The rapid growth of artificial intelligence has accelerated data generation,which increasingly exposes the limitations faced by traditional computational architectures,particularly in terms of energy consumption and data latency.In contrast,data-centric computing that integrates processing and storage has the potential of reducing latency and energy usage.Organic optoelectronic synaptic transistors have emerged as one type of promising devices to implement the data-centric com-puting paradigm owing to their superiority of flexibility,low cost,and large-area fabrication.However,sophisticated functions including vector-matrix multiplication that a single device can achieve are limited.Thus,the fabrication and utilization of organic optoelectronic synaptic transistor arrays(OOSTAs)are imperative.Here,we summarize the recent advances in OOSTAs.Various strategies for manufacturing OOSTAs are introduced,including coating and casting,physical vapor deposition,printing,and photolithography.Furthermore,innovative applications of the OOSTA system integration are discussed,including neuromor-phic visual systems and neuromorphic computing systems.At last,challenges and future perspectives of utilizing OOSTAs in real-world applications are discussed. 展开更多

First, the importance analysis of system integration factors is carried out with the analytic hierarchy process. Then, according to the analysis result of integration factors, the conceptual model of system integration is built based on function integration, index integration, technology integration and information integration, the index structure of core rock-fill dam filling construction quality control is constructed and the method of function integration and technology integration is studied. The mathematical model of process monitoring is built according to monitoring objective, process and indexes. Research results have been applied in Nuozhadu core rock-fill dam construction management, realizing system integration through building appropriate monitoring work flow and comprehensive information platform of digital dam. 展开更多

Solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs)and solid oxide electrolysis cells(SOECs)are next-generation energy conversion technologies that have attracted widespread attention due to their high efficiency,fuel flexibility,and environmental friendliness.The reversible reaction processes of the two can achieve power generation and energy storage in one device.This paper provides an extensive overview of the latest developments in the field of SOFCs and SOECs,including types,material synthesis,mechanism research,and system integration.First,we introduce the classification of current SOFCs/SOECs according to their different supports and conducting ions.Then,we summarize the synthesis methods and optimization strategies for key materials,including the latest developments in electrolytes,electrodes,and interconnects.Subsequently,the electrochemical mechanisms,including ion transport,electron conduction,electrochemical reaction kinetics,and interfacial phenomena,are analyzed in depth.This paper also outlines challenges and strategies for system integration,such as thermal management,fluid dynamics,and mechanical stress control.Through comprehensive analysis,this review aimsto provide researchers with a holistic perspective and guidance for the future development of SOFCs and SOECs.We close by discussing the main challenges and future research directions for further promoting the commercialization and large-scale development of these technologies. 展开更多

Since the first design of tactile sensors was proposed by Harmon in 1982,tactile sensors have evolved through four key phases:industrial applications(1980s,basic pressure detection),miniaturization via MEMS(1990s),flexible electronics(2010s,stretchable materials),and intelligent systems(2020s-present,AI-driven multimodal sensing).With the innovation of material,processing techniques,and multimodal fusion of stimuli,the application of tactile sensors has been continuously expanding to a diversity of areas,including but not limited to medical care,aerospace,sports and intelligent robots.Currently,researchers are dedicated to develop tactile sensors with emerging mechanisms and structures,pursuing high-sensitivity,high-resolution,and multimodal characteristics and further constructing tactile systems which imitate and approach the performance of human organs.However,challenges in the combination between the theoretical research and the practical applications are still significant.There is a lack of comprehensive understanding in the state of the art of such knowledge transferring from academic work to technical products.Scaled-up production of laboratory materials faces fatal challenges like high costs,small scale,and inconsistent quality.Ambient factors,such as temperature,humidity,and electromagnetic interference,also impair signal reliability.Moreover,tactile sensors must operate across a wide pressure range(0.1 k Pa to several or even dozens of MPa)to meet diverse application needs.Meanwhile,the existing algorithms,data models and sensing systems commonly reveal insufficient precision as well as undesired robustness in data processing,and there is a realistic gap between the designed and the demanded system response speed.In this review,oriented by the design requirements of intelligent tactile sensing systems,we summarize the common sensing mechanisms,inspired structures,key performance,and optimizing strategies,followed by a brief overview of the recent advances in the perspectives of system integration and algorithm implementation,and the possible roadmap of future development of tactile sensors,providing a forward-looking as well as critical discussions in the future industrial applications of flexible tactile sensors. 展开更多

Purpose-With the development of railway systems towards intelligence,informatization and networking,their architecture design becomes increasingly complex.Traditional safety analysis methods(such as failure mode and effects analysis(FMEA),fault tree analysis(FTA)and event tree analysis)can no longer realise integrated safety analysis across disciplines,domains and life cycles amid requirement drift,architecture iteration and operational scenario evolution.This paper aims to introduce a systematic,integrated,model-driven safety analysis framework for the entire life cycle of railway systems to address these complex safety challenges and improve the overall safety level of railway systems.Design/methodology/approach-First,the paper conducts a literature review of traditional railway safety analysis techniques and their applications,and analyzes the technical framework,core elements(modelling languages,methods,and tools),and advantages of Model-Based Systems Engineering(MBSE).Then,it studies the integration of MBSE and system safety analysis,focusing on typical international research cases(e.g.,the Methodology for the Description and Safety Analysis of Interoperable Systems(MeDISIS),the European Train Control System(ETCS)safety verification project SafeSysE,and the Reference Architecture for Model-Based System and Software Engineering in the Railway Domain(RAMSAS),etc.)and domestic research progress,and summarizes the core idea of integrating MBSE with safety analysis in the design process.Finally,it explores the key technologies of MBSE-based railway system safety analysis,including automatic mapping of architecture models to Fault Tree Analysis(FTA),dynamic linkage between behaviour models and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis(FMEA),multi-model collaboration and dynamic update,as well as technologies in three aspects:safety requirement analysis driven by railway operational tasks,integrated safety-function design analysis,and simulation-based safety verification via train-fleet operation modelling.The development and validation platform Platform for Integrated Systems and Mechatronic Engineering(PRISME)and tools such as the Dependability Engineering and Innovation System(DEIS),Behavior-Driven Development(BDD)frameworks,and International Business Machines(IBM)engineering suites were also utilized to support this research.Findings-The MBSE-based railway system safety analysis technique embeds safety activities into the forward-engineering workflow of MBSE-driven development,enabling concurrent safety and functional design.It solves the problems of model heterogeneity,data silos and process discontinuities in traditional safety analysis and realises end-to-end traceability and consistency from system requirements to safety analysis results.This technique not only provides a rigorous foundation for standardised,efficient and accurate safety assessment of railway systems but also offers technical support for early identification of potential safety issues,reduction of late-stage design changes and continuous optimisation of system safety performance.Originality/value-The innovation of this paper mainly includes three aspects:(1)It breaks the limitations of traditional document-driven safety analysis methods,constructs an MBSE-based integrated safety analysis framework covering the entire life cycle of railway systems and turns safety work from an ad-hoc add-on into a systematic,goal-oriented activity.(2)It proposes key integration technologies such as automatic mapping of SysML-based architecture models to FTA,dynamic linkage between behaviour models(state machine diagram/activity diagram)and FMEA and multi-model(FTA/FMEA/hazard and operability analysis)collaborative dynamic update,which guarantee the consistency and traceability of safety analysis data and improve the efficiency of safety analysis iteration.(3)It develops a set of MBSE-based railway safety analysis implementation paths,including task-driven safety requirement decomposition,integrated safety function failure propagation modelling and train-fleet operation simulation-based verification,providing a practical technical solution for the safety design and analysis of complex railway systems. 展开更多

Nowadays a major energy transition aimed at cutting CO 2 emissions has begun,with the ambitious goal of drasti-cally reducing the dependence on fossil fuels and promoting the use of renewable energy sources.In this context,energy storage systems play a key role in ensuring a stable,secure and time-aligned energy availability.Open sorption thermal energy storages(TESs)can contribute to such transition,since they are simple and cheap devices able to provide a hot airflow with a high energy density and to store energy for long time.In this work,open sorption TES systems operated with Zeolite13X are investigated with a focus on the integration in practical appli-cations.First,the experimental analysis and modelling of the sole TES system is described.Then,the integration of the TES at system level is carried out.The analysis evidences that a significant reduction of storage capac-ity occurs if air humidification is necessary before the adsorption process or afterwards to keep adequate indoor comfort conditions for the occupants.For the exemplary case study considered,an energy density of 150 kWhm−3 can drop to 40 kWhm−3 in case of complete compensation of the adsorbed water through a humidifier.This paper provides useful guidelines for evaluating the performance of a TES integrated system in terms of specific energy and efficiency.It also identifies applications involving high latent loads(e.g.,swimming pools,locker rooms)or for which low relative air humidity is required(e.g.interior of vehicles to prevent condensation on windows)as particularly beneficial for using a TES system. 展开更多

During indoor operations,Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)are required to embody attributes such as heightened sensitivity,compact design,and robust maneuverability.A high operational advantage is evident when tasks are executed using multiple UAVs in unison.Despite the prevalent focus in current UAV research on enhancing discrete components or modules,a holistic,integrated approach that encompasses the UAV architecture,platform design,algorithms,simulation,and swarm intelligence,is lacking.This study introduces a micro-UAV swarm system designed for efficient perception within partially known indoor environments.We devised the comprehensive architectural blueprint of a micro-UAV swarm system.A communication routing evaluation metric is proposed to improve the quality of intercommunication among UAVs in the micro-UAV swarm.In addressing the localization and perception challenges,this study features the development of a multisensor-based autonomous positioning methodology,complemented by an object detection and tracking framework based on YOLOv5 and DeepSORT technologies.In the realm of decision making,we used the DuelingDQN algorithm to facilitate mission allocation and scheduling within the micro-UAV swarm system.For flight control,we introduced a control strategy that integrated pipeline control and visual servoing mechanisms.We developed a dedicated simulation platform and designed a realistic scenario to rigorously validate the efficacy of the entire micro-UAV swarm system in simulated exercises and actual flight tests. 展开更多

The integration of artificial intelligence into the development and production of mechatronic products offers a substantial opportunity to enhance efficiency, adaptability, and system performance. This paper examines the utilization of reinforcement learning as a control strategy, with a particular focus on its deployment in pivotal stages of the product development lifecycle, specifically between system architecture and system integration and verification. A controller based on reinforcement learning was developed and evaluated in comparison to traditional proportional-integral controllers in dynamic and fault-prone environments. The results illustrate the superior adaptability, stability, and optimization potential of the reinforcement learning approach, particularly in addressing dynamic disturbances and ensuring robust performance. The study illustrates how reinforcement learning can facilitate the transition from conceptual design to implementation by automating optimization processes, enabling interface automation, and enhancing system-level testing. Based on the aforementioned findings, this paper presents future directions for research, which include the integration of domain-specific knowledge into the reinforcement learning process and the validation of this process in real-world environments. The results underscore the potential of artificial intelligence-driven methodologies to revolutionize the design and deployment of intelligent mechatronic systems. 展开更多

In recent years the demand for the acoustic performance of exhaust systems has increased and will further increase in the future. The main drivers are new pass-by-noise regulation and new powertrain technologies paired with exhaust muffler volume, weight and costs constraints. In the following paper several application examples for Adaptive ValveTM (self-actuated in-pipe valve), in-muffler valve and electric valve are shown and the related benefits on the system performance are assessed. It is shown that implementing a valve into an exhaust system has a significant influence on the NVH performance. The resulting backpressure penalties can be minimized using the right implementation strategy of the valves in the exhaust system. Hence the exhaust system has to be specifically designed for the integration of a valve. All three valve types have additional benefits to their standard application for overall noise reduction and muffler volume reduction, which are analyzed. The Adaptive ValveTM, for example, is often used on cars with long pipe routing and has the additional benefit of reducing pipe resonance in the system. Another example, the electric valve, can be coupled with vehicle communication networks and hence the flexibility in application is significantly increased. 展开更多

Hydrogen can serve as a carrier to store renewable energy in large scale.However,hydrogen storage still remains a challenge in the current stage.It is difficult to meet the technical requirements applying the conventional storage of compressed gaseous hydrogen in high-pressure tanks or the solid-state storage of hydrogen in suitable materials.In the present work,a gaseous and solid-state(G-S)hybrid hydrogen storage system with a low working pressure below 5 MPa for a 10 kW hydrogen energy storage experiment platform is developed and validated.A Ti-Mn type hydrogen storage alloy with an effective hydrogen capacity of 1.7 wt%was prepared for the G-S hybrid hydrogen storage system.The G-S hybrid hydrogen storage tank has a high volumetric hydrogen storage density of 40.07 kg H2m-3 and stores hydrogen under pressure below5 MPa.It can readily release enough hydrogen at a temperature as low as-15C when the FC system is not fully activated and hot water is not available.The energy storage efficiency of this G-S hybrid hydrogen storage system is calculated to be 86.4%-95.9%when it is combined with an FC system.This work provides a method on how to design a G-S hydrogen storage system based on practical demands and demonstrates that the G-S hybrid hydrogen storage is a promising method for stationary hydrogen storage application. 展开更多

Driven by the growing needs of high-end equipment manufacturing,complex system verification,and distributed testing,industrial networks are moving beyond device connection and data communication to support deterministic control,real-time data exchange,and coordinated testing.Although deterministic communication technologies have improved timecritical transmission,local synchronization,and priority control,existing industrial control networks still face limits in wide-area distributed testing,multi-source synchronous acquisition,transient event capture,flexible scheduling,and dynamic adaptation.To address these challenges,the evolution of industrial networks is reviewed,and the fundamental differences between test-and-measurement tasks and logic-control tasks are compared in terms of service features,trigger modes,time references,and system boundaries.On this basis,a conceptual framework for industrial measurement and control networks(IMCN)is proposed.The framework defines ten core capabilities:synchronous execution,synchronous acquisition,precise time capture,strict priority assurance,sensor network support,deeply embedded builtin testing,adaptive multi-source timing,dynamic topology reconstruction,network-shared storage,and a native networked instrumentation bus architecture.It also highlights the connotations in four aspects:inheritance,testability,traceability,and autonomy.The applicability and practical value of the proposed conceptual framework are further illustrated through the case of Shark Net in aerospace and other high-end measurement and control systems,while its potential significance for self-organizing,reconstructible,and brain-inspired physical network architectures is also discussed. 展开更多

Recently the integrated modular avionics (IMA) architecture which introduces the concept of resource partitions becomes popular as an alternative to the traditional federated architecture. This study investigates the problem of designing hierarchical scheduling for IMA systems. The proposed scheduler model enables strong temporal partitioning, so that multiple hard real-time applications can be easily integrated into an uniprocessor platform. This paper derives the mathematic relationships among parti- tion cycle, partition capacity and schedulability under the real-time condition, and then proposes an algorithm for optimizing partition parameters. Real-time tasks with arbitrary deadlines are considered for generality. To further improve the basic algo- rithm and reduce the energy consumption for embedded systems in aircraft, a power optimization approach is also proposed by exploiting the slack time. Experimental results show that the designed system can guarantee the hard real-time requirement and reduce the power consumption by at least 14%. 展开更多
