In this paper,we analyze the physical layer security(PLS)performance of a free-space optical(FSO)communication system composed of a transmitting satellite and ground users.Specifically,the FSO fading channels follow the Málaga distribution.Further,we scrutinize the influence of non-zero boresight pointing errors and angle-of-arrival fluctuations on the PLS performance for the first time.We derived the probability density function and cumulative density function of the FSO link,followed by the closed-form expressions of the secrecy outage probability(SOP)and the probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity(SPSC).The asymptotic SOP expression at the high signal-to-noise ratio regime and diversity order are also provided to reveal the physical mechanism of the PLS of the considered system.Finally,Monte Carlo simulation results are presented to verify the correctness of the analytical expressions.The results afford helpful insights for the future design of satellite FSO communication systems. 展开更多

A hybrid carrier (HC) DS CDMA communication system is proposed, combining 4-weighted fractional Fourier transform (4-WFRFT) with code division multiple access (CDMA) technique. The signals are modulated in a certain order fractional Fourier domain and transformed by 4-WFRFT to compose the hybrid carrier signals. In the time domain CDMA technique is adopted for multiple accesses and time diversity gain. Compared to orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system, in which Fourier transform is adopted, the signal energy in HC system is distributed on the time-frequency plane more evenly and symmetrically. Thus, when there is a deep fading notch or single-frequency interference in the channel, the proposed method can split the interference to a broader range in order to reduce the influence, resulting in the better system performance. Moreover, the performances of the proposed system, such as peak-to-average power rate (PAPR) and security are also discussed in the paper. 展开更多

So the source based rate distribution algorithms cannot work properly. We designed a source detection algorithm to enable the switch to know the number of sources and the cell rate of each source in a multipoint to point VC. These information is very important for the source based rate distribution algorithm. Physical layer security is an important method to improve the secrecy performance of wireless communication systems.In this paper,we analyze the effect of employing channel correlation to improve security performance in multiple-input multipleoutput(MIMO)scenario with antenna selection(AS)scheme.We first derive the analytical expressions of average secrecy capacity(ASC)and secrecy outage probability(SOP)by the first order Marcum Q function.Then,the asymptotic expressions of ASC and SOP in two specific scenarios are further derived.The correctness of analytical and asymptotic expressions is verified by Monte Carlo simulations.The conclusions suggest that the analytical expressions of ASC and SOP are related to the product of transmitting and receiving antennas;increasing the number of antennas is beneficial to ASC and SOP.Besides,when the target rate is set at a low level,strong channel correlation is bad for ASC,but is beneficial to SOP. 展开更多

In the Satellite-integrated Internet of Things(S-IoT),data freshness in the time-sensitive scenarios could not be guaranteed over the timevarying topology with current distribution strategies aiming to reduce the transmission delay.To address this problem,in this paper,we propose an age-optimal caching distribution mechanism for the high-timeliness data collection in S-IoT by adopting a freshness metric,as called age of information(AoI)through the caching-based single-source multidestinations(SSMDs)transmission,namely Multi-AoI,with a well-designed cross-slot directed graph(CSG).With the proposed CSG,we make optimizations on the locations of cache nodes by solving a nonlinear integer programming problem on minimizing Multi-AoI.In particular,we put up forward three specific algorithms respectively for improving the Multi-AoI,i.e.,the minimum queuing delay algorithm(MQDA)based on node deviation from average level,the minimum propagation delay algorithm(MPDA)based on the node propagation delay reduction,and a delay balanced algorithm(DBA)based on node deviation from average level and propagation delay reduction.The simulation results show that the proposed mechanism can effectively improve the freshness of information compared with the random selection algorithm. 展开更多

In this paper, we study the performance of physical-layer network coding in asymmetric two-way relay channels using four different cases having different poor channels:phase asymmetry, downlink asymmetry, uplink asymmetry and node asymmetry. The decision and mapping rule for symmetric and asymmetric cases are studied. The performance in terms of bit error rate for each case will be studied and analysed by computer simulation. Analytical and simulation results show that uplink asymmetry is the worst case;intra-phase asymmetry and unreliable uplink channels will more severely affect the performance degradation, which is caused by channel asymmetry. 展开更多

In this paper,a new statistical distribution model exclusively used for LOS environment is proposed based on investigation of the experimental data. By reducing the number of the visible random arriving clusters,the model itself and the parameters estimating of the corresponding model are simplified in comparison with SV/IEEE 802.15.3a model. The simulation result indicates that the proposed model is more accurate in modeling small-scale LOS environment than SV/IEEE 802.15.3a model when considering cumulative distribution functions (CDFs) for the three key channel impulse response (CIR) statistics. 展开更多

The Inter-Orbit-Links (IOLs) between layers is an essential factor, which affects the performances of the DLSN systems. Considering certain constellation parameters, the geometric characteristics of IOLs are described and the connectivity of MEO satellites and LEO satellites in the DLSN is analyzed. By computer simulation, the results show that IOLs should be selectively established according to certain parameters rather than the simple in-sight principle. 展开更多

In this paper,the detect... The majority of existing papers about spectrum sensing have the assumption that secondary users(SUs) are stationary. However,mobility is an essential feature of mobile communications networks. In this paper,the detection performance of spectrum sensing by mobile SUs was analyzed. Three performance metrics,i.e.,detection probability,miss detection probability and false alarm probability,were thoroughly investigated. In our analysis,a critical variable was the real-time received primary user signal power by a mobile SU. Its probability distribution and mathematical expectation were analytically derived. Moreover,the three performance metrics in single-node spectrum sensing and multi-node collaborative spectrum sensing systems were also derived. Extensive simulations were performed. The results are consistent with the theoretical analysis. And it is concluded that SU mobility has a significant impact on the detection probability and the miss detection probability,but not on the false alarm probability. 展开更多

To improve the performance of MIMO-OFDM video transmission systems on the limitation of wireless bandwidth and transmitting power,we propose an adaptive joint resource allocation algorithm with unequal error protection(UEP) based on joint source-channel coding(JSCC) according to H.264 video compression standard and RCPT channel coding.According to different thresholds of the average SNR of subchannels,the algorithm dynamically allocates the source coding parameters of original video data and the channel coding parameters of RCPT,which realizes UEP for the compressed video data of different importance.Through the bit and power allocation based on MQAM modulation and the subspace allocation based on beamforming technology for different subcarriers,an adaptive joint resource allocation making full use of space-frequency domain resources have been realized.The simulation results indicate that the algorithm improves the adaptability of video transmission systems in different wireless environments and the quality of video retrieval. 展开更多

In this paper, a weighted fractional Fourier transform(WFRFT) based cooperative overlay system, aiming to guarantee physical layer(PHY) security, is proposed. The paper elaborates how WFRFT and physical layer properties of the wireless medium are collaborated to guarantee the secrecy of wireless transmissions. In the proposed system, WFRFT is first preform on the secret data, such that the transmitted signal is distorted and can only be neutralized by inverse-WFRFT with the same parameter. And then two streams of the transformed sequences that bearing different messages are cooperatively and simultaneously transmitted to two legitimate receivers via a beamforming-liked method, respectively. In general, both the rapid spatial decorrelation property and the inherent security features of WFRFT are leveraged, such that only the eavesdropper's is degraded, and hence, the wireless communication secrecy is reliably guaranteed. Numerical simulations are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed system in terms of the average bit error rate and the secrecy capacity. 展开更多

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) is an attractive technology to provide immense improvement in wireless transmission capacity but high peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR) is a major drawback of OFDM system.Selected mapping(SLM) scheme has good performance for PAPR reduction.It requires the transmitting data to be multiplied by random phase sequences.However,the sequences are pseudo-random which will decrease the method effectiveness.Exhaustive entropy is introduced in this paper which can identify the strength of random phase sequences property.Then an exhaustive entropy based on SLM method is proposed.The scheme improves the effectiveness of random phase sequences by selecting the larger exhaustive entropy of them.The simulation results show that the PAPR reduction performance is better than that of conventional SLM through this method. 展开更多

Network coding (NC), which works in the network layer, is an effective technology to improve the network throughput, by allowing the relay to encode the information from different users and ensuring the destination to retrieve the desired information. Employing network coding technique in a cooperative network can improve the network performance further. In this paper, we introduce analog network coding (ANC) to a simple two-user cooperative diversity network, which adopts amplify-and-forward (AF) mode and all nodes use multiple antennas. The impact of the number of antenna on the system achievable rate is investigated. And the bit error rate (BER) performances of the traditional relay cooperative network and the cooperative network based on analog network coding under different propagation conditions are discussed. The simulation results show that the performance of the traditional cooperative network has improved significantly due to the employ of network coding. 展开更多

Wireless avionics intra-communications(WAIC)is an emergent research topic,since it can improve fuel efficiency and enhance aircraft safety significantly.However,there are numerous baffles in an aircraft,e.g.,seats and cabin bulkheads,resulting in serious blockage and even destroying wireless communications.Thus,this paper focuses on the reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)deployment issue of RIS-assisted WAIC systems,to solve the blockage problem caused by baffles.We first propose the mirror-symmetric imaging principle for mathematically analyzing electromagnetic(EM)wave propagation in a metal cuboid,which is a typical structure of WAIC systems.Based on the mirror-symmetric imaging principle,the mathematical channel model in a metal cuboid is deduced in detail.In addition,we develop an objective function of RIS's location and deduce the optimal RIS deployment location based on the geometric center optimization lemma.A two-dimensional gravity center search algorithm is then presented.Simulation results show that the designed RIS deployment can greatly increase the received power and efficiently solve the blockage problem in the aircraft. 展开更多

Because of the continuous movement of the LEO satellite, the time-varying behaviours of the ISL's geometric charactersistics continuously change with the changes of the satellite's position on the orbit. These dynamic geometric characteristics of the ISLs are important for ISL's performance analyzing and the design of the devices on the LEO satellite. This paper describes dynamic geometric characteristics of ISL, analyzes the impact of these regulations on the tracking system of the satellite's antenna and the power adjusting system of the satellite's transmitter, with the Iridium system as an example. 展开更多

To make the modulation classification system more suitable for signals in a wide range of signal to noise ratios (SNRs), a novel adaptive modulation classification scheme is presented in this paper. Differ-ent from traditional schemes, the proposed scheme employs a new SNR estimation algorithm for small samples before modulation classification, which makes the modulation classifier work adaptively according to estimated SNRs. Furthermore, it uses three efficient features and support vector machines (SVM) in modulation classification. Computer simulation shows that the scheme can adaptively classify ten digital modulation types (i.e. 2ASK, 4ASK, 2FSK, 4FSK, 2PSK, 4PSK, 16QAM, TFM, π/4QPSK and OQPSK) at SNRS ranging from 0dB to 25dB and success rates are over 95% when SNR is not lower than 3dB. Accuracy, efficiency and simplicity of the proposed scheme are obviously improved, which make it more adaptive to engineering applications. 展开更多

Moreover, the characteristics of enhanced multiple access schemes based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technique were analyzed for satellite links. However, OFDM is a doubtful candidate as its higher peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) that causes the distortion of high power amplifier (HPA). Furthermore, different schemes were evaluated and compared in terms of the HPA nonlinearity and the link level performance in detail. And the pilot-aided channel estimation and equalization techniques were also considered for analyzing the problem. Simulation results show that the bit error rate (BER) and block error rate (BLER) performance of orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) outperforms that of single carrier-frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) for the satellite links in the proposed structure, though discrete Fourier transform-spread OFDM DFT-S OFDM has low PAPR, especially the BER performance of OFDMA is 3.6 dB larger than that of SC-FDMA at the target BER. 展开更多
