹头750 m/s速度侵彻下的防护性能提高15.11%;对于石墨烯改性B4C陶瓷,TiB2的加入与石墨烯的促进作用使B4C陶瓷变为多种破坏吸能模式,表现出更优异的抗破碎性,是其抗侵彻性能等提高的主要原因。 展开更多

A novel Ag3PO4-AgBr-PTh composite loaded on Na2SiO3 was synthesized for enhanced visible-light photocatalytic activity. The photocatalyUc activity of the samples was evaluated by photodegrading rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light irradiation. The main reactive species and possible photocatalytic mechanism were also discussed. As a result, the Ag3PO4-AgBr-PTh composite loaded on Na2SiO3 exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity for RhB compared with Ag3PO4 under visible-light irradiation. Additionally, it was demonstrated that the hole (h+) and superoxide radical (·O2-) were the major reactive species involving in the RhB degradation. PTh played vital role for the enhanced photocatalytic activity of Ag3PO4-AgBr-PTh-Na2SiO3 composite, which offered an electron transfer expressway and accelerated the transfer of the electrons from the CB of AgBr into Ag3PO4. This work could provide a new perspective for the synthesis of Ag3PO4-based composites and the improvement of photocatalytic activity of Ag3PO4. 展开更多

The interfacial reactions of oxidized SiC particles reinforced Al-Mg matrix composites were investigated by the field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), TEM and X-ray diffraction. It was found that the nanoscale MgO forms initially due to the interfacial reaction, then whether it reacts with molten Al continuously or not depends on the content of Mg in the matrix and its covering densification at the surface of particles. When there is not enough Mg in the matrix for the formation of dense MgO layer, MgO will transform into MgAl2O4 crystal owing to the continuous reaction with SiO2 and molten Al. When dense MgO layer forms at the surface of the particles due to the affluence of Mg for the initial reaction, it will protect the inner SiC from the attack of molten Al. However, the reaction products of both MgO and MgAl2O4 are thermo-stable phases at the surface of the particles under high temperature.
