Based on the model,simulation experiments are conducted to investigate the slope shift strategy. In this paper, we proposed a formal approach to protocol interoperability testing based on the operational semantics of Concurrent TTCN. We define Concurrent TTCN's operational semantics by using Labeled transition System, and describe the interoperability test execution and test verdict based on Concurrent TTCN. Based on a constructive learning approach, covering algorithms, we investigatethe relationship between support vector sets and kernel functions in support vector machines(SVM). An interesting result is obtained. That is, in the linearly non-separable case, any sampleof a given sample set K can become a support vector under a certain kernel function. The resultshows that when the sample set K is linearly non-separable, although the chosen kernel functionsatisfies Mercer's condition its corresponding support vector set is not necessarily the subsetof K that plays a crucial role in classifying K. For a given sample set, what is the subsetthat plays the crucial role in classification? In order to explore the problem, a new concept,boundary or boundary points, is defined and its properties are discussed. Given a sample setK, we show that the decision functions for classifying the boundary points of K are the sameas that for classifying the K itself. And the boundary points of K only depend on K and thestructure of the space at which K is located and independent of the chosen approach for findingthe boundary. Therefore, the boundary point set may become the subset of K that plays acrucial role in classification. These results are of importance to understand the principle of thesupport vector machine (SVM) and to develop new learning algorithms. 展开更多

In this paper ,an approach to real-time collision-free path planning for robots in configuration space is presented. Obstacle mapping is carried out by fundamental obstacles defined in the workspace and their images in the configuration space. In order to avoid dealing with unimportant parts of the configuration space that do not thect searching a collision-free path between starting and goal configurations, we construct a free subspace by slice configuration obstacles. In this free subspace, the collision-free path is determined by the A algorithm. Finally, graphical simulations show the effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多

In this paper, a boundary element method is first applied to real-time animation of deformable objects and to simplify data preparation. Next, the visible external surface of the object in deforming process is represented by B-spline surface, whose control points are embedded in dynamic equations of BEM. Finally, the above method is applied to anatomical simulation. A pituitary model in human brain, which is reconstructed from a set of anatomical sections, is selected to be the deformable object under action of virtual tool such as scalpel or probe. It produces fair graphic realism and high speed performance. The results show that BEM not only has less computational expense than FEM, but also is convenient to combine with the 3D reconstruction and surface modeling as it enables the reduction of the dimensionality of the problem by one. 展开更多

For intelligent / antonomous subsea vehicles, reliable short-range horizontal positioning is difficult to achieve, particularly over flat bottom topography.A potential solution proposed in this paper utilizes a passive optical sensing method to estimate the vehicle displacement using the bottom surface texture.The suggested optical flow method does not require any feature correspondeuces in images and it is robust in allowing brightness changes between image frames. Fundamentallyt this method is similar to correlation methods attempting to match images and compute the motion disparity. However, in correlation methods, searching a neighbor region blindly for best match is lengthy. Main contributions of this paper come from the analysis showing that optical flow computation based on the general model cannot avoid errors except for null motion although the sign of optical flow keeps correct, and from the development of an iterative shifting method based on the error characteristics to accurately determine motions. Advantages of the proposed method are verified by real image experiments. 展开更多
