严重的路径损耗、天线对不准以及大气湍流等造成太赫兹通信可靠性下降,利用混合自动重发请求(Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request,HARQ)技术可以有效解决其可靠性问题。为更高效利用太赫兹通信的宽带无线资源,提出一种可变速率HARQ增量冗余(Incremental Redundancy,IR)技术HARQ-IR来辅助太赫兹通信并分析其通信的可靠性。由于中断概率是表征可靠性的关键性能指标,通过梅林变换以及特殊函数理论等推导了可变速率HARQ-IR辅助太赫兹通信的中断概率的闭合表达式。该表达式极其复杂且不利于挖掘其物理内涵,因此研究了高信噪比条件下中断概率的渐近表达式。利用复变函数理论推导了其闭合表达式,基于此理论证明可变速率HARQ-IR辅助太赫兹通信可以获得全分集增益,并且分集阶数与路径衰落以及指向误差相关。此外,调制和编码增益与可变速率的取值次序无关。通过大量数值仿真验证说明了理论分析的正确性。收起

Severe path loss,antenna misalignment,and atmospheric turbulence significantly degrade the reliability of Terahertz communication.Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request(HARQ)is an effective solution to boost system reliability.To take advantage of the wideband of Terahertz communications,this paper proposes a variable-rate HARQ Incremental Redundancy(IR)—HARQ-IR—to assist Terahertz communications.This paper thoroughly investigates the reliability of the proposed variable-rate HARQ-IR scheme.Since the outage probability is a key performance metric for characterizing the reliability,this paper derives a closed-form expression for the outage probability of variable-rate HARQ-IR-assisted Terahertz communication using Mellin transform and special function theory.However,the exact outage expression is too complex,making it challenging to uncover its physical insights.Therefore,the paper further examines the asymptotic outage probability under high signal-to-noise ratio conditions.By capitalizing on the residue theorem,a closed-form expression for the asymptotic outage probability is deduced.On this basis,the asymptotic results reveal that the proposed variable-rate HARQ-IR-assisted Terahertz communications can achieve full time diversity.Besides,the diversity order also depends on path fading and pointing errors.Additionally,the modulation and coding gain are independent of the order of transmission rates across different HARQ rounds.Finally,plenty of numerical results validate the correctness of our theoretical analysis.FEWER
