Evidence⁃based practices of public health will benefit from quantification of passive physical activity assessment.This study aims to investigate the reliability of marker⁃free system(MFS)such as Microsoft Kinect in m...Evidence⁃based practices of public health will benefit from quantification of passive physical activity assessment.This study aims to investigate the reliability of marker⁃free system(MFS)such as Microsoft Kinect in measuring upper extremity motion from different angles.Ten healthy participants performed elbow and shoulder extension/flexion along frontal and median anatomical planes for ten pace⁃controlled repetitions,during which the spatiotemporal positions of upper extremity joints were concurrently recorded by two sensors from 0°and 45°viewing angles.Reliability between the two sensors were evaluated using Pearson correlation coefficient,intra⁃class correlation coefficients,and 95%limits of agreement and coefficient of variation.Worse reliability was observed when possibility of occlusion was higher.However,better reliability was found when longer observation interval(10 s)was used as elementary measuring unit than shorter observation interval(2 s).The overall angular reliability of activity as displacement or changes in angle was not satisfactory.The results are expected to inform the industry for the extension of MFS to clinic applications.展开更多
A recurrent phenomenon is the reappearance of distress conditions on the same road section,both before and after maintenance interventions.The maintenance work essentially addresses the superficial symptoms rather tha...A recurrent phenomenon is the reappearance of distress conditions on the same road section,both before and after maintenance interventions.The maintenance work essentially addresses the superficial symptoms rather than the root causes,since the internal relationships between various forms of distress remain unclear.This study quantitatively evaluates the correlation between surface distress and internal defects based on field detection data and statistical methods,effectively complementing existing qualitative analytical method.Approximately 200 defect locations data were collected from the RIOHTrack full-scale ring road,and targeted evaluation metrics reflecting pavement performance were proposed.Then,the Ripley's K-function was employed to analyze the spatial aggregation of surface and internal cracks,and to further verify their macroscopic correlation during the spatio-temporal evolution process.Next,kernel density estimation and relative risk assessment were used to investigate the relationships between the surface distress and internal defects.Experimental results reveal that the loading position significantly affects surface distress,but exhibits no obvious correlation with hidden damage,and there is also no spatial aggregation phenomenon between them.However,for semi-rigid base asphalt pavement,internal cracks and surface cracks show a strong correlation,while demonstrating only a weak association with loading position.Finally,a sensitivity analysis was performed based on the results obtained at different distance thresholds,and r=0.5 m was designated as the optimal spatial correlation distance threshold.This threshold was then used to determine the pavement structure offering the best crack resistance performance,providing a key reference for the design and maintenance of heavy-duty highway pavements.This study provides a reference for road active maintenance and supports the transformation of maintenance strategies from passive response to active intervention.展开更多
Urban traffic congestion has become increasingly severe,along with the rapid progress of urbanization and motorization worldwide,particularly in the areas with old neighborhoods.These areas often face issues such as t...Urban traffic congestion has become increasingly severe,along with the rapid progress of urbanization and motorization worldwide,particularly in the areas with old neighborhoods.These areas often face issues such as the slow speed of vehicles and difficulties in parking due to the incomplete traffic microcirculation system.This paper focuses on optimizing traffic microcirculation in the areas of old neighborhoods through scenario simulations.The bi-level optimization model for the traffic microcirculation system,which considers intersection delays,was developed and solved by using a genetic algorithm to devise an optimal road network strategy.By taking the case of Zhuangwangfu,an old neighborhood of Tianjin,China,we validated the optimization model.The results indicate that measures such as converting some two-way streets to one-way,widening roads,and increasing the number of minor roads can effectively reduce the saturation of main roads.These efforts can also improve the utilization of minor roads,balance traffic volumes between main and minor roads,and significantly alleviate traffic congestion in old neighborhoods.These results can also provide valuable insights for alleviating traffic congestion through traffic microcirculation,thus improving the urban environment.展开更多

Insufficient physical activity has become a significant issue of global health.To optimize the environment of streets,an important kind of public space in cities,is an effective way to push residents to engage in dail...Insufficient physical activity has become a significant issue of global health.To optimize the environment of streets,an important kind of public space in cities,is an effective way to push residents to engage in daily physical activities.Due to the complexity of behaviors,identifying the relevant influencing factors and their relationship,as well as building a comprehensive research framework are key to making environmental development strategies.Therefore,from a social ecological perspective,this paper analyzes the basic logic of these influencing factors at various levels and summarizes their specific content.According to the rational interpretation on behavioral decision-making based on the theory of health behavior,the paper builds a multi-dimensional model on factors influencing physical activity from theoretical and cognitive perspectives.By exploring the model’s structural relationship,it concludes that strategies considering street physical factors are conductive to physical activity interventions from multiple dimensions.As theoretical deduction needs to be continuously verified and optimized in empirical studies,it proposes suggestions for the next stage of research on data support of quantitative analysis.展开更多

This article investigates the one-century construction history of Silla’s state monastery Hwangryongsa,understanding its architectural transformation in relation to the changing ritual-spatial concept within the cont...This article investigates the one-century construction history of Silla’s state monastery Hwangryongsa,understanding its architectural transformation in relation to the changing ritual-spatial concept within the context of the medieval Sino-Korean cultural exchanges.The initial construction between 553 and 569,supervised by the Koguryŏe´migre´monk Hyeryang,followed the sixth-century Northern Chinese model to build Hwangryongsa as a dormitory-enclosed compound,in which the One-Hundred-Seat Assembly was enacted in the image hall as the earlier Chinese Buddhist tradition would do.This plan was soon altered under the increasing popularity of the newly developed Southern Chinese paradigm.An extensive reconstruction started in 574 for the purpose of imitating the Chen imperial performance of the One-Hundred-Seat Assembly at Taijidian compound of Jiankang palace,while the archaic,oddly-empty organization of the central image hall reveals a hidden connection between Hwangryongsa and Tongtaisi,the state monastery of the Liang and also the first Chinese monastery modeled after the Taijidian compound.Hwangryongsa was eventually transformed into a corridor-enclosed ceremonial courtyard fronted by three image halls and one nine-story pagoda by 645,and the transformation profoundly mirrored China’s medieval architectural reform of Buddhist ritual space between the sixth and seventh centuries.展开更多
