Background: In response to the limitations of logical empiricism, interpretivism emerged as a philosophical approach for developing nursing knowledge. This paper discusses interpretivist constructivism and its value to qualitative nursing research. Methods: The paper synthesizes relevant literature on the importance of interpretivist constructivism in nursing research. It reviews the key elements of interpretivism, the principles of constructivism, the connection between the two approaches, the benefits and limitations of constructivism in nursing research, and the steps for conducting constructivist stroke nursing research. Results: Interpretivist constructivism emphasizes the importance of human experiences, interactions, and social contexts in knowledge development. It allows nurse researchers to adopt flexible, participant-driven approaches to explore and understand complex subjective human phenomena. This approach respects the unique perspectives and contexts of stakeholders, including patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and knowledge users. By following specific steps, constructivist researchers can improve the rigor, transparency, and validity of qualitative nursing research while reducing biases in interpreting the inherently subjective experiences of patients. Conclusion: A deeper understanding of the complexities of interpretivism and constructivism in qualitative research is essential. Based on a new theoretical perspective, this paper attempts to unify the seemingly incompatible learning theories of Connectivism and Constructivism into a scientific theoretical framework. The Connectivism-Constructivism learning theory is not a simple superposition of the two theories. Instead, it absorbs the essence of the learning theory of Constructivism, Connectivism and Neo-Constructivism, and takes the two empirical scientific experimental results of developmental cognitive neuroscience and spiking neural network as the factual basis, and develops two theories from the perspective of development. Integration, to achieve the resolution of contradictions, complement each other, and then rebuild. This paper discusses Connectivism-Constructivism learning theory. The theory holds that the essence of knowledge is the connection between the subject and the environment. There are two forms: physical form and logical form. The only logical form can be realized and utilized by people. Learning can be divided into two stages: connection and construction. Connection is the premise, construction is the core, and the network action generated in the connection stage as a raw material is pruned, and processed by various systems in the construction stage to become psychological representation. When the psychological representation is used, the relevant network shaping is finished, and the meaningful network is formed, which completes the change of knowledge from physical form to logical form and from logical form to physical form. Therefore, learning is the process of constructing meaningful network. We should not only promote the students’ connection stage, but also help the students’ construction stage. The innovation and breakthrough contribution of this paper is that it is the first time to look at the topic of learning theory from a new research perspective. In order to explore a more convincing learning theoretical framework, this article takes the lead in seeking theoretical support and factual basis from developmental cognitive neuroscience and Spiking neural network. As a result, Connectivism learning theory and Constructivism learning theory are successfully integrated into a rather complete and effective theoretical framework to reconstruct Connectivism-Constructivism learning theory. 展开更多

The article provides an analysis of the approach to cognition in the theory of constructivism according to different constructivism concepts such as： methodical constructivism, scientific-theoretical constructivism, natural epistemology, personal construct theory, social constructivism, concepts of some radical constructivism representatives, constructive realism. The analysis demonstrates that constructivism helps to establish subject＇s control over the reality perceived by him when eliminating any deviations or resentments from his preferable target condition. In this case, the model of the world cognized contains only the aspects which are relevant to subject＇s purposes and actions. It is advanced the idea the current stage of science development is connected with the change of its fundamental bases. As a result, the model of the reality becomes a result of interaction between subject of scientific and cognitive activity with the reality, but the ideas of constructivism in its classical meaning don＇t correspond to this conclusion. The author proves that cognition based on the constructive realism is the most appropriate to the modern stage of epistemology development as it cancels the opposition of constructivism and realism in some extent and promotes getting a rational knowledge about the reality by subject. 展开更多

In a highly complex, competitive, and innovative globalized world, the topic of competencies has emerged as means to link universities with the real needs of the firms. But this topic far from being clear is confusing and ambiguous in the specialized literature. Competencies have been classified in education according to two approaches--behaviorism and constructivism and a polemic arises when trying to determine which of them prevails in higher education. The Mexican Ministry of Education （SEP） asserts that the constructivist approach prevails in Mexico, while the one behaviorist has considerably diminished in the face-to-face, e-learning, and b-learning modalities. A non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive, and simple cross-sectional research was designed with the aim to analyze the effectiveness of the different educational modalities to develop competencies at the undergraduate schools of the business area of UPAEP. The results show that a behaviorist approach prevails even if the discourse is constructivist. 展开更多

This article is based on fully studying the constructivism theory and the agile software development method which are combined and applied to English teaching; it designs the principle of construction and puts the agile method into English teaching in the frame work of it. Teachers＇ teaching initiative and innovativeness are mobilized and they are impelled to be active to construct. Students＇ impetus and confidence in learning English are aroused, and they play the leading roles and are responsible persons in English learning. Teachers interact with students to actively finish the constructing of English learning through teaching. The experimental studies have been made. The examination results, the questionnaire survey, and the targeted interviews demonstrate that the agile English teaching based on constructivism can fully mobilize the enthusiasm of English learning and strengthen self-confidence of English learning, and it has remarkable effect on listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The results showed that constructivism contributed to students＇ improvement in writing performance, autonomous and cooperative learning and critical thinking.
