Although iterative learning control(ILC)has been widely used in batch processes,designing an optimal iterative learning control scheme for batch systems with unknown dynamics and time-varying parameters remains an open problem.In this paper,we propose a novel two-dimensional model-free offpolicy optimal iterative learning control to achieve optimal control performance for linear time-varying batch systems.First,the one-dimensional state space is expanded to the two-dimensional state space by integrating time and batch information.Then,based on dynamic programming and a recursive algorithm,the framework of two-dimensional model-based optimal iterative learning control is established.Based on this framework,twodimensional model-free optimal iterative learning control is further developed using model-free Q-learning reinforcement learning.The optimal iterative learning control policy is obtained through online off-policy iteration using historical and online operation data.Meanwhile,a rigorous convergence proof of the model-free optimal iterative learning control law is presented.Finally,the simulation results in the injection molding batch process demonstrate the proposed control scheme's effectiveness,feasibility,and significant improvement in control performance. 展开更多

This study examined the effects of modified Gum Arabic(OLLA-g-GA),modified Euphorbia trigona Mill(OLLA-g-ETML),and their master batch(OLLA-g-GA-OLLA-g-ETML)on the non-isothermal crystallisation and thermal stability of poly(lactic acid)(PLA).The interface interactions of PLA with the modifiers before and after modification were analysed and identified using FTIR spectroscopy,which displayed different peak formations and intensities compared to neat PLA,indicating physical interactions with the modifiers.Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)was used to study non-isothermal crystallisation at a heating rate of 10○C/min.Tensile strength and elongation at break of PLA improved by the addition of biofiller.The incorporation of OLLA-g-GA,OLLA-g-ETML,and their master batch enhanced the crystallinity enhancement to 39.32%,36.30%,and 40.39%,respectively,from 31.36%(for neat PLA)to 35.28%.Thermal annealing increased the crystallinity of the PLA/master batch composites to 45.83%.These findings confirm that blending PLA with modified gum Arabica,Euphorbia trigona Mill,and master batch had a positive effect on the crystallisation and thermal stability of PLA,demonstrating a successful methodology for improving the performance of biodegradable polymer composites. 展开更多

This study investigates the impact of Type D additive,Plastiment 83 AM,on the compressive strength and microstructure of Portland Composite Cement(PCC)concrete with a target compressive strength of 18.7 MPa,utilizing a mixing,stirring,and treatment model that simulates batching plant conditions.The study investigated additive dosages of 0%,0.15%,0.25%,0.35%,and 0.40%,with stirring durations of 15 min,2,4,6,and 6.5 h.Compressive strength tests were conducted at the ages of 7,14,28,56,and 90 days on cylindrical specimens,and at 24 h for setting time tests.Microstructural analysis using Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy(EDX)was performed at 56 days of age.The results showed that the optimal dosage was 0.15%,combined with the addition of Plastiment 83 AM 0.10%at 2 h of stirring,which achieved the highest compressive strength of 20.5 MPa at 90 days.A reduction in compressive strength of the setting time samples from the initial value to 24 h was observed in mixtures stirred for 6 and 6.5 h.A decrease in compressive strength was also observed in both mixtures between 56 and 90 days.EDX analysis revealed different chemical compositions in each mix.At a stirring duration of 6 and 6.5 h,Plastiment 83 AM dosages of 0.35%and 0.40%showed the presence of Magnesium(Mg)and Aluminium(Al)(at 6 h)and Al and phosphorus(at 6.5 h).The presence of inhibited the hydration process,resulting in a very small increase in compressive strength from 14 to 28 days.Magnesium reduced the compressive strength to 75%,and phosphorus to 63%of the target compressive strength. 展开更多

Both flexible jobshop scheduling and parallel batch processing machine scheduling have been extensively considered;however,the flexible jobshop and parallel batch processing machine scheduling problem(FJPBPMSP)is prevalent in real-life manufacturing processes and is seldom investigated.In this study,FJPBPMSP is examined,where flexible processing and batch processing are performed sequentially.An adaptive imperialist competitive algorithm with cooperation(CAICA)is proposed to minimize makespan and total energy consumption simultaneously.In CAICA,a four-string representation is adopted,and initial empires with novel structures are formed by uniformly dividing the population.An adaptive assimilation and revolution are designed.An adaptive assimilation and revolution are designed.An adaptive imperialist competition with cooperation is provided.Search strategies,imperialists,and colonies are also renewed by new procedures.Computational experiments are conducted on 50 instances.The computational results show that the new strategies of CAICA are effective,and CAICA can provide better results than its comparative algorithms in solving FJPBPMSP. 展开更多

With the emergence of AI-agent communication networks(ACN)in the 6G era,the efficient training of agents for complex reasoning tasks has become a critical capability for scalable ACN deployment.As a representative complex reasoning task,retrievalaugmented multi-hop question answering(e.g.,agentic retrievalaugmented generation)requires agents to perform multi-step reasoning through reflection,planning,and tool-use mechanisms.However,reinforcement learning training still faces reward sparsity and sample efficiency challenges,limiting agents’rapid evolution and adaptability.We propose dynamic batch-aware advantage weighting(DB-AW),integrating two core components at the batch level:the difficulty-aware weighting component dynamically amplifies positive advantages based on long-term success rates,directing learning toward learnable yet challenging samples;and the batch filtering component removes zero-variance groups,ensuring each update contains non-zero gradient signals.Experiments show that DB-AW achieves 18%,17%,and 15%relative improvements on Qwen2.5-7B,Qwen2.5-3B,and LLaMA3.2-3B,respectively,while improving the effective update rate from 68% to 100%,significantly reducing agent training costs.As a lightweight and reusable algorithmic module,DB-AW can be readily integrated into methods such as group relative policy optimization(GRPO),providing a practical pathway for efficient training of complex reasoning agents in ACN. 展开更多

Dividing wall batch distillation with middle vessel(DWBDM)is a new type of batch distillation column,with outstanding advantages of low capital cost,energy saving and flexible operation.However,temperature control of DWBDM process is challenging,since inherently dynamic and highly nonlinear,which make it difficult to give the controller reasonable set value or optimal temperature profile for temperature control scheme.To overcome this obstacle,this study proposes a new strategy to develop temperature control scheme for DWBDM combining neural network soft-sensor with fuzzy control.Dynamic model of DWBDM was firstly developed and numerically solved by Python,with three control schemes:composition control by PID and fuzzy control respectively,and temperature control by fuzzy control with neural network soft-sensor.For dynamic process,the neural networks with memory functions,such as RNN,LSTM and GRU,are used to handle with time-series data.The results from a case example show that the new control scheme can perform a good temperature control of DWBDM with the same or even better product purities as traditional PID or fuzzy control,and fuzzy control could reduce the effect of prediction error from neural network,indicating that it is a highly feasible and effective control approach for DWBDM,and could even be extended to other dynamic processes. 展开更多

As a complicated optimization problem,parallel batch processing machines scheduling problem(PBPMSP)exists in many real-life manufacturing industries such as textiles and semiconductors.Machine eligibility means that at least one machine is not eligible for at least one job.PBPMSP and scheduling problems with machine eligibility are frequently considered;however,PBPMSP with machine eligibility is seldom explored.This study investigates PBPMSP with machine eligibility in fabric dyeing and presents a novel shuffled frog-leaping algorithm with competition(CSFLA)to minimize makespan.In CSFLA,the initial population is produced in a heuristic and random way,and the competitive search of memeplexes comprises two phases.Competition between any two memeplexes is done in the first phase,then iteration times are adjusted based on competition,and search strategies are adjusted adaptively based on the evolution quality of memeplexes in the second phase.An adaptive population shuffling is given.Computational experiments are conducted on 100 instances.The computational results showed that the new strategies of CSFLA are effective and that CSFLA has promising advantages in solving the considered PBPMSP. 展开更多

南华北盆地西北缘主力层段山西组—太原组发育多期次断裂.该区非均质性较强、裂隙形成机制复杂、小尺度隐伏断裂比较发育,利用常规预测手段获得的小尺度裂缝边界特征模糊,精度较低,严重制约了深部煤系气的开发进程.因此,亟需寻找一种适... 南华北盆地西北缘主力层段山西组—太原组发育多期次断裂.该区非均质性较强、裂隙形成机制复杂、小尺度隐伏断裂比较发育,利用常规预测手段获得的小尺度裂缝边界特征模糊,精度较低,严重制约了深部煤系气的开发进程.因此,亟需寻找一种适合于研究区的隐伏构造预测方法.本文以JF1井区为例,提出融合灰度共生矩阵的纹理分析和Mini Batch K-means深度聚类的隐伏断裂识别方法.首先,本文采用时变分频反褶积技术进行了拓频处理,获取了宽频带的叠后地震数据.然后,通过优化三维滑动窗口尺度和灰度级数,在滑动窗口按照指定的真倾角和方位角生成灰度共生矩阵,分别提取熵、差异性、均一性及能量的纹理特征.将基于真倾角、方位角约束的纹理属性作为样本数据,设定Mini Batch K-means初始聚类中心,优化小批量数据子集,建立适合JF1井区的Mini Batch Kmeans深度学习模型.最后,基于智能蚁群算法优选裂缝优势路径,结合连续裂缝网格的粗化网格,构建小尺度连续缝网模型,可以获得局部隐伏断裂系统的连通性规律.结果表明,小批量、分批次的Mini Batch Kmeans算法对隐伏断裂系统分析具有重要作用.Mini Batch K-means深度学习模型和小尺度连通性预测方法对南华北盆地JF1井区隐伏断裂发育区的预测具有较好的应用效果. 展开更多

On-device Artificial Intelligence(AI)accelerators capable of not only inference but also training neural network models are in increasing demand in the industrial AI field,where frequent retraining is crucial due to frequent production changes.Batch normalization(BN)is fundamental to training convolutional neural networks(CNNs),but its implementation in compact accelerator chips remains challenging due to computational complexity,particularly in calculating statistical parameters and gradients across mini-batches.Existing accelerator architectures either compromise the training accuracy of CNNs through approximations or require substantial computational resources,limiting their practical deployment.We present a hardware-optimized BN accelerator that maintains training accuracy while significantly reducing computational overhead through three novel techniques:(1)resourcesharing for efficient resource utilization across forward and backward passes,(2)interleaved buffering for reduced dynamic random-access memory(DRAM)access latencies,and(3)zero-skipping for minimal gradient computation.Implemented on a VCU118 Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA)on 100 MHz and validated using You Only Look Once version 2-tiny(YOLOv2-tiny)on the PASCALVisualObjectClasses(VOC)dataset,our normalization accelerator achieves a 72%reduction in processing time and 83%lower power consumption compared to a 2.4 GHz Intel Central Processing Unit(CPU)software normalization implementation,while maintaining accuracy(0.51%mean Average Precision(mAP)drop at floating-point 32 bits(FP32),1.35%at brain floating-point 16 bits(bfloat16)).When integrated into a neural processing unit(NPU),the design demonstrates 63%and 97%performance improvements over AMD CPU and Reduced Instruction Set Computing-V(RISC-V)implementations,respectively.These results confirm that our proposed BN hardware design enables efficient,high-accuracy,and power-saving on-device training for modern CNNs.Our results demonstrate that efficient hardware implementation of standard batch normalization is achievable without sacrificing accuracy,enabling practical on-device CNN training with significantly reduced computational and power requirements. 展开更多

Cloud storage,a core component of cloud computing,plays a vital role in the storage and management of data.Electronic Health Records(EHRs),which document users’health information,are typically stored on cloud servers.However,users’sensitive data would then become unregulated.In the event of data loss,cloud storage providers might conceal the fact that data has been compromised to protect their reputation and mitigate losses.Ensuring the integrity of data stored in the cloud remains a pressing issue that urgently needs to be addressed.In this paper,we propose a data auditing scheme for cloud-based EHRs that incorporates recoverability and batch auditing,alongside a thorough security and performance evaluation.Our scheme builds upon the indistinguishability-based privacy-preserving auditing approach proposed by Zhou et al.We identify that this scheme is insecure and vulnerable to forgery attacks on data storage proofs.To address these vulnerabilities,we enhanced the auditing process using masking techniques and designed new algorithms to strengthen security.We also provide formal proof of the security of the signature algorithm and the auditing scheme.Furthermore,our results show that our scheme effectively protects user privacy and is resilient against malicious attacks.Experimental results indicate that our scheme is not only secure and efficient but also supports batch auditing of cloud data.Specifically,when auditing 10,000 users,batch auditing reduces computational overhead by 101 s compared to normal auditing. 展开更多

Fabric dyeing is a critical production process in the clothing industry and heavily relies on batch processing machines(BPM).In this study,the parallel BPM scheduling problem with machine eligibility in fabric dyeing is considered,and an adaptive cooperated shuffled frog-leaping algorithm(ACSFLA)is proposed to minimize makespan and total tardiness simultaneously.ACSFLA determines the search times for each memeplex based on its quality,with more searches in high-quality memeplexes.An adaptive cooperated and diversified search mechanism is applied,dynamically adjusting search strategies for each memeplex based on their dominance relationships and quality.During the cooperated search,ACSFLA uses a segmented and dynamic targeted search approach,while in non-cooperated scenarios,the search focuses on local search around superior solutions to improve efficiency.Furthermore,ACSFLA employs adaptive population division and partial population shuffling strategies.Through these strategies,memeplexes with low evolutionary potential are selected for reconstruction in the next generation,while thosewithhighevolutionarypotential are retained to continue their evolution.Toevaluate the performance of ACSFLA,comparative experiments were conducted using ACSFLA,SFLA,ASFLA,MOABC,and NSGA-CC in 90 instances.The computational results reveal that ACSFLA outperforms the other algorithms in 78 of the 90 test cases,highlighting its advantages in solving the parallel BPM scheduling problem with machine eligibility. 展开更多

The production of butyric acid by Clostridium butyricum ZJUCB at various pH values was investigated. In order to study the effect of pH on cell growth, butyric acid biosynthesis and reducing sugar consumption, different cultivation pH values ranging from 6.0 to 7.5 were evaluated in 5-L bioreactor. In controlled pH batch fermentation, the optimum pH for cell growth and butyric acid production was 6.5 with a cell yield of 3.65 g/L and butyric acid yield of 12.25 g/L. Based on these results, this study then compared batch and fed-batch fermentation of butyric acid production at pH 6.5. Maximum value (16.74 g/L) of butyric acid concentration was obtained in fed-batch fermentation compared to 12.25 g/L in batch fermentation. It was concluded that culti- vation under fed-batch fermentation mode could enhance butyric acid production significantly (P<0.01) by C. butyricum ZJUCB. 展开更多

In order to solve the flexible job shop scheduling problem with variable batches,we propose an improved multiobjective optimization algorithm,which combines the idea of inverse scheduling.First,a flexible job shop problem with the variable batches scheduling model is formulated.Second,we propose a batch optimization algorithm with inverse scheduling in which the batch size is adjusted by the dynamic feedback batch adjusting method.Moreover,in order to increase the diversity of the population,two methods are developed.One is the threshold to control the neighborhood updating,and the other is the dynamic clustering algorithm to update the population.Finally,a group of experiments are carried out.The results show that the improved multi-objective optimization algorithm can ensure the diversity of Pareto solutions effectively,and has effective performance in solving the flexible job shop scheduling problem with variable batches. 展开更多

Nonlinear model predictive control(NMPC) is an appealing control technique for improving the performance of batch processes, but its implementation in industry is not always possible due to its heavy on-line computation. To facilitate the implementation of NMPC in batch processes, we propose a real-time updated model predictive control method based on state estimation. The method includes two strategies: a multiple model building strategy and a real-time model updated strategy. The multiple model building strategy is to produce a series of sim-plified models to reduce the on-line computational complexity of NMPC. The real-time model updated strategy is to update the simplified models to keep the accuracy of the models describing dynamic process behavior. The me-thod is validated with a typical batch reactor. Simulation studies show that the new method is efficient and robust with respect to model mismatch and changes in process parameters. 展开更多

This study proposes a batch-to-batch optimization strategy for the estimation of uncertain kinetic.par.ameters in a batch crystallization process of potassium sulfate production. The knowledge of a crystal size distribution of the product at the end of batch operation is used in the proposed methodology. The efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)is based on the combined effects of its constituents.Variation in chemical composition between batches of TCM has always been the deterring factor in achieving consistency in efficacy.The batch mixing process can significantly reduce the batch-to-batch quality variation in TCM extracts by mixing them in a well-designed proportion.However,reducing the quality variation without sacrificing too much of the production efficiency is one of the challenges.Accordingly,an innovative and practical batch mixing method aimed at providing acceptable efficiency for industrial production of TCM products is proposed in this work,which uses a minimum number of batches of extracts to meet the content limits.The important factors affecting the utilization ratio of the extracts(URE)were studied by simulations.The results have shown that URE was affected by the correlation between the contents of constituents,and URE decreased with the increase in the number of targets and the relative standard deviations of the contents.URE could be increased by increasing the number of storage tanks.The results have provided a reference for designing the batch mixing process.The proposed method has possible application value in reducing the quality variation in TCM and providing acceptable production efficiency simultaneously. 展开更多

Rational planning of spares configuration project is an effective approach to improve equipment availability as well as reduce life cycle cost (LCC). With an analysis of various impacts on support system, the spares demand rate forecast model is constructed. According to systemic analysis method, spares support effectiveness evaluation indicators system is built, and then, initial spares configuration and optimization method is researched. To the issue of discarding and con-sumption for incomplete repairable items, its expected backorders function is approximated by Laplace demand distribution. Combining the (s-1, s) and (R, Q) inventory policy, the spares resup-ply model is established under the batch ordering policy based on inventory state, and the optimi-zation analysis flow for spares configuration is proposed. Through application on shipborne equipment spares configuration, the given scenarios are analyzed under two constraint targets:one is the support effectiveness, and the other is the spares cost. Analysis reveals that the result is consistent with practical regulation;therefore, the model's correctness, method's validity as well as optimization project's rationality are proved to a certain extent. 展开更多

The effects of tourmaline on nitrogen removal performance and biofilm structures were comparatively investigated in two identical laboratory-scale sequencing batch biofilm reactors(SBBRs)(denoted SBBR1 and SBBR2) at different nitrogen loading rates(NLRs) varying from(0.24 ± 0.01) to(1.26 ± 0.02) g N/(L·day). SBBR1 was operated in parallel with SBBR2, but SBBR1 was filled with polyurethane foam loaded tourmaline(TPU) carriers and another(SBBR2) filled with polyurethane foam(PU) carriers. Results obtained from this study showed that the excellent and stable performance of SBBR1 was obtained. Ammonia nitrogen removal and total nitrogen removal were higher in SBBR1 than that in SBBR2 with increase of NLR. At an NLR of(0.24 ± 0.01) g N/(L·day), the majority of the spherical and elliptical bacteria were surrounded by the extracellular polymeric substance(EPS) and bacillus or filamentous bacteria in two SBBRs biofilms. When NLR increased to(1.26 ± 0.02) g N/(L·day), the clusters were more obvious in the SBBR1 biofilm than that in the SBBR2 biofilm. Bacteria in SBBR1 were inclined to synthesis more EPS, and the formed EPS could protect the bacteria from free ammonia(FA) under extreme condition NLR(1.26 ± 0.02) g N/(L·day). The results of polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis analysis showed that the microbial community similarity in SBBR2 decreased more obviously than that in SBBR1 with the increase of NLR, which the microbial community in SBBR1 was relatively stable. 展开更多
