Introducing frequency agility into a distributed multipleinput multiple-output(MIMO)radar can significantly enhance its anti-jamming ability.However,it would cause the sidelobe pedestal problem in multi-target parameter estimation.Sparse recovery is an effective way to address this problem,but it cannot be directly utilized for multi-target parameter estimation in frequency-agile distributed MIMO radars due to spatial diversity.In this paper,we propose an algorithm for multi-target parameter estimation according to the signal model of frequency-agile distributed MIMO radars,by modifying the orthogonal matching pursuit(OMP)algorithm.The effectiveness of the proposed method is then verified by simulation results. 展开更多

In this paper, a new kind of simple-encoding irregular systematic LDPC codes suitable for one-relay coded cooperation is designed, where the proposed joint iterative decoding is effectively performed in the destination which is in accordance with the corresponding joint Tanner graph characterizing two different component LDPC codes used by the source and relay in ideal and non-ideal relay cooperations. The theoretical analysis and simulations show that the coded cooperation scheme obviously outperforms the coded non-cooperation one under the same code rate and decoding complex. The significant performance improvement can be virtually credited to the additional mutual exchange of the extrinsic information resulted by the LDPC code employed by the source and its counterpart used by the relay in both ideal and non-ideal cooperations. 展开更多

Two modified BP algorithms related to vertical and horizontal processes are proposed to accelerate iterative low-density parity- check (LDPC) decoding over an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel, where the newly updated extrinsic information is immediately used in the current decoding round. Theoretical analysis and simulation results demonstrate that both the modified approaches provide significant performance improvements over the traditional BP algorithm with almost no additional decoding complexity. The proposed algorithm with modified horizontal process offers even better performance than another algorithm with the modified horizontal process. The two modified BP algorithms are very promising in practical communications since both can achieve an excellent trade-off between the performance and decoding complexity. 展开更多

This paper considers the uplink of a cooperative Code-Division Multiple-Access (CDMA) system where parts of mobile nodes serve as source nodes while the others serve as relay nodes at any instant in time. When the non-orthogonal spreading codes are adopted,Multiple Access Interference (MAI) will exist at both the relay nodes and the base node,causing diversity gain to diminish. To mitigate MAI and exploit full advantages of cooperation,the Probabilistic Data Association (PDA) is developed at the relay nodes and the base node. Simulation results demonstrate that some performance gains can be obtained by the PDA detector over the Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) detector at high Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) and conversely at low SNR. 展开更多

In the research on spatial hearing and virtual auditory space,it is important to effectively model the head-related transfer functions(HRTFs).Based on the analysis of the HRTFs’spectrum and some perspectives of psychoacoustics,this paper applied multiple demes’parallel and real-valued coding genetic algorithm(GA)to approxi-mate the HRTFs’zero-pole model.Using the logarithmic magnitude’s error criterion for the human auditory sense,the results show that the performance of the GA is on the average 39%better than that of the traditional Prony method,and 46%better than that of the Yule-Walker algo-rithm. 展开更多

In the research on spatial hearing and realization of virtual auditory space,it is important to effectively model the head-related transfer functions(HRTFs)or head-related impulse responses(HRIRs).In our study,we managed to carry out adaptive non-linear approximation in the field of wavelet transformation.The results show that the HRIRs’adaptive non-linear approximation model is a more effective data reduction model,is faster,and is 5 dB on average better than the traditional principal component analysis(PCA)(Karhunen-Loève transform)model based on relative mean square error(MSE)criterion.Furthermore,we also discussed the best bases’choice for the time-frequency representation of HRIRs,and the results show that local cosine bases are more propitious to HRIRs’adaptive approximation than wavelet and wavelet packet base.However,the improved effect of local cosine bases is not distinct.Here,for the sake of modeling the HRIRs more truthfully,we consider choosing optimal time-frequency atoms from redundant dictionary to decompose this kind of signals of HRIRs and achieve better results than all the previous models. 展开更多
