To deal with the optimal design of a redundantly actuated parallel robot used for ankle rehabilitation, a methodology of dimensional synthesis based on multi-objective optimization is presented. First, the dimensional synthesis of the redundant parallel robot is formulated as a nonlinear constrained multi-objective optimization problem. Then four objective functions, separately reflecting occupied space, input/output transmission and torque performances, and multi-criteria constraints, such as dimension, interference and kinematics, are defined. In consideration of the passive exercise of plantar/dorsiflexion requiring large output moment, a torque index is proposed. To cope with the actuation redundancy of the parallel robot, a new output transmission index is defined as well. The multi-objective optimization problem is solved by using a modified Differential Evolution(DE) algorithm, which is characterized by new selection and mutation strategies. Meanwhile, a special penalty method is presented to tackle the multi-criteria constraints. Finally, numerical experiments for different optimization algorithms are implemented. The computation results show that the proposed indices of output transmission and torque, and constraint handling are effective for the redundant parallel robot; the modified DE algorithm is superior to the other tested algorithms, in terms of the ability of global search and the number of non-dominated solutions. The proposed methodology of multi-objective optimization can be also applied to the dimensional synthesis of other redundantly actuated parallel robots only with rotational movements.展开更多

摘要Few-for-many(F4M)optimization,recently introduced as a novel paradigm in multi-objective optimization, aims to find a small set of solutions that effectively handle a large number of conflicting objectives.Unlike traditional many-objective optimization methods, which typically attempt comprehensive coverage of the Pareto front,F4M optimization emphasizes finding a small representative solution set to efficiently address highdimensional objective spaces.Motivated by the computational complexity and practical relevance of F4M optimization, this paper proposes a new evolutionary algorithm explicitly tailored for efficiently solving F4M optimization problems.Inspired by Smetric selection evolutionary multi-objective optimization algorithm(SMS-EMOA),our proposed approach employs a(μ+1)-evolution strategy guided by the objective of F4M optimization.Furthermore,to facilitate rigorous performance assessment,we propose a novel benchmark test suite specifically designed for F4M optimization by leveraging the similarity betw een the R2indicator and F4M formulations. Our test suite is highly flexible, allowing any existing multi-objective optimization problem to be transformed into a corresponding F4M instance via scalarization using the weighted Tchebycheff function.Comprehensive experimental evaluations on benchmarks demonstrate the superior performance of our algorithm compared to existing state-of-the-art algorithms, especially on instances involving a large number of objectives. The source code of the proposed algorithm will be released publicly.Source code is available at http://gffzz188fe103f8f1460asokpq0kvp0b5060pn.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/MOL-SZU/SoM-EMOA.

摘要Aiming at the practical problems of high energy consumption and low energy efficiency during the exploitation of low-permeability oil wells because of insufficient traceability and poor matching performance of production parameters, this paper proposes a multi-objective approach for optimizing production parameters of low-permeability oil well to enhance its energy efficiency.First,a sub-model of daily liquid production yield and a sub-model of unit production energy consumption cost for single low-permeability oil well were established, and the Gaussian mixture model method was employed to compensate for the errors in the sub-model of unit production energy consumption cost,to solve the problem of the influence of uncertain facts during the oil well exploitation and to improve the precision of the model.Second,a multi-objective optimization model was established by taking into account the decision variables and constraints of the model,to maximize the daily liquid production yield while minimizing the unit production energy consumption cost.Subsequently, the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm was employed to solve the multi-objective optimization model and obtain the production parameters. Finally, the solution set with obvious features was taken as the production parameters and applied to the actual production verification of low-permeability oil wells in a certain oil production plant of the ChangQing Oilfield. The results showed an increase in oil well production yield, and a significant energy-saving effect, thereby verifying the effectiveness of the proposed model and optimization algorithm in this paper.
摘要Optimizing convolutional neural networks(CNNs)for IoT attack detection remains a critical yet challenging task due to the need to balance multiple performance metrics beyond mere accuracy. This study proposes a unified and flexible optimization framework that leverages metaheuristic algorithms to automatically optimize CNN configurations for IoT attack detection.Unlike conventional single-objective approaches, the proposed method formulates a global multi-objective fitness function that integrates accuracy, precision, recall, and model size(speed/model complexity penalty)with adjustable weights. This design enables both single-objective and weightedsum multi-objective optimization, allowing adaptive selection of optimal CNN configurations for diverse deployment requirements. Two representativemetaheuristic algorithms,GeneticAlgorithm(GA)and Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO),are employed to optimize CNNhyperparameters and structure. At each generation/iteration,the best configuration is selected as themost balanced solution across optimization objectives,i.e.,the one achieving themaximum value of the global objective function.Experimental validation on two benchmark datasets,Edge-IIoT and CIC-IoT2023,demonstrates that the proposed GA-and PSO-based models significantly enhance detection accuracy(94.8%–98.3%)and generalization compared with manually tuned CNN configurations, while maintaining compact architectures. The results confirm that the multi-objective framework effectively balances predictive performance and computational efficiency. This work establishes a generalizable and adaptive optimization strategy for deep learning-based IoT attack detection and provides a foundation for future hybrid metaheuristic extensions in broader IoT security applications.
摘要In recent years,decomposition-based evolutionary algorithms have become popular algorithms for solving multi-objective problems in real-life scenarios. In these algorithms, the reference vectors of the Penalty-Based boundary intersection(PBI)are distributed parallelly while those based on the normal boundary intersection(NBI)are distributed radially in a conical shape in the objective space. To improve the problem-solving effectiveness of multi-objective optimization algorithms in engineering applications, this paper addresses the improvement of the Collaborative Decomposition(CoD)method,a multi-objective decomposition technique that integrates PBI and NBI,and combines it with the Elephant Clan Optimization Algorithm, introducing the Collaborative Decomposition Multi-objective Improved Elephant Clan Optimization Algorithm(CoDMOIECO).Specifically,a novel subpopulation construction method with adaptive changes following the number of iterations and a novel individual merit ranking based onNBI and angle are proposed.,enabling the creation of subpopulations closely linked to weight vectors and the identification of diverse individuals within them.Additionally, new update strategies for the clan leader, male elephants, and juvenile elephants are introduced to boost individual exploitation capabilities and further enhance the algorithm’s convergence. Finally,a new CoD-based environmental selection method is proposed, introducing adaptive dynamically adjusted angle coefficients and individual angles on corresponding weight vectors, significantly improving both the convergence and distribution of the algorithm.Experimental comparisons on the ZDT,DTLZ,and WFG function sets with four benchmark multi-objective algorithms—MOEA/D,CAMOEA,VaEA,and MOEA/D-UR—demonstrate that CoDMOIECO achieves superior performance in both convergence and distribution.

摘要Wireless sensor network deployment optimization is a classic NP-hard problem and a popular topic in academic research. However, the current research on wireless sensor network deployment problems uses overly simplistic models, and there is a significant gap between the research results and actual wireless sensor networks. Some scholars have now modeled data fusion networks to make them more suitable for practical applications. This paper will explore the deployment problem of a stochastic data fusion wireless sensor network(SDFWSN),a model that reflects the randomness of environmental monitoring and uses data fusion techniques widely used in actual sensor networks for information collection. The deployment problem of SDFWSN is modeled as a multi-objective optimization problem. The network life cycle, spatiotemporal coverage, detection rate, and false alarm rate of SDFWSN are used as optimization objectives to optimize the deployment of network nodes. This paper proposes an enhanced multi-objective mongoose optimization algorithm(EMODMOA)to solve the deployment problem of SDFWSN.First,to overcome the shortcomings of the DMOA algorithm, such as its low convergence and tendency to get stuck in a local optimum,an encircling and hunting strategy is introduced into the original algorithm to propose the EDMOA algorithm. The EDMOA algorithm is designed as the EMODMOA algorithm by selecting reference points using the K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN)algorithm. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, the EMODMOA algorithm was tested at CEC 2020 and achieved good results. In the SDFWSN deployment problem, the algorithm was compared with the Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II(NSGAII),Multiple Objective Particle Swarm Optimization(MOPSO),Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm based on Decomposition(MOEA/D),and Multi-Objective Grey Wolf Optimizer(MOGWO).By comparing and analyzing the performance evaluation metrics and optimization results of the objective functions of the multi-objective algorithms, the algorithm outperforms the other algorithms in the SDFWSN deployment results. To better demonstrate the superiority of the algorithm, simulations of diverse test cases were also performed, and good results were obtained.

摘要With the development of renewable energy technologies such as photovoltaics and wind power,it has become a research hotspot to improve the consumption rate of new energy and reduce energy costs through algorithm improvement. To reduce the operational costs of micro-grid systems and the energy abandonment rate of renewable energy, while simultaneously enhancing user satisfaction on the demand side, this paper introduces an improvedmultiobjective Grey Wolf Optimizer based on Cauchy variation. The proposed approach incorporates a Cauchy variation strategy during the optimizer’s search phase to expand its exploration range and minimize the likelihood of becoming trapped in local optima. At the same time, adoptingmultiple energy storage methods to improve the consumption rate of renewable energy.Subsequently, under different energy balance orders,themulti-objective particle swarmalgorithm,multi-objective grey wolf optimizer, and Cauchy’s variant of the improvedmulti-objective grey wolf optimizer are used for example simulation, solving the Pareto solution set of the model and comparing. The analysis of the results reveals that, compared to the original optimizer, the improved optimizer decreases the daily cost by approximately 100 yuan, and reduces the energy abandonment rate to zero.Meanwhile,it enhances user satisfaction and ensures the stable operation of the micro-grid.

摘要This paper presents a novel intelligent and effective method based on an improved ant colony optimization(ACO)algorithm to solve the multi-objective ship weather routing optimization problem, considering the navigation safety, fuel consumption, and sailing time. Here the improvement of the ACO algorithm is mainly reflected in two aspects.First,to make the classical ACO algorithm more suitable for long-distance ship weather routing and plan a smoother route, the basic parameters of the algorithm are improved, and new control factors are introduced.Second,to improve the situation of too few Pareto non-dominated solutions generated by the algorithm for solving multi-objective problems, the related operations of crossover, recombination, and mutation in the genetic algorithm are introduced in the improved ACO algorithm. The final simulation results prove the effectiveness of the improved algorithm in solving multi-objective weather routing optimization problems. In addition, the black-box model method was used to study the ship fuel consumption during a voyage;the model was constructed based on an artificial neural network. The parameters of the neural network model were refined repeatedly through the historical navigation data of the test ship, and then the trained black-box model was used to predict the future fuel consumption of the test ship.Compared with other fuel consumption calculation methods, the black-box model method showed higher accuracy and applicability.

摘要Dimensional synthesis is one of the most difficult issues in the field of parallel robots with actuation redundancy. The proposed methodology of multi-objective optimization can be also applied to the dimensional synthesis of other redundantly actuated parallel robots only with rotational movements.

摘要A new hang-off system has been proposed to improve the security of risers in hang-off modes during typhoons. However, efficient anti-typhoon evacuation strategies have not been investigated.Optimiza-tion model and method for the anti-typhoon evacuation strategies should be researched.Therefore,multi-objective functions are proposed based on operation time, evacuation speed stability, and steering stability. An evacuation path model and a dynamic model of risers with the new hang-off system are developed for design variables and constraints.A multi-objective optimization model with high-dimensional variables and complex constraints is established. Finally,a three-stage optimization method based on genetic algorithm, least square method, and the penalty function method is proposed to solve the multi-objective optimization model.Optimization results show that the operation time can be reduced through operation parameter optimization, especially evacuation heading optimization. The optimal anti-typhoon strategy is evacuation with all risers suspended along a variable path when the direction angle is large, while evacuation with all risers suspended along a straight path at another di-rection angle.Besides, the influencing factors on anti-typhoon evacuation strategies indicate that the proposed optimization model and method have strong applicability to working conditions and remarkable optimization effects.

摘要The non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA) is improved with the controlled elitism and dynamic crowding distance. A novel multi-objective optimization algorithm is obtained for wind turbine blades. As an example, a 5 MW wind turbine blade design is presented by taking the maximum power coefficient and the minimum blade mass as the optimization objectives. The optimal results show that this algorithm has good performance in handling the multi-objective optimization of wind turbines, and it gives a Pareto-optimal solution set rather than the optimum solutions to the conventional multi objective optimization problems. The wind turbine blade optimization method presented in this paper provides a new and general algorithm for the multi-objective optimization of wind turbines.
摘要A multi-objective optimization of oil well drilling has been carried out using a binary coded elitist non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm.A Louisiana offshore field with abnormal formation pressure is considered for optimization.Several multi-objective optimization problems involving twoand three-objective functions were formulated and solved to fix optimal drilling variables. The important objectives are:(i) maximizing drilling depth,(ii) minimizing drilling time and (iii) minimizing drilling cost with fractional drill bit tooth wear as a constraint.Important time dependent decision variables are:(i) equivalent circulation mud density,(ii) drill bit rotation,(iii) weight on bit and (iv) Reynolds number function of circulating mud through drill bit nozzles.A set of non-dominated optimal Pareto frontier is obtained for the two-objective optimization problem whereas a non-dominated optimal Pareto surface is obtained for the three-objective optimization problem.Depending on the trade-offs involved, decision makers may select any point from the optimal Pareto frontier or optimal Pareto surface and hence corresponding values of the decision variables that may be selected for optimal drilling operation. For minimizing drilling time and drilling cost, the optimum values of the decision variables are needed to be kept at the higher values whereas the optimum values of decision variables are at the lower values for the maximization of drilling depth.

摘要The problem of fault reasoning has aroused great concern in scientific and engineering fields. However, fault investigation and reasoning of complex system is not a simple reasoning decision-making problem. It has become a typical multi-constraint and multi-objective reticulate optimization decision-making problem under many influencing factors and constraints. So far, little research has been carried out in this field. This paper transforms the fault reasoning problem of complex system into a paths-searching problem starting from known symptoms to fault causes.Three optimization objectives are considered simultaneously: maximum probability of average fault, maximum average importance, and minimum average complexity of test.Under the constraints of both known symptoms and the causal relationship among different components,a multi-objective optimization mathematical model is set up,taking minimizing cost of fault reasoning as the target function.Since the problem is non-deterministic polynomial-hard(NP-hard),a modified multi-objective ant colony algorithm is proposed,in which a reachability matrix is set up to constrain the feasible search nodes of the ants and a new pseudo-random-proportional rule and a pheromone adjustment mechinism are constructed to balance conflicts between the optimization objectives. At last,a Pareto optimal set is acquired.Evaluation functions based on validity and tendency of reasoning paths are defined to optimize noninferior set, through which the final fault causes can be identified according to decision-making demands, thus realize fault reasoning of the multi-constraint and multi-objective complex system.Reasoning results demonstrate that the improved multi-objective ant colony optimization(IMACO) can realize reasoning and locating fault positions precisely by solving the multi-objective fault diagnosis model, which provides a new method to solve the problem of multi-constraint and multi-objective fault diagnosis and reasoning of complex system.
