Addressing Uncertainties in Decentralized Context Models of Autonomous Robot Teams 认领 引用

Autonomous robot teams operating in dynamic,uncertain environments require reliable mechanisms to build decentralized context models without centralized coordination.Traditional consensus methods often fail under uncertainty caused by inconsistent sensing,communication delays,or heterogeneous perception models.This paper introduces the Decentralized Belief Consensus(DBC)algorithm,a novel approach that integrates probabilistic reasoning with entropy-based certainty measures to enable adaptive and robust consensus formation in heterogeneous multi-robot systems.Each robot quantifies the uncertainty of its local observations using Shannon entropy,derives a certainty score,and fuses beliefs with neighbors through certainty-weighted averaging.This allows the team of autonomous robots to defer commitment when evidence is weak and dynamically adjust influence according to observation reliability.The DBC algorithm was evaluated through various simulations involving heterogeneous teams of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV)and umanned ground vehicles(UGV)tasked with mine detection under varying levels of noise,false detections,and team sizes.Results demonstrate that DBC achieves high accuracy,full consensus rates,and strong robustness while maintaining competitive convergence times compared to established algorithms such as LCP,WMSR,CDCI,DBBS,and EEV.By explicitly modeling uncertainty in both sensing and communication,DBC provides a scalable foundation for reliable decentralized context modeling and collective perception in autonomous robot teams. 展开更多

This paper proposes a method to recognize human-object interactions by modeling context between human actions and interacted objects.Human-object interaction recognition is a challenging task due to severe occlusion between human and objects during the interacting process.Since that human actions and interacted objects provide strong context information,i.e.some actions are usually related to some specific objects,the accuracy of recognition is significantly improved for both of them.Through the proposed method,both global and local temporal features from skeleton sequences are extracted to model human actions.In the meantime,kernel features are utilized to describe interacted objects.Finally,all possible solutions from actions and objects are optimized by modeling the context between them.The results of experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method. 展开更多

A method of environment mapping using laser-based light detection and ranging (LIDAR) is proposed in this paper. This method not only has a good detection performance in a wide range of detection angles, but also facilitates the detection of dynamic and hollowed-out obstacles. Essentially using this method, an improved clustering algorithm based on fast search and discovery of density peaks (CBFD) is presented to extract various obstacles in the environment map. By comparing with other cluster algorithms, CBFD can obtain a favorable number of clusterings automatically. Furthermore, the experiments show that CBFD is better and more robust in functionality and performance than the K-means and iterative self-organizing data analysis techniques algorithm (ISODATA). 展开更多

The web-based High-Performance Computing(HPC)platform provides a simulation environment that enables users to perform computational science and engineering tasks through web services,thereby eliminating the need for complex terminal-based environments.Notwithstanding the aforementioned advantages,extant platforms frequently necessitate a considerable degree of user expertise,whilst the intricacy of simulation configuration and execution engenders limitations in terms of accessibility and usability.Furthermore,while Retrieval-Augmented Generation(RAG)-based systems are effective for information retrieval,they are insufficient for accurately constructing and invoking executable service tools.In order to address these limitations,this study proposes a user agent system integrated within a web-based HPC simulation environment,said system being based on an LLM.The proposed system enhances user understanding of available applications and execution workflows,and supports precise configuration and execution of simulations.In order to facilitate practical service tool invocation,the system integrates Model Context Protocol(MCP)-based service tools and introduces an ontology-driven approach for object normalization and relational definition.The system leverages the structured relationships among service tools,transforming LLM outputs into actionable and accurate inputs for service execution.The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach significantly improves the accuracy of MCP-based service tool invocation and the appropriateness of responses when compared to conventional RAG-based methods.The proposed system enhances the accessibility and usability of HPC platforms and provides a practical framework for LLM-driven service automation. 展开更多

Based on the analysis of the process, product de... Process integration is the important aspect of product development process. The recent researches focus on project management, workflow management and process modeling. Based on the analysis of the process, product development process is divided into three levels according to different grains from macroscopy to microcosm. Our research concentrate on the workflow and the free-grained design process. According to the need of representing the data and the relationships among them for process integration, context model is introduced, and its characters are analyzed. The tree-like structure of inheritance among context model's classes is illustrated; The relationships of reference among them are also explained. Then, extensible markup language (XML) file is used to depict these classes. A four-tier framework of process integration has been established, in which model-view-controller pattern is designed to realize the separation between context model and its various views. The integration of applications is applied by the encapsulation of enterprise's business logic as distributed services. The prototype system for the design of air filter is applied in an institute. 展开更多

Density-functional-theory(DFT)simulations with the Vienna Ab initio Simulation Package(VASP)are indispensable in computational materials science but often require extensive manual setup,monitoring,and postprocessing.Here,we introduce VASPilot,an open-source platform that fully automates VASP workflows via a multi-agent architecture built on the CrewAI framework and a standardized model context protocol(MCP).VASPilot’s agent suite handles every stage of a VASP study from retrieving crystal structures and generating input files to submitting Slurm jobs,parsing error messages,and dynamically adjusting parameters for seamless restarts.A lightweight Quart-based web interface provides intuitive task submission,real-time progress tracking,and drill-down access to execution logs,structure visualizations,and plots.We validated VASPilot on both routine and advanced benchmarks:automated band-structure and density-of-states calculations(including on-the-fly symmetry corrections),plane-wave cutoff convergence tests,lattice-constant optimizations with various van der Waals corrections,and cross-material band-gap comparisons for transition-metal dichalcogenides.In all cases,VASPilot completed the missions reliably and without manual intervention.Moreover,its modular design allows easy extension to other DFT codes simply by deploying the appropriate MCP server.By offloading technical overhead,VASPilot enables researchers to focus on scientific discovery and accelerates high-throughput computational materials research. 展开更多

With the widespread deployment of large language models(LLMs)in complex and multimodal scenarios,there is a growing demand for secure and standardized integration of external tools and data sources.The Model Context Protocol(MCP),proposed by Anthropic in late 2024,has emerged as a promising framework.Designed to standardize the interaction between LLMs and their external environments,it serves as a“USB-C interface for AI”.While MCP has been rapidly adopted in the industry,systematic academic studies on its security implications remain scarce.This paper presents a comprehensive review of MCP from a security perspective.We begin by analyzing the architecture and workflow of MCP and identify potential security vulnerabilities across key stages including input processing,decision-making,client invocation,server response,and response generation.We then categorize and assess existing defense mechanisms.In addition,we design a real-world attack experiment to demonstrate the feasibility of tool description injection within an actual MCP environment.Based on the experimental results,we further highlight underexplored threat surfaces and propose future directions for securing AI agent systems powered by MCP.This paper aims to provide a structured reference framework for researchers and developers seeking to balance functionality and security in MCP-based systems. 展开更多

The paper presents a new architecture composed of bit plane-parallel coder for Embedded Block Coding with Optimized Truncation (EBCOT) entropy encoder used in JPEG2000. In the architecture, the coding information of each bit plane can be obtained simultaneously and processed parallel. Compared with other architectures, it has advantages of high parallelism, and no waste clock cycles for a single point. The experimental results show that it reduces the processing time about 86% than that of bit plane sequential scheme. A Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) prototype chip is designed and simulation results show that it can process 512×512 gray-scaled images with more than 30 frames per second at 52MHz. 展开更多

In weakly supervised video anomaly detection(WSVAD)tasks,the temporal relationships of video are crucial for modeling event patterns.Transformer is a commonly used method for modeling temporal relationships.However,due to the large amount of redundancy in videos and the quadratic complexity of the Transformer,this method cannot effectively model long-range information.In addition,most WSVAD methods select key snippets based on predicted scores to represent event patterns,but this paradigm is susceptible to noise interference.To address the above issues,a novel temporal context and representative feature learning(TCRFL)method for WSVAD is proposed.Specifically,a temporal context learning(TCL)module is proposed to utilize both Mamba with linear complexity and Transformer to capture short-range and long-range dependencies of events.In addition,a representative feature learning(RFL)module is proposed to mine representative snippets to capture important information about events,further spreading it to video features to enhance the influence of representative features.The RFL module not only suppresses noise interference but also guides the model to select key snippets more accurately.The experimental results on UCF-Crime,XD-Violence,and ShanghaiTech datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our method. 展开更多

Detecting and using bursty pattems to analyze text streams has been one of the fundamental approaches in many temporal text mining applications. So far, most existing studies have focused on developing methods to detect bursty features based purely on term frequency changes. Few have taken the semantic contexts of bursty features into consideration, and as a result the detected bursty features may not always be interesting and can be hard to interpret. In this article, we propose to model the contexts of bursty features using a language modeling approach. We propose two methods to estimate the context language models based on sentence-level context and document-level context. We then propose a novel topic diversity-based metric using the context models to find newsworthy bursty features. We also propose to use the context models to automatically assign meaningful tags to bursty features. Using a large corpus of news articles, we quantitatively show that the proposed context language models for bursty features can effectively help rank bursty features based on their newsworthiness and to assign meaningful tags to annotate bursty features. We also use two example text mining applications to qualitatively demonstrate the usefulness of bursty feature ranking and tagging. 展开更多

Context-awareness enhances human-centric, intelligent behavior in a smart environment; however context-awareness is not widely used due to the lack of effective infrastructure to support context-aware applications. This paper presents an agent-based middleware for providing context-aware services for smart spaces to afford effective support for context acquisition, representation, interpretation, and utilization to applications. The middleware uses a formal context model, which combines first order probabilistic logic (FOPL) and web ontology language (OWL) ontologies, to provide a common understanding of contextual information to facilitate context modeling and reasoning about imperfect and ambiguous contextual information and to enable context knowledge sharing and reuse. A context inference mechanism based on an extended Bayesian network approach is used to enable automated reactive and deductive reasoning. The middleware is used in a case study in a smart classroom, and performance evaluation result shows that the context reasoning algorithm is good for non-time-critical applications and that the complexity is highly sensitive to the size of the context dataset. 展开更多

This paper aims at preve... Recently correlation filter based trackers have attracted considerable attention for their high computational efficiency. However, they cannot handle occlusion and scale variation well enough. This paper aims at preventing the tracker from failure in these two situations by integrating the depth information into a correlation filter based tracker. By using RGB-D data, we construct a depth context model to reveal the spatial correlation between the target and its surrounding regions. Furthermore, we adopt a region growing method to make our tracker robust to occlusion and scale variation. Additional optimizations such as a model updating scheme are applied to improve the performance for longer video sequences. Both qualitative and quantitative evaluations on challenging benchmark image sequences demonstrate that the proposed tracker performs favourably against state-of-the-art algorithms. 展开更多

Subsequently, we present the application of the proposed model in work-based learning scenario to provide adapted learning supports to professionals. As an elegant generalization of wavelet transform, wavelet packet (WP) provides an effective representation tool for adaptive waveform analysis. Recent work shows that image-coding methods based on WP decomposition can achieve significant gain over those based on a usual wavelet transform. However, most of the work adopts a tree-structured quantization scheme, which is a successful technique for wavelet image coding, but not appropriate for WP subbands. This paper presents an image-coding algorithm based on a rate-distortion optimized wavelet packet decomposition and on an intraband block-partitioning scheme. By encoding each WP subband separately with the block-partitioning algorithm and the JPEG2000 context modeling, the proposed algorithm naturally avoids the difficulty in defining parent-offspring relationships for the WP coefficients, which has to be faced when adopting the tree-structured quanUzation scheme. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms SPIHT and JPEG2000 schemes and also surpasses state-of-the-art WP image coding algorithms, in terms of both PSNR and visual quality. 展开更多

Some microblog services encourage users to annotate themselves with multiple tags, indicating their attributes and interests. User tags play an important role for personalized recommendation and information retrieval. In order to better understand the semantics of user tags, we propose Tag Correspondence Model (TCM) to identify complex correspondences of tags from the rich context of microblog users. The correspondence of a tag is referred to as a unique element in the context which is semantically correlated with this tag. In TCM, we divide the context of a microblog user into various sources (such as short messages, user profile, and neighbors). With a collection of users with annotated tags, TCM can automatically learn the correspondences of user tags from multiple sources. With the learned correspondences, we are able to interpret implicit semantics of tags. Moreover, for the users who have not annotated any tags, TCM can suggest tags according to users' context information. Extensive experiments on a real-world dataset demonstrate that our method can efficiently identify correspondences of tags, which may eventually represent semantic meanings of tags. 展开更多
