Task allocation is the mechanism by which sensing tasks are selected and allotted to participating users in a mobile crowdsensing(MCS)environment.The problem of task allocation plays a vital role in the development of...Task allocation is the mechanism by which sensing tasks are selected and allotted to participating users in a mobile crowdsensing(MCS)environment.The problem of task allocation plays a vital role in the development of mobile crowdsensing under Internet of Things(IoT).The existing task allocation principles mainly focus on maximizing profit for either the platform or the user.However,there are scenarios where users join an MCS campaign not for any monetary benefit but to render some voluntary service,e.g.,citizen science-based projects.This study mainly focuses on task allocation in such altruistic environments.Hence,our goal is to address user productivity instead of profit.This paper deals with the problem of task allocation in two groups:using a time-independent approach,and a time-sensitive procedure,in order to allocate tasks.We propose four algorithms that focus on user-oriented task allocation,of which three incorporate a concept of fair distribution of tasks among the users.Simulation results show that the proposed algorithms can be used for a variety of crowdsensing scenarios in which the users are altruistic.展开更多
