This paper investigates how sectoral implied energy intensity responds to energy technology progress,using the U.S.shale gas revolution—the most significant energy breakthrough of the 21st century—as a quasi-natural...This paper investigates how sectoral implied energy intensity responds to energy technology progress,using the U.S.shale gas revolution—the most significant energy breakthrough of the 21st century—as a quasi-natural experiment.Using industry-level input-output and trade data,we implement a difference-in-differences(DID)strategy to identify the effects.We find that the shale revolution,on average,increases sectoral implied energy intensity in countries with higher natural gas import demand.The results are robust to alternative specifications,multiple fixed effects,parallel-trend checks,and placebo tests.Mechanism analysis suggests that the rise in implied energy intensity is driven by increased natural gas imports and intensified competition among gas-exporting countries.Heterogeneity analysis further reveals that skill-intensive sectors,transportation,public services,and environmental industries are more responsive to the shale gas technology shock.These findings underscore the spillover effects of the revolution not only on global trade patterns but also on sectoral energy use,highlighting the need for enhanced coordination in ene rgy technology development and energy security strategies.展开更多
The study analyses the theoretical mechanism through which environmental regulation affects the dairy industry’s technological progress,with a particular focus on how the effect is conditional on farm size.Using the ...The study analyses the theoretical mechanism through which environmental regulation affects the dairy industry’s technological progress,with a particular focus on how the effect is conditional on farm size.Using the input–output data of dairy farms of different sizes from 2009 to 2019 in 10 Chinese provinces/autonomous regions in China and the quantitative measurement index of environmental regulation,the study estimates environmental regulation’s heterogeneous influences on the dairy industry’s technological progress by dynamic panel data models.The empirical results suggest that,first,environmental regulation has a U-type influence on the technological progress of dairy farming.The U-type influence means moving from pollution control’s high cost and low technology progress to the high profit and high innovation input generated by optimizing the breeding structure.Second,the promotion of dairy farming technology depends on farm size.The effect of environmental regulation on technological progress in moderately large-farms showed a U-type relationship.In contrast,the effect in free-range and large-size dairy farms showed a linear and positive relationship.The government should further strengthen environmental regulation based on advancing moderately large-farms in compliance with market mechanisms in the long run.Particular attention should be paid to the forms of environmental regulation so that dairy cattle breeding technology can break through the inflection point of the“U”curve as soon as possible and ensure the significance of the rising stage.Along the way,technical support should be provided for realizing environmental protection and economic growth.展开更多
Based on the DEA-based Malmquist index method,the total factor productivity was calculated for 5 major banana production areas in 2003-2004,and it was further divided into technological progress and technical efficien...Based on the DEA-based Malmquist index method,the total factor productivity was calculated for 5 major banana production areas in 2003-2004,and it was further divided into technological progress and technical efficiency.The results show that the total factor productivity of banana industry in China was 1.3% in the sample period,mainly due to technological progress,the average growth rate was 2.6%,while the pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency was -0.1% and -1.2% respectively.The improvement of total factor productivity in banana industry in China relied mainly on technological progress,cultivation of new banana varieties,management of high quality cultivation,popularization and application of water conservation and fertilizer saving technology,and injury-free picking technologies.The pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of banana production were negative,indicating that the management level of banana was not high.The effect of scale economy of this industry through agglomeration and consolidation is still to be practiced.Banana growers should promote the improvement of large scale and management level of the banana industry at the same time of promoting the technological progress.展开更多

The paper measures the industrial structure distortion(ISD)index by region in China from 1978 to 2016 using data on employment and output shares of the three industries.It also analyzes the impact of ISDs by region on...The paper measures the industrial structure distortion(ISD)index by region in China from 1978 to 2016 using data on employment and output shares of the three industries.It also analyzes the impact of ISDs by region on energy intensity using a spatial panel model.The results show that since the reform and opening up,the ISD index by region has declined significantly,with the lowest index in the eastern region,the medium one in the central region and the highest in the western region.The estimated results of the spatial econometric model indicate that there is a significant inter-regional dependence of energy intensity in China;there is a significant indirect effect of ISD,despite no significant direct effect on energy intensity;in terms of total effect,ISD is an important factor inhibiting the decline of energy intensity.The results also unveil that higher energy prices and foreign trade are positive factors declining energy intensity,while FDI worsens energy intensity and R&D spending has no significant positive impact on curbing energy intensity.In order to reduce energy intensity,China should work to eliminate the micro cause of ISDs,promote the transfer of agricultural labor,establish a market-oriented mechanism for energy price formation,and enhance the efficiency of R&D spending.展开更多

Meanwhile, based on the types of lost circulation materials, the advantages, disadvantages, and application effects of corresponding plugging technologies have been analyzed to sort out the key problems existing in the current lost circulation control technologies. On this basis, the development direction of plugging technology for severe loss have been pointed out. It is suggested that that the lost circulation control technology should combine different disciplines such as geology, engineering and materials to realize integration, intelligence and systematization in the future. This paper aims to explore the effects of market-oriented reforms on industrial technology progress.Based on a theoretical analysis,we performed an empirical study with a marketization index and panel data of high-tec...This paper aims to explore the effects of market-oriented reforms on industrial technology progress.Based on a theoretical analysis,we performed an empirical study with a marketization index and panel data of high-tech sectors in China.We found that market-oriented reforms had significantly propelled technology progress in China’s high-tech sectors,and the effects became more evident after China’s WTO entry.Market-oriented reforms induced technology progress by increasing capital allocation efficiency,R&D input,and technology diffusion.Among various aspects of market-oriented reforms,the institutional environment exerted the most significant effects,followed by the economy’s non-state sector,product market development,and factor market development;the government-market relationship index influenced technology’s progress the least.The effects are heterogeneous across sectors with different technology attributes and more significant for technology-intensive sectors.Our findings offer policy implications for China’s ongoing market-oriented reforms and policy design for technology progress in high-tech sectors.展开更多

摘要The paper measures the industrial structure distortion(ISD)index by region in China from 1978 to 2016 using data on employment and output shares of the three industries.It also analyzes the impact of ISDs by region on energy intensity using a spatial panel model.The results show that since the reform and opening up,the ISD index by region has declined significantly,with the lowest index in the eastern region,the medium one in the central region and the highest in the western region.The estimated results of the spatial econometric model indicate that there is a significant inter-regional dependence of energy intensity in China;there is a significant indirect effect of ISD,despite no significant direct effect on energy intensity;in terms of total effect,ISD is an important factor inhibiting the decline of energy intensity.The results also unveil that higher energy prices and foreign trade are positive factors declining energy intensity,while FDI worsens energy intensity and R&D spending has no significant positive impact on curbing energy intensity.In order to reduce energy intensity,China should work to eliminate the micro cause of ISDs,promote the transfer of agricultural labor,establish a market-oriented mechanism for energy price formation,and enhance the efficiency of R&D spending.
摘要DEA method can be regarded as a non-parametric statistical estimating method which is applied to the determination of the frontier production face.The Technological progress can be studied by the change of frontier production faces.In this paper, using the efficient frontier face obtained from DEA method,the new methoan integral method for estimating the speed of technological progress of enterprise group is studied.The integral method for estimating the speed of technonlogical progress of enterprise group in the case of an arbitray number of inputs for factor augmenting technological progress is given.The assumption of the homogeneity of degree 1 for the production function is relaxed to the general case.A case study from application of Chinese agriculture demonstrates the usefulness of the method.

摘要Mid-deep geothermal reinjection technology is crucial for the sustainable development of geothermal resources,which has garnered significant attention and rapid growth in recent years.Currently,various geothermal reinjection technologies lag behind,lacking effective integration to address issues like low reinjection rates and thermal breakthrough.This paper reviews the basic principles and development history of mid-deep geothermal reinjection technology,focusing on various technical methods used in the process and analyzing their applicability,advantages,and disadvantages under different geological conditions.It highlights the unique challenges posed by deep geothermal resources,including high temperature,high pressure,high stress,chemical corrosion,and complex geological structures.Additionally,it addresses challenges in equipment selection and durability,system stability and operation safety,environmental impact,and sustainable development.Finally,the paper explores future directions for mid-deep geothermal reinjection technology,highlighting key areas for further research and potential pathways for technological innovation.This comprehensive analysis aims to accelerate the advancement of geothermal reinjection technology,offering essential guidance for the efficient reinjection and sustainable development of geothermal resources.
摘要Based on the macroanalysis of the unbalanced development of the"demand side"and the"supply side"of clinical medicine in China,this paper elucidates the stakeholders,resources,and ecosystem of the strategic scientific and technological capacity-building and calls for a larger coverage,smoother supply chain,and more sustainable ecosystem to ensure the development of clinical medicine.Furthermore,focusing on the establishment and development of clinical reproductive health in China,the authors introduce the strategic scientific and technological capacity-building of reproductive medicine in Peking University Third Hospital,with an attempt to inform similar efforts in other fields and even the whole clinical medicine in China.

摘要By reviewing the mechanisms of drilling fluid lost circulation and its control in fractured formations, the applicability and working mechanisms of different kinds of lost circulation materials in plugging fractured formations have been summarized. Meanwhile, based on the types of lost circulation materials, the advantages, disadvantages, and application effects of corresponding plugging technologies have been analyzed to sort out the key problems existing in the current lost circulation control technologies. On this basis, the development direction of plugging technology for severe loss have been pointed out. It is suggested that that the lost circulation control technology should combine different disciplines such as geology, engineering and materials to realize integration, intelligence and systematization in the future. Five research aspects should be focused on:(1) the study on mechanisms of drilling fluid lost circulation and its control to provide basis for scientific selection of lost circulation material formulas, control methods and processes;(2) the research and development of self-adaptive lost circulation materials to improve the matching relationship between lost control materials and fracture scales;(3) the research and development of lost circulation materials with strong retention and strong filling in three-dimensional fracture space, to enhance the retention and filling capacities of materials in fractures and improve the lost circulation control effect;(4) the research and development of lost circulation materials with high temperature tolerance, to ensure the long-term plugging effect of deep high-temperature formations;(5) the study on digital and intelligent lost circulation control technology, to promote the development of lost circulation control technology to digital and intelligent direction.

摘要This paper aims to explore the effects of market-oriented reforms on industrial technology progress.Based on a theoretical analysis,we performed an empirical study with a marketization index and panel data of high-tech sectors in China.We found that market-oriented reforms had significantly propelled technology progress in China’s high-tech sectors,and the effects became more evident after China’s WTO entry.Market-oriented reforms induced technology progress by increasing capital allocation efficiency,R&D input,and technology diffusion.Among various aspects of market-oriented reforms,the institutional environment exerted the most significant effects,followed by the economy’s non-state sector,product market development,and factor market development;the government-market relationship index influenced technology’s progress the least.The effects are heterogeneous across sectors with different technology attributes and more significant for technology-intensive sectors.Our findings offer policy implications for China’s ongoing market-oriented reforms and policy design for technology progress in high-tech sectors.

This paper has researched on the technological progress intensity state of Shaanxi province, have pointed out the technological progress existing problem in Shaanxi province, analyzed the reasons and restraining factors, and put forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestion, regard one as the relevant department of the government and make polic ies and offer references and consult, and then promoted improvement of the technological progress intensity of Shaanxi province and economic high quality growth of Shaanxi province.
