To observe the inner operating process of distance protection,a Matlab/Simulink based dynamic simulation system for microprocessor-based distance protection is designed in this paper.As a modularized design,the simulation system is composed of several modules such as fault transient calculation,startup,Fourier algorithm,phase selection,impedance computing and impedance comparison etc.Some typical simulation cases,which focus on the main factors affecting distance relay's operation,have been simulated with the system.Simulation results show that the system is able to demonstrate the dynamic behaviors of distance protection under different operating conditions. 展开更多

Active Fault Diagnosis and Early Warning Model of Distribution Transformers Using Sample Ensemble Learning and SO-SVM 认领 引用

Distribution transformers play a vital role in power distribution systems,and their reliable operation is crucial for grid stability.This study presents a simulation-based framework for active fault diagnosis and early warning of distribution transformers,integrating Sample Ensemble Learning(SEL)with a Self-Optimizing Support Vector Machine(SO-SVM).The SEL technique enhances data diversity and mitigates class imbalance,while SO-SVM adaptively tunes its hyperparameters to improve classification accuracy.A comprehensive transformer model was developed in MATLAB/Simulink to simulate diverse fault scenarios,including inter-turn winding faults,core saturation,and thermal aging.Feature vectors were extracted from voltage,current,and temperature measurements to train and validate the proposed hybrid model.Quantitative analysis shows that the SEL–SO-SVM framework achieves a classification accuracy of 97.8%,a precision of 96.5%,and an F1-score of 97.2%.Beyond classification,the model effectively identified incipient faults,providing an early warning lead time of up to 2.5 s before significant deviations in operational parameters.This predictive capability underscores its potential for preventing catastrophic transformer failures and enabling timely maintenance actions.The proposed approach demonstrates strong applicability for enhancing the reliability and operational safety of distribution transformers in simulated environments,offering a promising foundation for future real-time and field-level implementations. 展开更多

Electrode down-time is an important factor affecting the efficiency and stability of electrical discharge machining(EDM) process. In the research, a way of simulating the regulation of the electrode down-time in an EDM adaptive control system has been studied. All the simulations are performed on Matlab. The simulation results demonstrate that this adaptive controller by regulating electrode down-time can direct the gap state to follow the specified reference gap state with or without disturbances. Finally, the adaptive control scheme is also validated by experiments. The significance of the simulation of an EDM adaptive control system lies on the fact that it provides a convenient way to guide the actual production and provides a new study method for the research of EDM control strategy with no regard of experimental conditions. 展开更多

In order to establish the groove model for intersecting structures of circular tubes,mathematical model of the intersecting line is established by the method of analytic geometry,and parametric equations are thus determined.The dihedral angle,groove angle and actual cutting angle for any position of the intersecting line are derived as well.In order to identify groove vectors for two pipes,a new analytical method,i.e.coplanarity of vectors,is further proposed to complete the groove model.The established model is virtually verified by programming and simulation calculation in the MATLAB environment.The results show that groove vectors of intersecting structures simulated by MATLAB are consistent with the theoretical groove model,indicating that the theoretical groove model established in this paper is accurate,and further proves that the proposed coplanarity of vectors for solving groove vectors is correct and feasible.Finally,a graphical user interface(GUI)is developed by MATLAB software to independently realize functions such as model drawing,variable calculation and data output.The research outcome provides a theoretical foundation for the actual welding of circular intersecting structures,and lays an essential basis for weld bead layout and path planning. 展开更多

METHODS:Fifteen subjects were recruited. The corneal images from optical coherence tomography(OCT)were imported into Matlab software. Five edge detection methods(Canny,Log,Prewitt,Roberts,Sobel)were used to identify the corneal surface. Then two manual identifying methods(ginput and getpts)were applied to identify the edge coordinates respectively. The differences among these methods were compared. Binomial curve(y=Ax2+Bx+C),Polynomial curve [p(x)=p1xn+p2x(n-1)+....+pnx+pn+1] and Conic section(Ax2+Bxy+Cy2+Dx+Ey+F=0)were used for curve fitting the corneal surface respectively. The relative merits among three fitting curves were analyzed. Finally,the eccentricity(e)obtained by corneal topography and conic section were compared with paired t-test. RESULTS:Five edge detection algorithms all had continuous coordinates which indicated the edge of the corneal surface. The ordinates of manual identifying were close to the inside of the actual edges. Binomial curve was greatly affected by tilt angle. Polynomial curve was lack of geometrical properties and unstable. Conic section could calculate the tilted symmetry axis,eccentricity,circle center,etc. There were no significant differences between 'e' values by corneal topography and conic section(t=0.9143,P=0.3760 〉0.05).CONCLUSION:It is feasible to simulate the corneal surface with mathematical curve with Matlab software. Edge detection has better repeatability and higher efficiency. The manual identifying approach is an indispensable complement for detection. Polynomial and conic section are both the alternative methods for corneal curve fitting. Conic curve was the optimal choice based on the specific geometrical properties. 展开更多

In this paper, the WTG is a direct-drive system and includes wind turbine, three-phase permanent magnet synchronous generator, three-phase full bridge rectifier, and buck-bust converter, while the SPVM consist of solar PV modules, buck converter, maximum power tracking system for both systems, and load. Several methods are applied to obtain maximum performances, the appropriate and most effective method is called gradient-approximation method for WTG approach, because it enables the generator to operate at variable wind speeds. Furthermore MPPT also is used to optimized the achieved energy generated by solar PV modules.Matlab / Simulink approach is used to simulate, discuss, and optimized the generated power by varying the duty cycle of the converters, and tip speed ratio of the WTG system. 展开更多

The inverted pendulum is a classic problem in dynamics and control theory and is widely used as a benchmark for testing control algorithms. This paper studies the use of fuzzy control method to study the stability control problem of a triple inverted pendulum system. By the linear model of the system, the feedback weight matrix of the LQR optimal control and the feedback parameters of the linear optimal control are designed to determine the parameters of the fuzzy controller. The simulation results show that the proposed method can achieve the stability control of the three stage inverted pendulum, and has good dynamic performance with simple parameter selection. 展开更多

Ohmic Heating (OH) is one of the emerging thermal technologies used in food processing which can produce rapid and uniform heating with close to 100% energy transfer efficiency. Although mathematical modelling for OH processes has been studied by many researchers in recent years, systematic simulations of OH have not been developed for model-based control of the processes. In this paper, mathematical model for a Colinear Ohmic Heater is presented, analyzed, and studied based on the selected configuration. A numerical solution for the mathematical equations has been defined and proposed. MATLAB/Simulink model is hence developed and validated against the available data. Simulation results have shown that MATLAB/Simulink model can produce robust outputs at low computational costs with an accuracy of up to 99.6% in comparison to the analytical solution. This model can be used in further studies for analysis of the OH processes and development of advanced controllers. 展开更多

The novel compensating method directly demodulates the signals without the carrier recovery processes, in which the carrier with original modulation frequency is used as the local coherent carrier. In this way, the phase offsets due to frequency shift are linear. Based on this premise, the compensation processes are: firstly, the phase offsets between the baseband neighbor-symbols after clock recovery is unbiasedly estimated among the reference symbols; then, the receiving signals symbols are adjusted by the phase estimation value; finally, the phase offsets after adjusting are compensated by the least mean squares (LMS) algorithm. In order to express the compensation processes and ability clearly, the quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) modulation signals are regarded as examples for Matlab simulation. BER simulations are carried out using the Monte-Carlo method. The learning curves are obtained to study the algorithm's convergence ability. The constellation figures are also simulated to observe the compensation results directly. 展开更多

The catenary system is a critical component of the electric traction power supply infrastructure;it is tasked with the stable conveyance of current to electric locomotives.As the catenary lacks a backup system,it experiences an increased incidence of arcing and dust accumulation during operation.This can lead to fluctuations in power quality,particularly when arc edge discharge conditions are met under specific climatic circumstances,which are able susceptible to arc ignition.Such occurrences can severely compromise the structural integrity of the catenary equipment and disrupt the geometric parameters of the system.Firstly,the paper analyzes the nonlinear output characteristics of catenary safety features and edge discharge parameters within the system model.The least squares method is employed to identify the nonlinear model and to optimize error parameters in real-time.Secondly,transient overcurrent parameters and the characteristics of catenary equipment,including edge discharge and arc-induced pollution flashover,are simulated using specialized simulation software.Lastly,by comparing the simulation results with the real-time operational curves of the experimental equipment,the study concludes theoretically that parameter optimization based on the least squares method offers the most effective means of stable and adaptive adjustment for model identification. 展开更多

A complete model of switch-mode plasma cutting power supply and its simulation are developed. The full bridge isolated pulse width modulation (PWM) buck converter in continuous conduction mode (CCM) for high watt plasma power supply is approached. Reduced ripple current and improved power factor are achieved in the plasma power supply. With a PID control strategy, circuit responses become more stable and faster with low overshoot during load and current changing. The converter achieved high efficiency under 3 to 15kW load conditions. 展开更多

The study deals with a multi-faceted theoretical approach,symbolic,analytical and numerical,based on the chemical equilibrium assumption,addressed at predicting the performance trends of downdrafi wood-gasification processes so to assess the optimal ranges of input parameters,in particular the equivalence ratios,suitable to achieving the highest cold gas efficiencies whilst keeping the more the possible tar-free the produced bio-syngas.The time-steady,zero-dimensional model has been developed within MATLAB(the computing language and interactive environment from Matrix Laboratory)and solved by enforcing the constraints posed by the equilibrium constants in relation to two reactions,gas-water shift and methanation.Particular care is devoted toward verifying the real attainment of the equilibrium condition,as attested by an actual presence of products from the equilibrium reactions together with a zero difference AE between the energy flows entering and exiting the system,an issue often overlooked.With respect to other similar theoretical approaches,the numerical model,assisted by the symbolic counterpart for better interpretation and intrinsic validation of results,shows a distinct advantage in predicting rather accurately the syngas composition for varying gasification temperatures,as attested by cross comparisons with experimental data directly taken on an instrumented,dedicated,small-scale downdraft gasifier operational at DIME/SCL(the Savona Combustion Laboratory of DIME,the Dept.of Mechanical,Energy,Management and Transportation Engineering of Genova University).The behavior of cold gas efficiency clearly points out that,from an energy conversion point of view,the optimal gasification temperatures turn out comprised between 900℃and 1,000℃:this range is indeed characterized by the highest concentrations in the energy-rich syngas components CO and H2.For higher temperatures,as induced by higher air-to-fuel ratios,the progressive oxidation of above components,together with increasing nitrogen levels,would decrease the bio-syngas heat values. 展开更多

Therefore, it is difficult for the valve to match the control precision of basis weight. Dynamic simulation research using Matlab/Simulink indicates that there is much more overshoot and fluctuating during the valve-positioning process. In order to improve the valve-positioning precision, the control method of trapezoidal velocity curve was studied. The simulation result showed that the positioning steady-state error was less than 0.0056%, whereas the peak error was less than 0.016% by using trapezoidal velocity curve at 10 positioning steps. A valve-positioning precision experimental device for the stepper motor of basis weight control valve was developed. The experiment results showed that the error ratio of 1/10000 positioning steps was 4% by using trapezoidal velocity curve. Furthermore, the error ratio of 10/10000 positioning steps was 0.5%. It proved that the valve-positioning precision of trapezoidal velocity curve was much higher than that of the constant frequency pulse signal control strategy. System control and safety reliability are important links of the marine DC (Direct Current) power system. The simulationmodel is built by Matlab/Simulink, the battery and super-capacitor are supplied to the system through a three-phase interleaved DC/DCconverter, the fuse and disconnector switch combination are used as the protection device, and the short-circuit point is set betweeneach branch and the DC distribution board, performing short-circuit simulation. This paper also proposes a short-circuit calculationmethod for super-capacitors based on the simplified model of series RC (Resistors & Capacitors), and verifies its correctness throughsimulation data. The results show that the introduction of a three-phase interleaved DC/DC converter reduces the current ripple andmakes the system control more convenient;short-circuit calculation and simulation have determined the short-circuit withstandcapability of the DC distribution board, and verified the feasibility of the fuse selection method and the short-circuit calculation methodof the super-capacitor. This provides reliable verification for the application and calculation of the actual project. 展开更多
