Motivated by the relationship of the dynamic behaviors and network structure, in this paper, we present two efficient dynamic community detection algorithms. The phases of the nodes in the network can evolve according to our proposed differential equations. In each iteration, the phases of the nodes are controlled by several parameters. It is found that the phases of the nodes are ultimately clustered into several communities after a short period of evolution. They can be adopted to detect the communities successfully. The second differential equation can dynamically adjust several parameters, so it can obtain satisfactory detection results. Simulations on some test networks have verified the efficiency of the presented algorithms. 展开更多

In this paper, a theoretical scheme of multi-objective modularity analysis for discrete electromechanical product design was proposed. Product physical architecture was represented by a fuzzy graph, where fuzzy relationships contain environmental objectives and influence module formulation. Link prediction aims at detecting missing, spurious or evolving links in a network, based on the topological information and/or nodes' attributes of the network. Under the assumption that the likelihood of the existence of a link between two nodes can be captured by nodes' similarity, several methods have been proposed to compute similarity directly or indirectly, with information on node degree. However, correctly predicting links is also crucial in revealing the link formation mechanisms and thus in providing more accurate modeling for networks. We here propose a novel method to predict links by incorporating stochastic-block-model link generating mechanisms with node degree. The proposed method first recov- ers the underlying block structure of a network by modularity-based belief propagation, and based on the recovered block structural information it models the link likelihood between two nodes to match the degree sequence of the network. Experiments on a set of real-world networks and synthetic networks generated by stochastic block model show that our proposed method is effective in detecting missing, spurious or evolving links of networks that can be well modeled by a stochastic block model. This approach efficiently complements the toolbox for complex network analysis, offering a novel tool to model links in stochastic block model networks that are fundamental in the modeling of real world complex networks. 展开更多

Generally speaking, forum topics are evolving over time dynamically. In this paper, based on time series analysis and matrix modularity analysis, a novel prediction method is proposed through investigating the correlating influence of three key measurements: relationship strength, pillars, and change frequency of a forum topic. The method demonstrates that there exist some macroscopic and potential laws for forum situation prediction. BACKGROUND This unique presentation of hip swelling is only the seventh reported case of pseudotumor recurrence in a non-metal-on-metal total hip arthroplasty(THA)construct.The constellation of patient symptoms and laboratory findings contradict the expected elevated serum metal ion levels associated with the formation of pseudotumor.The presentation,lab trends,and imaging findings contribute to the growing base of knowledge surrounding the effects of corrosion in arthroplasty constructs with stem-neck modularity.CASE SUMMARY A 74-year-old man status post primary THA presented with left hip swelling and elevated serum metal ions five years after implantation of a modular stem-neck prosthesis.The swelling was diagnosed as pseudotumor based on laboratory trends and imaging findings and was treated with revision arthroplasty that completely resolved the initial hip swelling.The patient presented with recurrent hip swelling and recurrent pseudotumor findings on imaging in the same hip four months later.Non-operative management with ultrasound-guided hip aspiration resulted in symptom relief and resolution of the recurrent swelling.After one year of follow-up,the patient had no further recurrences of hip swelling.CONCLUSION This case of post-revision pseudotumor recurrence elucidates attributable patient,surgical,and implant factors with a discussion of diagnostics,management,and prognosis for patients with pseudotumor in non-metal-on-metal arthroplasty constructs. 展开更多

This robot consists of several independent units. Each unit is composed of modular components including ultrasonic sensor, camera, communication, computation, and mobility parts, and is capable of simple self-reconfiguring to enhance its mobility by expanding itself. Several units can not only link into a train or other shapes autonomously via camera and sensors to be a united whole robot for obstacle clearing, but also disjoin to be separate units under control after missions. To achieve small overall size, compact mechanical structures are adopted in modular components design, and a miniature advanced RISC machines (ARM) based embedded controller is developed for minimal power consumption and efficient global control. The shape of a spacecraft is transitioning from monolithic,manual,and static to modular,autonomous,and dynamic.Modular Reconfigurable Spacecrafts(MRSs)offer better solutions than traditional monolithic spacecrafts in several aspects,and may become the next generation of spacecraft systems with efficient design,fast deployment,flexible application,and convenient management.This paper reviews the development and technology of MRS from three aspects:Modularity,reconfigurability,and autonomy.Despite the progress of research on MRS,there is still a lack of unified standards and little understanding of related concepts.Based on the understanding of basic concepts,the studies conducted on MRS are reviewed to identify technical requirements and solutions.Aiming at the future development trend of MRS,a novel modular selfreconfigurable spacecraft,referred to as MagicSat,is proposed.Furthermore,the MagicSat system composition,advantages,and application prospects are studied.The enabling technologies and major challenges of MRS are further analyzed in terms of modularization,integrated management,and self-reconfiguration technologies.Finally,the future development trend of MRS technology is predicted,and corresponding suggestions are provided. 展开更多

An understanding of the knowledge creation and diffusion process in the organizational context is extremely relevant. Because from this understanding, organizations can restructure processes, reorient teams and implement methodologies to assist in the construction of an evolutionary process of knowledge creation and diffusion aimed at sustainable growth and innovation. The theory of complex social networks has been applied in several fields to help understand organizational cognitive processes. However, these approaches still insipiently consider the analysis of the nestedness and modularity of the studied networks. In this article, we presented an approach that sought to identify patterns of nestedness and modularity in networks of affiliation of people in projects in the organizational context. The study sought to identify these patterns in affiliation networks in a public organization providing information technology services in the period from 2006 to 2013. The detection of these patterns was performed using the NODF (Nestedness metric based on Overlap and Decreasing Fill) algorithm described by [1]. The nestedness and modularity metrics can influence patterns of knowledge creation and diffusion in formal and informal networks constituted for the execution of projects in organizations. This study showed that the network structures of the organization during the study period presented a high degree of nestedness, and it was possible to identify combined structures of nestedness and modularity. 展开更多

Root exudation-related traits are crucial for a plant acquiring spatially heterogeneous soil phosphorus(P)resources.Integrating root exudation traits into root trait networks reveals plant foraging strategies and trait coordination in P-rich patches,thereby providing deeper insights into the adaptation mechanisms employed by species.We constructed root trait networks for seventeen AM-associated tree species from a subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest,aiming to analyze the regulatory mechanisms of P patch availability on plant belowground strategies by incorporating root exudation traits,mycorrhizal traits,and traditional absorptive root traits.Results showed that the carbon release rate of general root exudates(RE)and root acid phosphatase activity exhibited significant interspecific variations and were accordingly assigned to the exploration and the chemical traits modules,respectively.P addition reduced the connectivity of the trait network(lowering edge density and average path length)and increased modularity,thereby indicating a shift from a highly integrated collaborative strategy to a more flexible modular strategy in plants.Notably,most traits did not show systematic responses across species to P addition,except for RE,which decreased significantly in P-rich patches.This divergency in trait responses shows that co-existing tree species adopt diverse P acquisition strategies.This study elucidates the belowground responses of plants to P heterogeneity by demonstrating the reorganization of root trait networks and the functional differentiation of exudation traits,offering a novel trait-modularity perspective on species coexistence in subtropical forests. 展开更多

Effective partitioning is crucial for enabling parallel restoration of power systems after blackouts.This paper proposes a novel partitioning method based on deep reinforcement learning.First,the partitioning decision process is formulated as a Markov decision process(MDP)model to maximize the modularity.Corresponding key partitioning constraints on parallel restoration are considered.Second,based on the partitioning objective and constraints,the reward function of the partitioning MDP model is set by adopting a relative deviation normalization scheme to reduce mutual interference between the reward and penalty in the reward function.The soft bonus scaling mechanism is introduced to mitigate overestimation caused by abrupt jumps in the reward.Then,the deep Q network method is applied to solve the partitioning MDP model and generate partitioning schemes.Two experience replay buffers are employed to speed up the training process of the method.Finally,case studies on the IEEE 39-bus test system demonstrate that the proposed method can generate a high-modularity partitioning result that meets all key partitioning constraints,thereby improving the parallelism and reliability of the restoration process.Moreover,simulation results demonstrate that an appropriate discount factor is crucial for ensuring both the convergence speed and the stability of the partitioning training. 展开更多

Modular truss space deployable antennas are key for future large aperture,high precision antennas,already proven in various in-orbit applications globally.This paper introduces a design method for a tetrahedral basic unit mechanism with dual height positioning nodes.A parametric model is established,and its DOF are analyzed to confirm the mechanism's validity.The new tetrahedral basic unit mechanism constructed by this method is a single DOF mechanism and can locate different parabolic node heights.In order to further adapt to the parabolic and large aperture requirements of the deployable antenna of the truss,a combination unit and modular unit mechanism are developed based on this tetrahedral unit.The DOF and deployment characteristics of the modular unit mechanism are analyzed and validated through simulations.Various networking methods for the modular units are proposed,followed by a comprehensive performance comparison of different modular truss deployable antenna mechanisms.A prototype model of the modular unit mechanism is also developed,with deployment experiments demonstrating the mechanism's simplicity,low DOF,and large deployment ratio.The findings of this study provide a theoretical and technical basis for the future design and development of truss deployable antenna mechanisms. 展开更多

Systemic complications are common after acute brain injury(ABI)and may trigger coagulation cascades,systemic inflammation,as well as dysfunction of the cardiovascular,respiratory,and gastrointestinal systems,etc.The pathogenesis of these systemic manifestations is multifactorial but not yet fully elucidated.This paper introduces the novel term neurogenic organ dysfunction syndrome(NODS)to characterize systemic instability arising from internal and external perturbations of the neuronal center following ABI.Elucidating the central neurogenic mechanisms of NODS is critical for early detection and prevention of complications,thereby reducing mortality and improving patient outcomes following ABI.In this paper,we explore the potential central neurogenic mechanisms of NODS from the perspective of complex brain network theory,focusing on the structural network of the central autonomic system(CAS)that maintains systemic stability,and the functional network governed by the central stress system(CSS).The CAS can be divided into the cortical autonomic network,which involves higher cortical regions,and the subcortical autonomic network,which is relatively conserved,with its main connections located in deep brain structures.The CSS is a large-scale complex network characterized by hierarchy,hubs,and modularity,which together enable the competitive optimization of functional segregation and integration.Under physiological conditions,modules(mediating functional segregation)and hubs(functional integration)within the CSS dynamically trade-off with each other to maintain the overall homeostasis.However,this balance is disrupted following pathological insults or injury,resulting in weakened functional integrity of the CSS following ABI,impaired module activity,and disturbed hub integration.This paper also demonstrates the distinct pathological manifestations arising from disturbances at different levels of the homeostatic system.Finally,this study proposes potential clinical interventions,including analgesia and sedation,neuromodulation,and receptor regulation,for early interventions and potential treatment of NODS,aiming to improve patient outcomes. 展开更多

We explored the morphological organization of the skull within Crocodylidae,analyzing functional and phylogenetic interactions between its 2 constituent functional modules:the rostrum and the postrostrum.We used geometric morphometrics to identify localized shape changes,focusing on the differences between the major clades of the crown-group Crocodylia:Alligatoridae and Crocodylidae.We used published bite performance data to correlate rostral function with postrostral morphology.The skull modules appear more integrated within Alligatoridae than within Crocodyliade.Phylogenetic effects on shape variation are more evident in Alligatoridae than in Crocodylidae,where functional parameters concerning the rostral morphology are proportionally more important than phylogeny.Long-snouted species are characterized by low structural performance,which is significantly associated with a reduction of the pterygoid-quadrate cranial nipper,suggesting that the nipper is important for the ingestion of large food items in generalist species.This functional association is coupled with a significant evolutionary allometry at the clade level,while Alligatoridae and Crocodylidae show different degrees of evolutionary allometry for their entire shape and rostrum.The postrostrum is more conservative than the rostrum in terms of morphospace occupation,evolutionary allometry and phylogenetic signal. 展开更多

Manufacturing large-scale mechanical metamaterials(MMs) is extremely challenging owing to the limitations of machining technology and equipment.This study proposes a family of discretely assembled MMs to address this issue.In this work,six types of MM unit cells are divided into several face blocks,which can be mass-produced by traditional low-cost manufacturing processes.The discrete face blocks are then assembled using connectors and fasteners to form a unit cell.These assembled unit cells can be further discretely assembled for modular constructions and reconfigurable MM structure systems.The results show that the discretely assembled MMs exhibit excellent mechanical properties such as high stiffness,compression resistance,and auxetic and chiral behaviors.In addition,two typical application scenarios and an example show that the discrete assembly strategy provides accessibility for the heterogeneous and multi-material assemblies of MMs.The discrete assembly strategy,benefiting from the incremental assembly feature,is proven to be a low-cost and highly repeatable forming process.It provides scalability and functionality that are not achievable with traditional manufacturing techniques.Combined with advanced design methods and automated assembly processes,discretely assembled MMs will be significant in future intelligent structures,soft robotics,and aerospace. 展开更多

To address challenges in architectural extensibility and cross-module collaboration of CAE software,this study proposes OPFEM(open-source Python-based finite element modeling)—an open-source framework featuring a unified four-layer architecture.The geometric modeling framework achieves plug-in support for geometric kernels through an interface abstraction layer and adapter patterns,decoupling kernel-specific implementations while enabling state machine-driven interaction design and parametric sketching.The pre-processing modules establish multi-level associations among materials,sections,and geometric entities using Composite and Factory patterns,while implementing Observer pattern to ensure geometric-mesh consistency and employing finite-state machines to optimize boundary workflows.The computational modules implement a modular finite element library that decouples topology from element attributes,along with a surface boundary element technique for load conversion and task-scheduling management,validated through a cantilever beam large-deformation case.The post-processing module facilitates standardized data storage and dynamic field visualization through architecture-level standardized interface definitions and hierarchical component design.Collectively,OPFEM achieves full-process integration from parametric modeling to nonlinear solving and visualization,enhancing configuration efficiency and providing an extensible,pattern-driven solution for complex CAE challenges. 展开更多
