This paper introduces an optimized backstepping control method for Flexible Airbreathing Hypersonic Vehicles(FAHVs).The approach incorporates nonlinear disturbance observation and reinforcement learning to address complex control challenges.The Minimal Learning Parameter(MLP)technique is applied to manage unknown nonlinear dynamics,significantly reducing the computational load usually associated with Neural Network(NN)weight updates.To improve the control system robustness,an MLP-based nonlinear disturbance observer is designed,which estimates lumped disturbances,including flexibility effects,model uncertainties,and external disruptions within the FAHVs.In parallel,the control strategy integrates reinforcement learning using an MLP-based actor-critic framework within the backstepping design to achieve both optimality and robustness.The actor performs control actions,while the critic assesses the optimal performance index function.To minimize this index function,an adaptive gradient descent method constructs both the actor and critic.Lyapunov analysis is employed to demonstrate that all signals in the closed-loop system are semiglobally uniformly ultimately bounded.Simulation results confirm that the proposed control strategy delivers high control performance,marked by improved accuracy and reduced energy consumption. 展开更多

Advances in software and hardware technologies have facilitated the production of quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs).Nowadays,people actively use quadrotor UAVs in essential missions such as search and rescue,counter-terrorism,firefighting,surveillance,and cargo transportation.While performing these tasks,quadrotors must operate in noisy environments.Therefore,a robust controller design that can control the altitude and attitude of the quadrotor in noisy environments is of great importance.Many researchers have focused only on white Gaussian noise in their studies,whereas researchers need to consider the effects of all colored noises during the operation of the quadrotor.This study aims to design a robust controller that is resistant to all colored noises.Firstly,a nonlinear quadrotormodel was created with MATLAB.Then,a backstepping controller resistant to colored noises was designed.Thedesigned backstepping controller was tested under Gaussian white,pink,brown,blue,and purple noises.PID and Lyapunov-based controller designswere also carried out,and their time responses(rise time,overshoot,settling time)were compared with those of the backstepping controller.In the simulations,time was in seconds,altitude was in meters,and roll,pitch,and yaw references were in radians.Rise and settling time values were in seconds,and overshoot value was in percent.When the obtained values are examined,simulations prove that the proposed backstepping controller has the least overshoot and the shortest settling time under all noise types. 展开更多

This paper presents an integrated missile guidance and control law based on adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control. The integrated model is formulated as a block-strict-feedback nonlinear system, in which modeling errors, unmodeled nonlinearities, target maneuvers, etc. are viewed as unknown uncertainties. The adaptive nonlinear control law is designed based on backstepping and sliding mode control techniques. An adaptive fuzzy system is adopted to approximate the coupling nonlinear functions of the system, and for the uncertainties, we utilize an online-adaptive control law to estimate the unknown parameters. The stability analysis of the closed-loop system is also conducted. Simulation results show that, with the application of the adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control, small miss distances and smooth missile trajectories are achieved, and the system is robust against system uncertainties and external disturbances. 展开更多

To overcome nonlinear and 6-DOF(degrees of freedom)under-actuated problems for the attitude and position of quadrotor UAVs,an adaptive backstepping sliding mode method for flight attitude of quadrotor UAVs is proposed,in which an adaptive law is designed to online estimate the parameter variations and the upper bound of external disturbances and the assessments is utilized to compensate the backstepping sliding mode control.In addition,the tracking error of the design method is shown to asymptotically converge to zero by using Lyapunov theory.Finally,based on the numerical simulation of quadrotor UAVs using the setting parameters,the results show that the proposed control approach can stabilize the attitude and has hover flight capabilities under the parameter perturbations and external disturbances. 展开更多

Dynamic modeling of a hose-drogue aerial refueling system(HDARS)and an integral sliding mode backstepping controller design for the hose whipping phenomenon(HWP)during probe-drogue coupling are studied.Firstly,a dynamic model of the variable-length hose-drogue assembly is built for the sake of exploiting suppression methods for the whipping phenomenon.Based on the lumped parameter method,the hose is modeled by a series of variable-length links connected with frictionless joints.A set of iterative equations of the hose's three-dimensional motion is derived subject to hose reeling in/out,tanker motion,gravity,and aerodynamic loads accounting for the effects of steady wind,atmospheric turbulence,and tanker wake.Secondly,relying on a permanent magnet synchronous motor and high-precision position sensors,a new active control strategy for the HWP on the basis of the relative position between the tanker and the receiver is proposed.Considering the strict-feedback configuration of the permanent magnet synchronous motor,a rotor position control law based on the backstepping method is designed to insure global stability.An integral of the rotor position error and an exponential sliding mode reaching law of the current errors are applied to enhance control accuracy and robustness.Finally,the simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed model and control laws. 展开更多

Combining sliding mode control method with radial basis function neural network (RBFNN), this paper proposes a robust adaptive control scheme based on backstepping design for re-entry attitude tracking control of near space hypersonic vehicle (NSHV) in the presence of parameter variations and external disturbances. In the attitude angle loop, a robust adaptive virtual control law is designed by using the adaptive method to estimate the unknown upper bound of the compound uncertainties. In the angular velocity loop, an adaptive sliding mode control law is designed to suppress the effect of parameter variations and external disturbances. The main benefit of the sliding mode control is robustness to parameter variations and external disturbances. To further improve the control performance, RBFNNs are introduced to approximate the compound uncertainties in the attitude angle loop and angular velocity loop, respectively. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, the tracking errors are shown to be asymptotically stable. Simulation results show that the proposed control system attains a satisfied control performance and is robust against parameter variations and external disturbances. © 2014 Chinese Association of Automation. 展开更多

This paper presents an adaptive gain-scheduled backstepping control(AGSBC) scheme for the balance control of an underactuated mechanical power-line inspection(PLI) robotic system with two degrees of freedom and a single control input.First, a nonlinear dynamic model of the balance adjustment process of the PLI robot is constructed, and then the model is linearized at a nominal equilibrium point to overcome the computational infeasibility of the conventional backstepping technique. Second, to solve generalized stabilization control issue for underactuated systems with multiple equilibrium points,an equilibrium manifold linearized model is developed using a scheduling variable, and then a gain-scheduled backstepping control(GSBC) scheme for expanding the operational area of the controlled system is constructed. Finally, an adaptive mechanism is proposed to counteract the impact of external disturbances. The robust stability of the closed-loop system is ensured by Lyapunov theorem. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and high performance of the proposed scheme compared with other control schemes. 展开更多

针对电液伺服系统中存在非线性不确定参数的问题,提出了一种采用积分型Lyapunov函数的自适应backstepping控制方法.首先定义积分型Lyapunov函数,将电液伺服系统中的非线性不确定参数转化为线性表示;然后逐步递推设计backstepping控制器... 针对电液伺服系统中存在非线性不确定参数的问题,提出了一种采用积分型Lyapunov函数的自适应backstepping控制方法.首先定义积分型Lyapunov函数,将电液伺服系统中的非线性不确定参数转化为线性表示;然后逐步递推设计backstepping控制器,同时在控制律中加入阻尼项,从而补偿外界干扰对控制性能的影响;基于Lyapunov稳定性方法,设计了参数自适应律,并且在自适应律中引入充分光滑投影算子,实现对电液伺服系统中不确定参数漂移的抑制作用.搭建了AMESim与MATLAB的联合仿真平台,对所设计的自适应backstepping控制器进行仿真,作为对比,设计了不带有非线性参数估计的自适应backstepping控制器和PID算法.仿真表明,本文所设计的控制器具有良好的跟踪性能和补偿非线性不确定参数变化的能力. 展开更多
