In response, researchers have turned to continuous water splitting using forward osmosis(FO)-driven seawater desalination. However, the necessity of a neutral electrolyte hampers this strategy due to the limited current density and scarcity of precious metals. Herein, this study applies alkali-durable FO membranes to enable self-sustaining seawater splitting, which can selectively withdraw water molecules, from seawater, via concentration gradient. The membranes demonstrates outstanding perm-selectivity of water/ions(~5830 mol mol-1) during month-long alkaline resistance tests, preventing electrolyte leaching(>97% OHàretention) while maintaining ~95%water balance(VFO= Velectrolysis) via preserved concentration gradient for consistent forward-osmosis influx of water molecules. With the consistent electrolyte environment protected by the polyamide FO membranes, the Ni Fe-Ar-P catalyst exhibits promising performance: a sustain current density of 360 m A cmà2maintained at the cell voltage of 2.10 V and 2.15 V for 360 h in the offshore seawater, preventing Cl/Br corrosion(98% rejection) and Mg/Ca passivation(99.6% rejection). This research marks a significant advancement towards efficient and durable seawater-based hydrogen production.展开更多

The evolution of the modern Indus River Delta offers a rare opportunity to study the interplay between sea level fluctuations, tectonism, sediment supply, and the corresponding fluvial responses. This study employs the ‘SedSim' stratigraphic forward model to simulate the delta's evolution from 200 kyr to the next5 kyr, drawing on data from field observations, Landsat imagery, digital elevation models, and previous studies. The model consists of 205 layers, each representing a 1-kyr time step, covering the last two glacial-interglacial cycles. Between 200 kyr and 130 kyr, during a lowstand period, sedimentation on the delta plain continued due to partial flow from the Indus River. During the last interglacial(130–60 kyr), rising sea levels led to peak sediment deposition, characteristic of a highstand phase. From 60 kyr to 18 kyr, sea levels dropped to their lowest during the Last Glacial Maximum(LGM), resulting in extensive erosion and minimal deposition on the delta plain. From 18 kyr to the present, rapidly rising sea levels, coupled with intensified monsoon activity, increased sedimentation rates and triggered avulsion and aggradation processes. The model accurately predicted depositional thickness across the delta plain, indicating a maximum of ca. 200 m at the shoreline platform, ca. 175 m in the northeastern delta, and ca. 100 m in the central delta. The study underscores the delta's vulnerability to future sea level rise, which–at a projected rate of 1 m/kyr–could significantly influence the densely populated, low-lying delta plain. These findings offer valuable insights into the geomorphic evolution of the Indus Delta and emphasize the socioeconomic implications of sea level change, underscoring the importance of proactive management and adaptation strategies.展开更多

According to the new model, the difference between the forward slip of the wedge and that of the normal part of the plate is obviously very small. The deviation is less than 2.5 % in general. Thus, in actual application, the forward slip of normal part of the plate can be used to calculate the length of rolled plate instead of the derived model. The rationality of this simplified method was confirmed with the application in Shougang 3 500 mm plate mill. The test results showed that the wedges of plate head and tail are symmetrical. The plate width deviation is greatly decreased by using the MAS method.展开更多

An arm roll forwarder can only load a steel container that has been fully loaded with logs beforehand, and can later unload such a container. Such a forwarder can shorten the loading and untoading times and improve operational efficiency. We examined two operation systems with an arm roll forwarder and a forwarder. In the first system the loading was done with a grapple-loader. In the second system the loading was done with a processor. The loading times of an arm roll forwarder were significantly tess than those of a forwarder. Because the optimal cycle times (excluding the waiting times for an arm roll for- warder) were significantly reduced, the costs of using an arm roll for- warder are lower, although the loading capacity was small and the hourly operation cost was high. The maximum operational efficiencies varied depending on forwarding distances. The second operation system with an arm roll forwarder exhibited the best operational efficiency within a 1,580-m forwarding distance, and beyond that distance it exhibited the highest operational efficiency when a forwarder was used. Similarly, the cost of operation of the system with an arm roll forwarder was the lowest within a 1,130-m forwarding distance, and beyond that distance the cost was the lowest when using the forwarder. Therefore, the arm roll for- warder is effective within a certain forwarding distance.展开更多

摘要Shade tolerance is a key trait for cultivars in interelay-cropped soybeans in maize fields. Our previous genome-wide association study(GWAS)results on southern China soybean germplasm revealed that the shade tolerance was conferred by a complex of genes with multiple alleles. To complete our understanding of the shade tolerance gene system,GWAS with gene-allele sequences as markers(designated GASM-RTM-GWAS)was conducted in a recombinant inbred line(RIL)population between two extreme parents using the shade tolerance index(STI)and relative pith cell length(RCL)as indicators.Altogether,211 genes, comprising 99 and 119 genes(seven shared)for STI and RCL,respectively, were identified and then annotated into a similar set of five biological categories.Furthermore, transcriptome analysis detected 7837 differentially expressed genes(DEGs),indicating plentiful DEGs involved in the expression of regulatory/causal GWAS genes.Protein-protein interaction(PPI)analysis and gene functional analysis for both GWAS genes and DEGs showed a group of interrelated causal genes and a group of interrelated DEGs;the former were included in the latter and their functions were interconnected as a gene network. For further understanding of the response of soybean to shade stress in a sequential connection, six chronological gene modules were grouped as signal activation and transport,signal-transduction,signal amplification, gene expression, regulated metabolites, and material transport. From the modules,12 key genes were selected as entry points for further analysis. Our study provides an overview of the shade tolerance gene network as a new insight into a complex-trait genetic system, rather than the usual way of starting from a hand-picked single gene.

摘要Prefabricated twinning represents an effective strategy for optimizing the microstructure of extruded forming components and facilitating changes in texture. The study examines the incorporation of[10-12]twins into an AZ31 magnesium alloy billet via cold pre-upsetting deformation before alternating forward extrusion(CUAFE).The experimental results indicate that the initial presence of[10-12]twins is advantageous for the development of[10-10]and[11-20]texture components during the extrusion process. In addition, different DRX mechanisms have different influences on the evolution of basal texture. The CDRX grains tend to preferentially select the[11-20]texture orientation, weakening the[10-10]texture and enhancing the[11-20]texture.However,most DDRX grains deviate significantly from the orientation of their surrounding original grain and do not have a preferred orientation. This is reflected in the mechanical properties of the CUAFE part. The tensile strength is 323.5 MPa,while the elongation is as high as 20.1%.

摘要Parallel mechanisms with fewer degrees of freedom that incorporate two or more SPR limbs have been widely adopted in industrial applications in recent years. However, notable theoretical gaps persist, particularly in the field of analytical solutions for forward kinematics. To address this, this paper proposes an innovative forward kinematics analysis method based on Conformal Geometric Algebra(CGA)for complex hybrid mechanisms formed by serial concatenation of such parallel mechanisms. The method efficiently represents geometric elements and their operational relationships by defining appropriate unknown parameters. It constructs fundamental geometric objects such as spheres and planes, derives vertex expressions through intersection and dual operations, and establishes univariate high-order equations via inner product operations, ultimately obtaining complete analytical solutions for the forward kinematics of hybrid mechanisms.Using the(2-SPR+RPS)+(3-SPR)serial-parallel hybrid mechanism as a validation case, three configuration tests implemented in Mathematica demonstrate that:for each configuration, the upper 3-SPR mechanism yields 15 mathematical solutions, while the lower 2-SPR+RPS mechanism yields 4 mathematical solutions. After geometric constraint filtering,a unique physically valid solution is obtained for each mechanism.SolidWorks simulations further verify the correctness and reliability of the model. This research provides a reliable analytical method for forward kinematics of hybrid mechanisms, holding significant implications for advancing their applications in high-precision scenarios.
摘要Due to open communication environment,Internet of Vehicles(IoV)are vulnerable to many attacks, including the gray hole attack, which can disrupt the process of transmitting messages. And this results in the degradation of routing performance. To address this issue,a double deep Q-networks-based stable routing for resisting gray hole attack(DOSR)is proposed in this paper. The aim of the DOSR algorithm is to maximize the message delivery ratio as well as to minimize the transmission delay. For this, the distance ratio, message loss ratio, and connection ratio are taken into consideration when choosing a relay node. Then,to choose the relay node is formulated as an optimization problem, and a double deep Q-networks are utilized to solve the optimization problem.Experimental results show that DOSR outperforms QLTR and TLRP by significant margins:in scenarios with 400 vehicles and 10%malicious nodes, the message delivery ratio(MDR)of DOSR is 8.3%higher than that of QLTR and 5.1%higher than that of TLRP;the average transmission delay(ATD)is reduced by 23.3%compared to QLTR and 17.9%compared to TLRP.Additionally, sensitivity analysis of hyperparameters confirms the convergence and stability of DOSR,demonstrating its robustness in dynamic IoV environments.

摘要Seawater electrolysis for hydrogen production faces inherent challenges, including side reactions, corrosion, and scaling, stemming from the intricate composition of seawater. This research marks a significant advancement towards efficient and durable seawater-based hydrogen production.

摘要Fluvial systems play a crucial role in coastal and riverine ecosystems, making it essential to understand their responses to sea level changes for preserving biodiversity and managing natural resources. These findings offer valuable insights into the geomorphic evolution of the Indus Delta and emphasize the socioeconomic implications of sea level change, underscoring the importance of proactive management and adaptation strategies.
摘要A temperature and acoustic impedance simultaneous sensor based on forward stimulated Brillouin scattering(FSBS)in highly nonlinear fiber(HNLF)with high sensitivity and high accuracy is proposed and demonstrated in this paper.High-order acoustic modes(HOAMs)are used to achieve individual or simultaneous measurement of the two parameters.Transverse acoustic waves(TAWs)involved in the FSBS process can efficiently sense the mechanical or environmental changes outside the fiber cladding, which will be reflected in a linear shift of the acoustic resonance frequency.By analyzing the frequencies of specific scattering peaks, the temperature and acoustic impedance outside the fiber cladding can be obtained simultaneously. The highest measured temperature and acoustic impedance sensitivities are 184.93 k Hz/℃and444.56 k Hz/MRayl,and the measurement accuracies are 0.09℃and 0.009 MRayl, respectively, which are both at desirable levels. We believe this work can provide potential application solutions for sensing fields involving temperature or acoustic impedance measurements.

摘要Four-level pulse amplitude modulation(PAM4)signals,recognized for enhanced energy efficiency and spectral utilization compared with non-return-to-zero(NRZ)counterparts,have been adopted in multiple high-speed serializer/deserializer(SerDes)standards,but NRZ modulation remains predominant in industrial applications. This paper introduces a UMC 28 nm CMOS-based parallel configurable forward feedback equalization(FFE)dual-mode high-speed SerDes transmitter supporting 7-bit resolution with data rates of 56 Gb∙s-1NRZ and 112 Gb∙s-1PAM4,utilizing a hybrid architecture that integrates digital signal processing(DSP)with digital-to-analog conversion(DAC).The design processes parallel input signals and eight stored 8-bit tap coefficients through a configurable FFE multiplier module and parallel carry adder module, while achieving low-power serialization via low-speed 16∶4 multiplexers(MUXs)with two different 2∶1 MUXs and high-speed 4∶1 MUXs.A source series termination(SST)output network structure enhances lower power dissipation and higher output swing.Simulation results show that, under a 1.05 V supply voltage and a channel loss of 19.21 dB at 28 GHz,the output 56 Gb∙s-1NRZ eye diagram has an eye height of 70.11 mV and an eye width of 12.16 ps(0.68 UI).The output 112 Gb∙s-1PAM4 eye diagram has an eye height of 20.07 mV and an eye width of 7.49 ps(0.42 UI).The layout area of the dual-mode transmitter is 0.079 mm2,and the total circuit power consumption is 74.48 mW(energy efficiency is 1.33/0.67 pJ∙bit-1).

摘要Based on the MAS rolling process in plate mill, the mathematical models of forward and backward slips of the wedges at plate head and tail were derived. The plate width deviation is greatly decreased by using the MAS method.
摘要We investigated a developed arm roll forwarder at Nasu in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. Therefore, the arm roll for- warder is effective within a certain forwarding distance.
